Small but mighty satellite facility of a larger regional hospital. Quick, caring, quality ER service, especially on Christmas Day!

How My Mother Survived the Hospital from Hell…read more My mother endured a nightmare at the hospital. She was screaming for help from room number four, desperate for a glass of water due to severe dehydration. Nurses did not respond, and doctors did not respond, but after increasing her cries to a horrifying level, a police officer finally came to her aid. Eventually, a doctor walked in with a glass of water. She waited for several hours for an initial doctor's review, enduring the excruciating pain of a double fracture in her right shoulder. The doctor eventually provided some pain relief medication. When I stepped out of the room to get an update on my mother's prognosis, the doctor who had initially assisted us was nowhere to be found. After 30 minutes of searching and trying to find answers, we were informed that the doctor had left and would not see us because he was unfamiliar with the patient. The nurse directed us to the supervisor, who refused to bring in another doctor to help with my mother's ongoing pain. The lack of professionalism and compassion was hard to believe. While making another round to find help, a security guard started holding me like a prisoner. This lack of compassion made the entire experience feel like a prison show on television. This wasn't a hospital; it was an incarceration building, and that realization was chilling.

Given his age and underlying health conditions, we chose the Emergency Department at Grover Hermann Hospital instead of urgent care. We were admitted immediately, and the staff sprang into action with remarkable speed and efficiency. Their care and expertise brought the bleeding under control--a tremendous relief for both of us. Dr. Sam Berger and the entire team truly exemplify why Grover Hermann's Emergency Department is award-winning.

After reading the many reviews of this facility, I decided to write one of my own. I don't agree…read morewith many of the one star reviews I read here so I'm giving it a 5, just to boost its score a bit. But my true assessment is 4 stars. I think people in duress can be so unfair in their assessments, and this place served my husband and I well twice in just this past week. Both times we came through ER. My husband ended up getting admitted and stayed over night. The staff were fast, efficient, and kind. Again, not 1-star quality at all. Very good care. A woman writing a review about her husband's mental health should probably message her congressional representatives for better mental healthcare in NY state. This state IS a mess but that is not Garnett Health's fault. I'm reading between the lines but it sounds like her husband's pneumonia may have triggered his ongoing mental health issues and once that was cleared up there was no need to admit him. Someone else complaining of a panic attack but unable to patiently wait for the staff to see her really should not be writing a one star review. And yet another review mentions neglectful landscaping on the premises which is simply not true. The lawn was mowed, and I thought the drive up to the parking lot was pretty! It's clean here. They accurately set our expectations as far as how long we would wait, what time our scans would be done etc. I had seen bad reviews online of this facility before and thought, damn, I'll never go there. But as I said, I had two occasions this week that necessitated a true ER, not an urgent care center. This place met our needs and in my opinion does not deserve the crappy reputation it has garnered (ha, pun intended).

On the next day she was admitted into hospital. All the staff we met when she stayed there were responsible, kind, and patient. Especially Dr. Fritzgerald Estinfa, who was in charge of my mother in ER, was very experienced and rich in medical knowledge. He diagnosed accurately and gave the best treatment quickly. He was also very patient when explaining the situation to my mother and persuaded her to accept the next step treatment ASAP, which allowed her symptoms to be relieved the next day without need of surgery. In a word Dr. Fritzgerald Estinfa is not only excellent in his medical practice, but also sincerely concerned for his patient's well being, and care for their emotion need as well. Thanks Dr. Fritzgerald Estinfa and Good Samaritan Hospital, who gave my mother a wonderful experience in a urgent health problem.

They were very concerned not only for my husband but for his family too. I received updated during his surgery with this special App called "Family First" my kids and some friends were able to be updated through Harry's surgery.. This was very much appreciated. And comforting. The nurse Lisa would actually call me at home when he made any progress. Mike the nurse was my husband's favorite nurse. The experience was a great one even in a very scary situation. We also had a private waiting room that was very helpful for family to gather.
