100 stars I love this place.. I needed to run away from my day to day routine.. I set out for a road trip of up to 150 miles.. we have those days where we need air. I'm glad I stopped here.. great service the chicken fried steak and everything else on the plate was the boom.. 109 miles to and from was well worth it.. I'll see you soon.. thank you

Good place for good food. My turkey was tender and juicy and well smoked. Their BBQ sauce is amazing! My son and wife ate every last bite of their plates so must a been good. The gravy on my wife's CFS was super good also! The beans they offer for free are very creamy and flavorful as well. All menu is very affordable as well. We will be back here again. Staff is quick and kind as well. Military discounts offered here also.

I came here maybe 10 years ago when my Dad was still alive. My brother and I were in town and thought we would have dinner here. It's not what it used to be. Maybe new management. The staff was nice. Clean and small restaurant My brother had a three meat plate for $24. I ordered a senior plate. The poppers were good. The bacon was crispy. The brisket was ok. The potato salad wasn't to my liking. I think it's just the seasoning. Or lack of. Not a place I would go back to unless someone I was with really wanted to go.

Another place we stopped on our little road trip. This is a small, no frills place. There is unlimited beans which you get yourself out of a big ol' pot. They were good. The BBQ was also good and tender. Nothing to write home about but overall a pleasant experience with lovely staff. I also picked up a delicious, sweet, giant round of brittle which I enjoyed for days.

    Menu

The barbecue was delicious and very appropriately priced. I thought the turkey was the best followed by brisket, which was slightly better than the pulled pork. These rankings are probably just personal preferences. The service was informal yet very attentive and pleasant. There are many smokers and a large pile of firewood outside so this place seems like the real deal.

We stopped by here on our way to Junction, Texas to try this place on a referral from a friend. From the reviews I was skeptical. But the sign said, New Ownership. We didn't know the old ownership, so why not try it. I had the salad with brisket on top. The brisket was delicious. Tender, moist, and flavorful. It was way more then I could eat, and I was starving. My spouse had the chopped beef sandwich and beans. He said both were good, no complaints. It was lunch time so the place was busy, with no delays. And our waitress was extremely helpful, efficient, and kept the tea refilled, woohoo. Would I return........YES!!!!

This was the first time in Brady and first time in Cattleman's. I drove in from Austin and it was late-ish for Brady so Cattleman's was the only sit down restaurant open so we decided to give it a try. The server was super nice as she told us they were out of all bbq and steaks, and several of the sides. Ok no problem, we ordered Chicken Fried Steaks all around with potato salad and Okra for me, fries and fried okra for the other guests at our table. The food was mostly tasty, hot and plentiful. The meat had not really been tenderized so that would be my biggest complaint. The gravy was nice, okra was fresh made there I believe, potato salad was good and not too mustardy . The service was really nice she was friendly and speedy and doing all positions in the restaurant that night. I would def go again, would hope for steaks though.

As we were driving through Brady we had our windows down and no lie my fiancé was like woah I smell bbq we made a u turn and pulled in. Jasmin warmly greeted us. We asked her what the must have are and for bbq she said the ribs and brisket were the top sellers. So we went with her recommendations and ordered the 3 meats plate (double brisket and ribs) that included all you can eat beans, one side, white bread, pickles, white onions and pickled jalapeños. For our side we went with the mac and cheese. The man behind the smoke was Brian. He kindly divided our tray into two. WOWZERS! The food was incredible. Super juicy, well seasoned and a very plentiful portion!!! Oh Jasmin also introduced me to big red soda pop. Yummy! The service, the smoke master and the food were all 5 stars!!! We can finally say we had AMAZING TEXAS BBQ.

    Quail popper. Super hot!!

We stopped at Cattleman's BBQ on our way through town. Great chopped brisket sandwiches and burger for lunch. The brisket was super moist and flavorful with just great smoked beef flavor coming through. The sides, cole slaw and potato salad, were really good also. Also we ordered a burger and fries and quail poppers. They made the burger from scratch for us which took a few minutes but it was worth it. Fries were freshly fried also and hot!! The service was great and very transparent on the few things that weren't available that day and that the quail poppers were more expensive than the posted price, but they were worth it! We really enjoyed our stop and will come back next time through town.

This is the weirdest place I've ever walked into. Seemed like if you weren't dressed like a hill billy buck you couldn't get served.

I figured that this was a good a place as any to ask, because meat heads in these towns usually stick together. Located just a few blocks north in an unassuming building on the main strip going through town, I found it curious that a meat market this small could be a going concern. We parked and walked to the door. As we entered to the 'tinkle-tinkle' of a little bell, we found the meat counter to be impressively stocked and prices quite reasonable. Everything was quiet. Too quiet. To our surprise, the clock suddenly struck high noon! Twelve bells!! For the jerky, the guy at the BBQ joint said 'you gotta talk to Steve personally'. So we asked the young man at the counter for Steve, the helper said "SShhhh!!" and we were quietly shuffled right back out the front door. He whispered that 'Steve' works in the back and he STFD. And locked it. WTH?? Really??!! So knowing we are desperate for a dried meat fix, we went to try the back door. We knocked three times and the door opened - but cracked only slightly. A pale man in a ball cap held out his hand, but said nothing. I fumbled for $10, handed it to the man and he quickly gave me the 'product' in a brown paper sack. The door slammed shut...locked tight. As the hair stood up on the back of my neck, I dared not open the bag - we just looked at each other, ran to the car, got in and hauled azz. Once out of town, the bag was opened....dried, peppery, chewy/crunchy....yep....THIS was the real deal. Just remember to knock three times.

Of the mexican/tex-mex options in Brady, this is probably my favorite. It's one of the few places I'll order the shrimp because they're big and fresh, a great value after a long day - especially in the winter. No place has great queso or salsa - I'd love to find a place with really good pico (vs. salsa), so it's all pretty much the same... but their entrees really shine here and are fresh-crafted in the kitchen. Welcoming, open, lots of parking, and lots of locals. That's always a good sign!

They only allow 8 people maximum to be seated, so if you have a big group you'll need to go elsewhere. Ordered to go, but the restaurant was clean and it's comfortable inside! Their food tastes the same as it did years ago, so they are indeed consistent! I ordered chips & queso and an enchilada dinner. Chips were a bit tough and their queso is more so creamy with a good bit of flavor. I'd say the queso flavor resembles chili powder. Their enchiladas are on the smaller side, rice was a bit dry, but I enjoyed their beans! I'd say this is a decent meal if you're craving Mexican food, but it also somewhat resembled a frozen dinner flavor wise. It was exactly what I was looking for in the moment!
