I really wanted to and hoped I'd find a gem but unfortunately this wasn't it. Service and proper cooking temp of my 9 ounce ribeye was great. The quality of the steak was Select at best. 1/3 of it was fat and gristle. Something easily seen when raw. For my side I ordered mushrooms and a side Caesar salad. Shrooms were fine but the lettuce should have been in the trash bin. Pink romaine with mushy areas is just not cool. My wife ordered the steak Caesar and it was a mess as well. This ended up being an expensive and one of the worst lunches I've ever had. Look at my history...I don't mind spending if the quality is there. Another poor memory was the amount of flies. Fans at doors would help for sure. They applied some sound treatment to the ceiling and that was appreciated for sound control. read more

We've come here a few times in the past couple of years and the food is always great. The restaurant is always clean, and the staff friendly. My husband got a bison steak the last time we stopped in there, and really liked it. It's a great place to stop in and grab dinner for a reasonable price! read more

The serving size is so subpar compared to the price. The rice that came with the grilled shrimp was cooked like soggy. There was like 8 pieces of zucchini in the side. The flavor of the shrimp was good. The servers need more training. They brought out the chicken fried steak covered in gravy when my dad asked for it to be on the side and the girl wouldn't take it back and didn't tell our server. The shrimp dip that they had was so watery like soup and had a gritty texture. There wasn't really any shrimps in it, also it was just drenched in oil. For the price of this place it's not worth it. They need to better train their staff and increase their serving size. read more

Worst steak I've ever had ordered medium rare got a well done, ordered the filet mignon that was not the cut I got. Service was terrible at one point we were attempting to get our servers attention she looked at us then turned away. On a work trip I was put up at a hotel with this place literally a stone's throw away right next door. If you show the server your hotel key card, you get 10% off your food (not your alcohol). After a few cold ones, I ordered a ribeye medium rare, broccoli, and some mashed potatoes. All of it was pretty good. My steak was cooked to temperature but was really fatty, even by ribeye standards. I like edible ribeye fat, but this one had too much grisly inedible fat. Still, the parts that I could eat were good and my server/bartender was friendly and attentive. The sides were fine as well, especially the broccoli, which is easy for a lot of restaurants to screw up. As I was walking back to a hotel 47 yards away from the front door of the restaurant, I had more draft beers than I normally would and they were cold and delicious. I was pleasantly surprised at how relatively inexpensive the beer was, even the ones I had after happy hour. They do close too early for my tastes (7:45) but it's in a pretty rural area so I get it. While it's not a place I would go too far out of my way to eat at, it's totally worth a visit in you're in that area. read more

Hands-down, one of the best, fresh burgers I've had in a while. Half pound Angus beef, cooked to the temperature ordered. Fries were good. Salads were good. Service was good. This was the worse meal we've ever had there. Not much on the special menu. I pick the spaghetti, bad choice. The sauce tasted like canned tomatoe paste with no seasoning. minus the grated cheese. All of our meals was luke warm, sitti g to long to be picked up. My husband steak was dry and overcooked, had to ask for the rolls. I think its very unfair to the customers,that they have the bartender as a waitress also. We'll go to the one in Willow Springs from now on. Drove from Springfield to try this steakhouse. We made a 2pm reservation. We ended up waiting until 2:30 in the dining room. Madison F was our waitress. Not very personable or competent, but not rude. We ordered 3 unsweetened teas and a sprite but received 3 sweet teas and a sprite. The sweet tea is barely kissed with sugar so we drank them without complaint. We ordered the Spinach Artichoke Dip and Fried Pickle Chips as appetizers. Our salad course came before the appetizers. The croutons were really stale. The salad was ok besides that. The appetizers tasted good but the Fried pickle chips were spears instead of chips, and the dip had a solid layer of toasted cheese that I needed to cut with my knife and fork before being able to use the stale tortilla chips to scoop the dip. Didn't clear any of the dishes before the entrees came out. We ordered 3 steak entrees and the cowboy pasta. All of the steaks were delicious and cooked perfectly. My dad had the cowboy pasta after asking if it was spicy and being told no, received a pretty spicy pasta dish in a pool of oil. It did taste good though, so use your own judgement on that. My corn was overcooked and bland. My spicy cauliflower was cooked perfectly but I'm not a fan of Tabasco, so I wasn't a fan. My husband loves them. His Mac and cheese clearly came out of a bag so it was pretty unremarkable but if you like KFC Mac, you'll like this. His mashed potatoes were grainy and cold. My mom's baked potato was huge and loaded and delicious. The waitresses were dragging tables across the restaurant which is concrete floors and bare walls, so it was hard to hold a conversation. The baby at the next table started projectile vomiting (not their fault, just adding to the ambience). It was not busy and chaotic at the same time. We traveled to Willow Springs for a wedding, this restaurant was recommended to us and we were delightfully surprised to find that by staying at the Comfort Inn (across the parking lot) we would get 10% off our bill at the restaurant. After driving most of the day, we were ready for a late lunch/ early dinner and walked over to Cattlemen's Steakhouse. We were promptly seated and offered beverages and given a basket of warm rolls and butter. The waitress was very friendly and helpful, making suggestions when we asked. The mushroom appetizer was delicious. Definitely made fresh and not from frozen. I ordered the steak medallions with mashed potatoes and grilled zucchini. Very tasty and the steaks were tender and all but melted in my mouth. The gravy atop the steak and potatoes was delicious, it had a very unique and almost sweet flavor. And one will never go wrong with grilled zucchini. The hubs had the steakhouse burrito with fries. It was quite a meal! The burrito was STUFFED with steak and veggies. My husband and I have dined here probably a total of 5 times over the last few years. 4 out of those 5 times either me or my husband have received the toughest steaks My most recent visit I ordered a 20 oz. ribeye (a $46 plate) and couldn't cut through half of it. I was able to cut three bites off and notified my waitress. The manager offered to replace the steak but at that point everyone in my party was done eating so I requested them to comp the cost of the steak. The manager refused to comp the cost since I had ate "most of the steak" which again consisted of three bites. What difference does it make to replace the steak and to comp the cost?! We were seated promptly, although they were pretty busy on a Saturday night. Drinks and food came within a reasonable time. The young waitress was sufficiently attentive. We ordered filet mignon's (which were about $30 each and included two sides or a house salad and one side)... both steaks were cooked exactly as we ordered them. Drinks were reasonably priced. Bathrooms were clean. Understand that if you stop here, this is truly a country town... So very disappointing. Just ordered a $30.00, 20 oz Ribeye, half of which was fat and under cooked, Luke warm. Potato was also luke warm. Not hot enough to melt butter. I cut 50% of the steak away (fat) and asked to send it back for being cold and 50% fat. They brought back half a steak, cooked properly and a hot potato and schooled me that I should expect 50% fat from Ribeye. As if! Second meal was Fettuccini Alfredo. Overwhelming garlic and did not taste remotely like cream and Parmesan. It was like midwestern fettuccini made with flour instead of Parmesan it Romano. Inedible. We left over half and we're never asked why. Best part of meal? Definitely not worth the money or should I say market value! It may be better in Mount Grove but I definitely pass up cattlemen's in Willow Springs. I won't eat here again. read more

Service was amazing! Staff was amazing. Food was very good but the smoked prime rib on Friday nights was overrated and overpriced.

What a pleasant surprise. We ate lunch here while traveling. I had burger and my husband had a prime rib dip. Both came with fries. If their steaks are as good as the sandwiches, they should be delicious. The restaurant served complimentary rolls while our meals were prepared. Our server was friendly and efficient. There are many positive things you can say about the new Cattlemen's Steakhouse in Willow Springs, Missouri. The ambiance is terrific, the staff are friendly, cheerful and professional. The food is probably the best in the area (South Central Missouri). The only "improvement" they could make would be to add a lunch menu. Our "lunch" bill was over $40 total. We ordered nothing special. Just lunch. A group of ladies at the next table said they used to go there when it was called Open Range and they would go every week for lunch to get together but now there is no lunch menu and the prices were just too high for a group of "Red Hat Ladies" to have lunch every week. We feel the same. It will be a great place for a once in a while Friday or Saturday night but lunch is out until they actually add a "lunch" menu with reasonable prices. Was apprehensive about that so stuck with lower priced items. I am sorry, I should have gambled. The Prime Rib Sandwich was quite possibly the best hot sandwich I have eaten in a decade. Found out that we got in just under the wire. Happy Hour is 3P to 6P, Monday thru Thursday. My sandwich was 1/2 price! I would happily have paid full price, it was THAT good. The fried pickles are no joke, but you had better be hungry. Pickle spears and probably half a jars worth of them. I am embarrassed that I didn't give this place more credit. Food this good should be available everywhere. Friendly staff, fast, hot food, and happy customers. What more could a business owner ask for? I am ready for a follow-up visit. My fiancé is a long haul truck driver and I have been along for the ride the last week. There is a nearby truck stop and Cattlemen's Steakhouse is a hop, skip, and a jump away from there. We walked over for a nice sit down meal. The restaurant was clean, bustling, and thankfully air conditioned. I had the bison burger which was massive, but quite lean (dry), with fries, and a side house salad which the server forgot to bring until after my meal when I didn't have any room left. I think she was new as she seemed unfamiliar with the menu, and had forgotten to bring her other tables things that they had ordered as well. She was pleasant though, and trying her best, I could tell. My fiancé got steak, baked potato and salad which was cooked deliciously and was very fresh. I had a yummy cocktail. The bathroom stalls were quite short, and if you're over 5'7" (which I am) you can easily see the person on the other side of them.
