    Half chicken, half veggies
    Kate Z.

Gotta love CAVA. It's my go to place next to UT campus. The portions are generous, the ingredients are good (although quality varies depending on their kitchen staff, like undercooked lentils), and the line goes at a good pace. I love the fact you get heaps of protein, so I decided that the best ratio for me is actually half chicken and half grilled veggies. The harissa and hummuses are great and usually flavorful enough for me to not need any additional condiments. Don't get me wrong, it's still campus food and the lines can be long, you can order online and skip the line. Will I be back? Of course.

That awkward moment when my bowl was so good (first timer) that I forgot to take a picture ^_^ The pita chips were also really good. I received excellent customer service, the lady who helped me gave me great recommendations but I ended up making my own bowl. I would ask what is "extra" before adding it to your bowl. This location is close to UT // Downtown so you may have to pay for parking. Overall, the ambience was chill and they had music playing in the background. Can't forget their natural juices // lemonades were so good!!!

Cava as a whole is a great chain. I appreciate how many vegetable options they have. The location specifically on Guad is hit or miss depending on who takes your order. Can be pretty stingy, especially with meat. In terms of meat, both chicken options taste great. Of course, the harissa chicken is a little more flavorful, but it does also cost extra. I've heard good things about the falafel as well (but keep in mind they only give around 3). Also, be sure to ask for a free pita!

Had a not great experience here. First, my portions were significantly less than my partners. I barely got any rice and the lamb meatballs were also dry. Also, every table here was extremely dirty and so were the bathrooms. The bathrooms are also not ADA friendly, there was an elderly man who we had to help open the bathroom door because it was so heavy.

    Burn scraps

I ordered around 7pm online for pickup and got a bowl with double meatballs. Instead of doing double protein or offering a substitute they proceeded to put this and some burn scraps hidden under all of the greens and grains. This doesn't even equate to one full portion, let alone two and it's extremely bitter and taste like grill scraps. I'm not one to complain online but since they won't answer the phone this is all I got. Thanks!

I have super bad eating habits and was presumptuous with Cava thinking it would lack flavor considering it was on my, "healthy food near me," google search. It was mighty delicious and packed with flavor. Fast, casual, and Mediterranean can't be beaten here. This location is on a relatively busy street but there is street parking, and parking garages nearby, usually you'd have to pay, so be on the lookout when you go out. It's a big location with a good amount of seating if you want to dine in. Restaurant looks and smells clean, and it had semi bright colored décor. If you like Mediterranean cuisine or want to venture into something new, I think this could be a good option. Especially if you're trying to have a healthier alternative to your common fast food.

    Grain Bowl with braised lamb

In the last year CAVA has become my favorite place to eat at. I've had it many times at different locations but my favorite one is this one right on UT campus. They let you build your own grain bowl with a big selection of unique toppings. They have many different pickled vegetables that all taste amazing. I usually just load my bowl up with most toppings. They also have great meat options including juicy braised lamb that's halal and falafel for vegetarians. They also have a really good selection of sauces to put on top that add a lot of extra flavor. I will definitely continue to go to this CAVA location, I have yet to be disappointed! Tips: - The braised lamb is halal - They usually run out of random toppings and sauce so it's always better to go earlier - The garlic sauce is awesome and I would also recommend one of their spicy sauces (hot harissa and skhug)

Kinda expensive but great food and location. Cookies are also good. The bowl is a lot of food, but I prefer pita. Worth it!

But by the time my friend arrived about 1:10 the line had disappeared and the crowd was quickly thinning out. I had the farmhouse club and my friend went with a salad (I forget which one). My sandwich was absolutely delicious and I cleaned it up. His salad was enormous and he couldn't finish it. He had enough leftover to take home for another meal. Neither came with a side but they are available for purchase. The restaurant is bright and cheerful inside with plenty of seating. And the staff are very friendly and eager to assist throughout the meal. The only downside is their prices being a little high for the type of setting so one star off. I will probably return anyway for the delicious sandwich. But I wish it came with chips!

I've been for both lunch and dinner, and lunch is clearly the peak time, which makes sense given the sandwich, salad, and soup menu. It feels built for the midday lunch crowd. The kitchen runs very efficiently, the line moves quickly, and online ordering is very easy. It's counter service, but I've taken meals to go a few times and everything traveled well. As of February 2026, it still has that brand new restaurant feel. The interior is bright, clean, and modern, and there's a ton of outdoor seating. However, you are just off 38th Street and across from the Seton medical complex, so al fresco dining may not be the quietest experience depending on traffic and time of day. Overall, a great addition to the area for lunch (or dinner).

I've only ever ordered takeout at the counter so I can't speak to the dine-in experience, but the service is smooth and efficient. Everything is always packaged nicely and securely, and the food is consistently delicious. They also carry other sweets worth trying like honey cakes and pistachio baklava. On the savory side, some dishes I've really enjoyed are the Mezze Platter, Beef and Lamb Doner, and Ribeye Steak Shish Kebab. I chose the crazy grain rice which is a mix of black rice and lentils, and the spicy harissa sauce. The ezme, pickled red cabbage, and adana were my favorites. The chicken was good too and the köfte meatballs were my least favorite of the bunch. The pita bread was also fire and super fresh, honestly one of the best I've had when it's heated up and warm. The box was completely packed and was easily enough for 2 meals or to share between 2 people. Zucchini Yogurt with Fresh Dill and Walnuts ($3.25): Not a fan.
