This place was a complete random find and easily the best halal food I've had. I was trying to find a halal spot near Rainey Street, couldn't find anything that sounded good, and had my Uber take me here on a whim. That turned out to be the right call. I got the beef and lamb wrap and the rice plate, and both were outstanding. The pita was fresh and had a great texture, the meat was packed with flavor, and the pickled red cabbage was the perfect addition to both dishes. It added just enough acidity to balance everything out. Even the rice deserves a mention because it was incredibly flavorful instead of just being something on the side. The owner was also awesome. Super welcoming, genuinely appreciative, and you can tell he cares about both the food and the people who stop by. I've eaten at plenty of halal trucks over the years, and this one is at the top of my list. I'll definitely be making the trip back. read more

This was my first time eating halal Indian mediterranean food and I am in love. I have now been once a week for the last 5 weeks! The flavors and quality of the food is beyond words. The owners ( I believe husband and wife) are very welcoming and the service makes you want to come back almost as much as the food.The area that the food truck is located in is new and the ambiance is spectacular. There are picnic tables and twinkle lights that make it a perfect date night. My personal favorite so far is the lamb gyro over rice. Can't go wrong with the beef gyro; they may run light on the chicken late; but "some like it hot" and if you do all you have to do is agree when he asks or ask him to make the rice "special" and you will not be disappointed. This place is definitely weird. And not in a good way. We ordered it 216 a.m. they close at 3:00. We got there about 2:30. As it wasn't online order. The order wasn't ready till 2:55. With about 45 minutes to make it and nobody there waiting for food. When we got there. You would think everything would be fresh. It was not The hummus plate with chicken, shawarma and falafel: Hummus had a very strange texture almost watery. Like it was old and separated. Or something else? The falafel was hot but had a doughy texture and was not the typical light 10 with bright green. It was very darkly colored like dark brown. It was piping hot but doughy in the middle. The chicken shawarma was cold. Like it wasn't even attempted to be warmed up. And they dumped a bunch of white sauce on it. Which did not help. There was barely any salad and I found it the old brown leaf in there. Overall, this is definitely a one star meal. The french fries were undercooked did not crispy at all. They drenched it and catch up a white sauce which I did not see on the menu when I ordered. I would have asked them not to. But then I would have still had soggy fries The beef gyro wrap is made with ground beef people! What the heck! You can tell me You put the same seasonings in there but guys if you're going to call it Euro you have to slice it. Not grinded. I don't care if it's the same spices. Texture matters! (what is it and where can I buy it in pints?) The rice is normal, doesn't have any bizarre flavors or creative spices which is fine with us.
