My son and I just polished off a couple of bowls from this wonderful place so I am inspired to support them with a review. We chose to visit CAVA for the first time since hearing great things about them-they did not disappoint. I had a grain and greens bowl with roasted vegetables (based on another review) and then added the roasted eggplant (smoky deliciousness), tzatziki (some of the best I've ever had) and spiced feta. Topped that with avocado, tomato/cucumber, Kalamata olives, slaw and finally the lemon tahini dressing-so good! My son started with a grain bowl (a base of brown rice, saffron rice and black lentils), then added mostly typical Greek salad ingredients but also the lamb meatballs and lemon tahini dressing. In between bites, he repeatedly indicated wholehearted approval-"This place is definitely a keeper!" (High praise from a guy with extremely high standards regarding the food he puts in his body) The staff were very friendly and helpful-which we especially appreciated in making our choices as first time visitors. The restaurant was also extremely clean. But the centerpiece is definitely the quality of the food -fresh, delicious, served up in generous portions. read more

This is by far the worst cava I've ever been to.The most insufferable, unpleasant workers. I don't expect Michelin star service but they don't acknowledge you, they don't talk to you when you're going down the line, they rarely even look at you or ask what you want in your meal so if you're not a regular you just kinda have to figure it out. They haphazardly throw half portions into your bowl without looking, I always have to ask for more. It's unfortunate because this is the closest cava to us but I will drive 15 minutes farther just to avoid these employees. read more

I used to love CAVA in DC but this location is a big disappointment. The location is so dirty and when I took my son to the bathroom our shoes stuck to the floor. They were also rude when ordering our food and paying. I keep thinking they will clean the location but it doesn't happen. read more

Good quick place for lunch! They got a few things wrong in our order but we still liked the food.

Really sad about this because I love cava so much! But first time I went to this location I got a takeout order, paid extra 2.50 for falafel and added the free pita bread on side and got home and saw that neither of those things were packaged in my bag :( I tried to give it a try again today and got the exact same thing, this time came with probably half as much food in the container as my first order, and with one little measly slice of pita bread. For $17 I think the bowl should be filled up... Additionally the lentils were completely undercooked and crunchy, like I was eating a bowl full of popcorn kernels. I usually don't leave bad reviews but I am really sad because Cava is my fav takeout for after a hard shift at work! I will try Garbanzos down the road next time. read more

I ordered the curated chicken bowl with avocado, feta, super greens, rice, and pickled onions. I can't find the name of it but it was the spicier one. Man, was it delicious. The serving was huge so it served as dinner and lunch the next day. It's hard to find healthy food that tastes so good. Be prepared to wait about 15 minutes at dinner time because this place has been discovered. You will not be disappointed. Everything was super fresh (no old avocado) and had the perfect amount of spice on it--not too hot. On a hotness scale of 1-5 it was barely a 2. Give this place a shot. read more

A solid joint for fresh and tasty meals. Everything's seasoned well and packed with flavor. I think they locally source as well. While you can make your own bowls or pitas, I found the pre-made, chef-curated bowls are perfectly satisfying. Especially if you like spicy food. Their portion sizes are really small, so when you order online, don't be afraid to double your scoops of things. I got ~4 falafel in my bowl and they were pretty small. Their garlic sauce is delicious. All in all, it's decent, but the price is steep for the portion they give you, and there's good local places that do better nearby. read more

I love the concept, so have given this CAVA location more opportunities than I normally would have. My past visit put the "nail in the coffin" and I will not be going to this location anymore. The staff is incredibly rude. It seems as if they want your visit to be as slow and frustrating as possible so you don't come back. The food is also incredibly inconsistent. Last time I got chicken in my bowl there were bones in a few bites, and the time before I was worried about how long the chicken had been out (it was room temperature in my bowl). They also have a pick up station, which you will wait at for 10 minutes for your order (totally fine if you're busy) with the staff making eye contact but not coming up to you just to find out they have kept your order behind the counter (did I mention they have a pick up station with other orders on it?). That paired with the customer service will most definitely ensure I take my business to the other locations in the Denver area. read more

I can appreciate the DC folks who have had good experiences at their locations and even those here in CO who have had positive experiences in the short time our Buchtel and Colorado location has been open. I have not had such a positive experience. This worries for me for the longevity of this location. Details of the experience are that I ordered curbside pick up at a specific time. I followed the online direction of calling when I arrived, only a couple minutes early. I was in the car with my husband and we waited about ten minutes longer before another car pulled up beside us. Via hearing conversation they had outside their vehicle next to us, we discovered they wanted curbside service, too. After going inside to inquire what the wait was about, one half of the couple returned with news that it would be at least an extra ten minutes longer as there was a "big order" ahead of them and they could wait or get in the regular line. My husband and I decided we should go in and check to see what was the hold up for us as we had ordered over an hour ago to have our order ready at this time for curbside service. My husband recounted his experience (because I waited in the car). No need for both of us to bombard the to-go counter. He said they were about to give our order to someone else with my first name, but they stated both my first AND last name to the patron. This woman acted very apologetic to my husband for almost taking our food. However, the server was not sincere in his apology, according to my husband. Hubby asked for the manager to see why it had taken so long to get curbside service and they were sorry because "they were really busy." Not acceptable. This was opening day. What does that say about preparedness? Sadly, we will not return to this location. We had hoped Cava would replace Garbanzo's, but Jerusalem's on Evans by DU supersedes both at this time. Best of luck, Cava on Colorado at Buchtel, because at this management level of service you they will need it. Perhaps if we feel frisky we will try another CO location - maybe... I went at 6pm on a Tuesday and the place was pretty busy, but each of the three employees I dealt with were totally friendly and genuinely upbeat. They were equally as nice to the lady in front of me who had questions about everything they serve. We've tried this place a few times via curbside pick-up. It did NOT disappoint! Fresh, zesty, and flavorful plus the serving sizes are huge (for the grain bowls anyways). Highly recommend the crazy feta...and I don't even like feta. The variety of sauces is nice, and really the only thing I would change are the falafel. They were just meh, which was sad because everything else was awesome. Definitely give these guys a try and download their app so you get points! read more

I have heard the rumblings about Cava but I was hesitant- I am now a convert and completely understand how my friends are so addicted! For a 'fast food' restaurant the staff was very attentive and welcoming - answering questions and actually caring that I was going to get a meal to my liking.
