DO NOT USE UNIQUE GRANITE IN OWENSBORO, KY I purchased…read moregranite countertops through Lowe's in Henderson, KY, who contracts with Unique Granite for the materials and installation. Since installation in April, 2023, 6 months, I've been trying to get Unique Granite to correct the seam where two slabs are joined in my kitchen. The seam is uneven and has a gap that widens toward the front of the countertop. A "Satisfaction Guaranteed" document that states I should contact them if my experience is less than 100%. I took them at their word on this. After attempting to work directly with them for 2 months, I stopped by their office and asked to speak with the owner. A somewhat unfriendly man told me that I couldn't talk directly with Unique and I'd have to go through Lowe's if I wanted to communicate with them. When I asked for his card, he gave me a business card for a company called Always Outdoors Lawn and Power, with someone else's name crossed out and his name, just "Rick," scribbled across it. I've had an ongoing open Work Order with Lowe's since that time. It's critical to note here that when Unique has sent crews to my home, each time they've given me the same assessment. The particular style of stone I chose cannot be smoothed out with a GRINDER because there are metallic flecks in it that will be exposed and will ruin the surface. And, more recently, remarks have been along the order of, "That looks bad. We'll have to talk to the owner and get back to you." Of course they don't. The last person they sent out, 9/21, was their "BEST" man, who can fix anything. (Why now?) Lo and behold, he gets out of the car with a GRINDER. I asked him about the others who told me this granite cannot be ground or it would be ruined. His response was, "it would definitely change the look of it." We agreed that wasn't the best way to resolve the issue. Now, Unique Granite has lied. They've told Lowe's that I refused to let them resolve the problem. I know they can fix it. They just don't want to spend any money to make it right. Shame. Since the initial deposit, I haven't paid another dime to Unique Granite. I've stayed in touch with Lowe's and their Customer Service people. But I'm at the end of my rope.

I was told there was water in my trunk line, but there's none and it's completely dry. I was told there were "clogged drains" off my main air trunk line (which doesn't make sense at all) which was the cause of the mold throughout my ductwork, but the HVAC contractor that viewed them stated those aren't drains and just pieces holding up the insulation; he even explained that what I was told wouldn't make sense because you can't have a "drain" that only blows out water and not air. I was told that my 2x14 registers were too small for adequate air flow, but that was also determined to be wrong. I paid $200 to get to the root of my problem, but all I got was a bunch of made up lies. AND THE LIES CONTINUE!!! I was told I would be getting a refund because everything I was told in my inspection was WRONG. Now over a month has gone by and still haven't received the check! STAY FAR AWAY - what a SCAM!

When he asked to see the receipt they mentioned that they weren't replacing with the same flooring because they were updating the apartment. He also only received one notice and it was a FINAL notice. There are other options in Owensboro and I would certainly consider VERY carefully if you intend to lease from this company. Now I am moving out of state and they refuse to go month to month for one month! I was forced to sign a lease or they were going to automatically put a lease in place and raise my rent by 10%. Really, could you treat a responsible renter worse than that? I also told them that it is illegal to charge me and someone else rent at the same time for this apartment. They said their maintenance might not be able to get to my apartment to clean it up for 2-3 months so I would be expected to pay rent during that time. Unbelievable way to treat a perfect three year tenant.
