I was looking forward to such a highly reviewed place. The hard part was finding parking! Must be nice to have a local, walk-to location - I am very jealous of that! The inside was inviting. Lots of folks having coffee and conversations. So much stuff on the menu that I had to let a few people ahead of me so I could review all the options. I ordered a drip coffee and a sandwich. Now comes the part that sort of set me off. I ordered and the hostess flipped the pay screen to me and it was asking for a tip! And if I recall 20% was the default low. I won't say what I put but it was more than 0. I sat down and eventually and my sandwich was delivered. The Baristas didn't seem to have time to talk to anyone else but each other. They didn't even acknowledge a thanks or anything from the customers. My coffee came out soon after. The food and coffee was good but I sat there confused by the tip. They took my order and brought me my food. I had to get up and get my coffee, get up to get refills, and bus my own table. Wonder what the tip was for? This is an absolute girl power house shop!! As the name says it all, this is a woman-owned business that has so much uniqueness to it. Firstly, it's located in this tucked away area where modern/trendy residential buildings surround the shop. Its mostly green exterior so matches the grass color of the park (Prospect New Town Park) right in front of it. They are LGBTQ friendly and their core beliefs appear to be clean-drinking, clean-eating and gluten-free. The owner cares about what goes into our bodies so her TLC is what we will get if/when we people dine here. This is the absolute model of a good socially responsible business owner's motto and vision to say the least. The shop is quite spacious inside and out. I especially found the second floor deck to be open and relaxing (although there isn't/wasn't much shade to be under to avoid the direct sunlight (also there were very limited numbers of tables and chairs; I am pretty sure this can be more conveniently accommodated upon request?) An ice cold iced tea sounded good to me so I got me the Mango one (12oz) and the Broccoli salad. The salad was a bit small for the price and yet I enjoyed the ingredients that tasted so healthy. The iced tea was a nice accompaniment to my salad as it was refreshing and a bit tangy. The workers are/were friendly and welcoming. They all seem to reflect the owner's core values: everyone deserves to be respected and have clean food and drinks. This is so my kind of place. I felt safe there. The banana bread latte was amazing and so was the avocado toast. The avocado toast was small but tasty and workers are kind. The second day I got the tropical dreams smoothie and it wasn't the best. One of my favorite places to go for breakfast and a chai. So, it was a no brainer about where I wanted to go for my birthday breakfast. It was a gorgeous day out, so we sat outside on their shaded patio. I had the Cavegirl breakfast which included eggs, toast, avocado and turkey bacon. Healthy and delicious! They have several types of chai and my favorite is the sweet one. I had mentioned in a previous review about how this place is 100% gluten-free (good for my husband) and uses healthy and clean ingredients. The owner is very nice as are the employees. I've wanted to visit here for ages, so I'm glad I finally made it up here from Denver. Cavegirl Coffeehouse has a fantastic menu and best of all, they're 100% gluten free! We tried a pumpkin spice cookie and a chocolate chip cookie and both were delicious. We had a veggie sandwich which was decent, but with the usual tiny slices of gluten free bread. The real star here was the side of cucumber salad. I was a little disappointed with the espresso, which was bitter despite being a honey latte. The barista also spilled part of the drink and just wiped it up, without offering to replace it. (Not great for a photo op.) I love the concept and the ambiance, but overall, it's a little too far away and the service underwhelming to make it a regular place for me. read more

Cute spot with lots of outdoor seating (and some indoor seating) near the corner of 100 Year Party Lane and Tenacity Court. I love the names of the streets in this neighborhood. We found free street parking relatively easily and walked less than a block to the coffeehouse. Staff was friendly and there was only one person ahead of us in line. I had the honey latte which was a bit too sweet for my taste, but I can see folks loving this, especially since it's all natural: they pride themselves on not permitting any artificial ingredients in their coffee and meals. My bf had a cafe au lait which was superb! We each got their avocado toast with salmon and Munster and while these were well executed and tasty, we found them a little small for both the price point and our appetites. Lots of people were here working on computers or catching up with friends- overall really nice vibes. Gender neutral restroom was clean and well appointed. They sell coffee to make at home and some snack items like CBD chocolates. I'd definitely stop by again when I am in the area. Note that there are also a number of other cool businesses in the same neighborhood, after visiting here. I would not recommend walking to Downtown from here- we started to it's a long stretch of highway before you reach the downtown; just drive. read more

I have always enjoyed this place very much--until recently. It's a particular group of customers that is the problem, not the staff or menu. I am visibly nonhetero, and the large, loud clique of yuppie moms (who hardly buy anything and let their kids do whatever!) was making snyde remarks about my clothing as I ate my meal nearby, worked quietly on my writing, and tried not to let them distract me. I love going to this joint! It's in a very artsy and cozy part of town that makes it a great stop on a walk in a nice neighborhood, and it is also super fun to make a stop at. Foods always tasty, I really enjoy their GF donuts a lot (though one should check out the donut's weekly menu as they rotate, and also definitely go early to snag!) Their other sweet offerings are great as well, the Buckeyes are my favorite, but the other protein bites have all been good. The servers have always been so lovely, answering any question I have (even goofy ones when I just misunderstood something and needed advice on which DF alternative was the best for what I needed). Cavegirl Coffeehouse is one of my favorite cafe's in Longmont! It is an enormous building from the outside, which excites me because it has ample places to sit and work for a while. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about their menu. They are well known for being completely gluten free and healthy food options. I ordered a Strawberry Creme Latte, which was DELICIOUS and very unique. The strawberry puree was homemade. I wish I could have tried more drinks, but love the special menu. In the summer time, this place is great to sit outside and they have an upstairs outdoor patio. Cavegirl has plenty of couches, a fireplace, and big tables for you to choose from if you need a space, but plan on getting here early otherwise you may be out of luck! 10/10 recommend coming here and enjoy the great menu options! read more

This place is everything. We loved that all the baked goods are gluten free (and dairy free?). As an added bonus, the two we tried were also delicious! That's not always a given. I am going to come back here and will revise this review in the future if warranted because I would love to be able to change this. I met a friend there just before 1230 and noticed the door had a sign reading they would be closing early that day at 1pm due to staffing. No problems there even though I was meeting a friend for some planning over lunch. I went in and was verbally told by someone bussing a table about the closure which I acknowledged. As I entered further beyond the warning, I could hear a sigh. I went to the counter and ordered right away. They reminded me at the counter they closed at 1 but it was delivered with a pause as if I might want to reconsider my order. I had been looking forward to enjoying a GF avocado salmon toast and traveled from another town for it. Good GF meals are harder to come by. Though I felt very disruptive to their day, I promised I would be quick to eat and ordered. It came out at 1235 in a to-go box even though when I ordered I specified I'd be eating in. I'm pretty easy going and thought that would be fine. But, it was wedged into a small box and it was a bit difficult to access with such big silverware so I asked for a plate to put it on and was reminded once again about them closing. I said "Oh yup, I heard that." The woman who told me paused as if that were the final answer to my plate request. I looked around to read the room and the place was full and everyone else was enjoying their things on plates so I did not feel disruptive to the dishwasher by any means. I did not feel welcome to that plate but got it anyway with another promise I would honor their hours. I felt pret-ty confident in my ability to eat a single avo toast plate in less than 25 minutes. I could feel all the frustration from her when I asked and a new wave when she handed it over. Why the attitude? Its just a plate. The actual space is awesome, clean and lots of different kinds of seating. The toast, though small, was super yummy. But the service and unwelcoming attitude from the staff could be improved on by quite a lot. It felt extremely transactional. Nobody welcomed me, smiled at me or thanked me. I walked out of there feeling like a pretty significant inconvenience when I was trying to treat myself. I'm positive that is not how a small business would want a patron to feel and that is why I am mentioning it here. I haven't had pointedly poor service like that in quite sometime. I will try one more time soon as I know that staffing can in fact be stressful to business owners and I do have empathy in that. I hope this is read before I get there next as maybe some reminders/training in service to the team in the interim could improve the experience. Genuine smiles, saying thank you or authentically welcoming your customers even with unexpected issues, scheduling or otherwise, is the easiest, cheapest way to give someone a good experience. If it were one person I would look the other way but I had really unprofessional encounters with 3 total employees.
