There was staff literally drinking and driving around the campsite while kids were playing 20 feet away. We waited almost 2 and a half hours just to get our floats dropped at the river. Then they hit my friends with a random $100 charge after everything was done. And it gets worse: they talked a few of my buddies into hauling and stacking all the rafts at the end of the day -- unpaid. When we called to ask about the extra charge, they straight up called my friends "pricks" The cherry on top? As I was leaving, one of the employees had their car doors wide open with what appeared to be a meth pipe and torch sitting right there on the seat. In broad daylight. Unsafe, shady, and completely unprofessional. Save your money and your sanity. We'll never go back.

The end of the "ride" has a giant green flag, where the staffs help us get out of the water. We had amazing time and would recommend it. From the minute we arrived to the moment we left we were met with hospitality, kindness, helpfulness and all done with a SMILE. I believe the man that runs the place is named Earl. Earl... YOU ROCK. The lifeguards at the pool were wonderful with one of my kids who was scared to go down the water slide. The lifeguard volunteered to go down it with her until she was comfortable with it. While I still wish I could walk down to the river from the cabins, it's really the only negative for me. The cabin sleep 2 in a private room, plus 5 more in the main room (one twin and 2 bunk bed sets). The main room also has a big table in the middle of the room with chairs that came in very handle when it started raining at dinnertime. Our friends in the cabin next door came over and we all ate inside. The kitchen was nice too. Nothing special, but it did allow us to finish up some food in the oven and have a crockpot going all day while we were on the river. And it gave us a small fridge. I also like that the cabins are really spread out. There is a big field with the cabins lining it in a huge circle, so you only have cabins to your sides and that's it. It really was a great setup to have 2 cabins that sleep 7 next to each other for a big group.

It's actually a small fraction of the 927 gigantic rock cave columns that make up this old, flooded mining cavern. This is a one-of-a-kind wonder that is spectacular if you enjoy caves. To discover there is no one to check in with; no one to ask questions (security;) and our emailed reservation receipt does not have our reserved campsite in the email. My husband spikes a fever the night before we are to float the river. They refuse to give us a raincheck for the float. Will only allow us to float the next day and keep our camper on site until the float is done. We miss the old owners and will not return. Before now, we have always liked our visits and our dogs too. It was great because dog friendly.

They were knowledgable about the river systems and lakes which made being on the water even more interesting. We've lived in neighboring Illinois for years but have only just started exploring the waters in Missouri. It was fun and a chance to spend time together in a different way. It also made me appreciate the natural beauty of Missouri. Seeing the turtles enjoying the sunshine was one of my favorite parts. It is a nice nature area nestled off Dalbow Road and near Highway 79. Here you have water access for your boats and jet skis. There are some spots available for picnicking and such too. I'd advise to arrive early if you intend on parking near the water access area since it has limited spacing for vehicles. The water that you will be getting in is a tributary off of the Mississippi River. Lots of people come down here to go fishing since they've got such an abundance of different fish such as bass, crappie, and catfish. Enjoy your visit!
