The man that originally answered the phone was super understanding and explained everything we needed to know. Our car had some brake issues in Selma on our way home from the coast. Unnecessarily rude and unapologetic about it. We called for a tow in late June (HOT) with an infant in the car and were told about 45 minutes. We ended up waiting and hour and a half. After the original time had come and gone I called their number to ask for an updated time and informed the guy on the phone we had and infant in the car (IN JUNE) the guy had a really rude tone as if I were the one inconveniencing HIM. He gave me an updated wait time (that was still 30 minutes off) and hung up abruptly with no goodbye. When the driver (Kane) arrived he was polite and professional. Most reviews of this business are good so it's possible I'm merely the statistical outlier, but just in case they actually read this you need to 1. brush up on etiquette and 2. not jerk your customers around on wait times. Saying itll be "10-15" when its 45 is pathetic. You get 1 and you earned it. read more

I crashed on I5 SB ten miles outside of Grants Pass and totaled my vehicle. OSP called Caveman to come pick up the car. Eric arrived after a while and got it loaded and made sure I was comfortable. It is very scary being in a bad accident far from home and not knowing anyone in town. He took me to my motel (yes, I crashed 10 miles from where I was already planning on staying the night), and grabbed everything that I thought I needed or wanted for myself and my dog. It took two days before I could get a rental and get to their yard to clean out the car, but the staff I talked to were very friendly and accommodating. I hope I never need a tow service again like that, but if I do, I hope its near GP. read more

The driver made a couple of calls and found a place that could see us immediately. Extremely overpriced. Over 1300 dollars to get my bus remove from a stuck position on a driveway. Didn't even used a truck, all they used was wood blocks to get me out. Could understand a little pricey but 1300 dollars? Way over priced. Totally taking advantage of a commercial bus company. read more

We were returning from a trip to Bend OR hauling a 38 ft RV when our truck broke down on I-5 a little south of Elk and we had to pull over on an big upslope curve with huge trucks whizzing by. We tried to get help from Good Sam and AAA, but got either an incorrect response (that a tow would be arriving within an hour or so - which never happened- or never got a connection at all). Finally called 911 (by then it was after 8 pm) who connected us to the Hwy Patrol, who found Caveman Towing for us in Grants Pass. They came to our rescue with a giant truck that was able to tow both our truck and big RV. After we got to their office it was well after 11 pm but our tow driver John then drove us about until we found a motel that could accommodate us! The next day they helped get our truck to a Ford service place while allowing the RV to sit on their property. We are ever so grateful and appreciative of their efficiency and kindness to us ! read more

Our Dodge truck broke down on I 5 just north of Grant's Pass, OR. AAA(which was NOT easy to work with) gave us Caveman's number. They were awesome. Great, fast service. Worked out the AAA problems for us. Mike was great to us. Towed the truck while it still towed the RV and got us to an RV spot and the truck to the dealer. I was passing through when my battery light came on in the pass. I called around for a tow because on a truck with over 250,000 miles, I didn't want to chance the electrical cutting out. Caveman towing was friendly and professional. The truck showed up much faster than I was quoted and the process was quick. Butch was friendly and helpful. zero stars. negative stars if i could. quoting me $140 dollars to tow my vehicle 1.8 miles. get the heck out of here with that garbage! what a complete joke. you're supposed to be in the business of helping people... not bending them over and railing them for every penny they have. then you complain to me on the phone "well i gotta come from far away up on the north side of town so thats why its so expensive"... i got news for ya pal, your location is exactly 5 miles from where i was broken down at. a 10 minute drive is not far by any means. your job is to help the customer, help the person in need and have some basic sense of decency and compassion that they need your assistance. you can't treat people like this. what a terrible way to run a business. i will NEVER use your services or recommend you to anyone. read more

Driving from Oregon to California through the interstate 5 at midnight when my cts suddenly lost power. When flooring the gas pedal I was only able to go 30 mph. We were able to coast into Grant's Pass, and contact AAA. Caveman towing arrived within the 20 minutes and Butch towed my car to the nearest hotel. Our motorhome driveline was about to fail when we arrived in Canyonville Oregon. The Peterson CAT shop in Medford recommended Caveman Towing and they did a great job, arriving promptly, and the driver worked hard to remove the damaged driveline for towing. These guys I thought were a class act but they are greedy jerks. They are the AAA tow yard for around here and next time I need a tow and call auto club I'll wait two days for another company to tow me. Had a jeep OFF road that needed towing. Can't use AAA for that. I wanted to pay then to tow it down the hill to the pavement then call AAA and convert it to a AAA call. I told them this is what I wanted to do. NOPE the won't get me off the dirt road UNLESS I pay them to tow it to my house. NOW if I would not have said a thing. Had them two to the road and drop me. THEN called AAA they would drive right back out. BUT no, I was honest and told them the truth and they tried to put it too me. THIS is my Son who is broke down an Army Infantry Paratrooper just back from a two year deployment. Told them that. So what was the response. WAS not asking for anything free or break on price or to do it right away. Jerks. I don't do business with jerks. read more

Our 34 ft. RV's fan belt broke just as we came to the summit of Sexton Pass, north of Grants Pass. For whatever reason, our roadside assistance operator sent Caveman Towing to our location. First off, we thought the tow truck was not up to the challenge of a 34 footer. Especially since the tow truck driver just stood around and looked like he didn't know how to hook it up. Then he informed us that he could only take two passengers in his truck. We had 3, so called a cab to take 2 of us to Grants Pass. (The operator was clearly informed of the size of the RV and the number of passengers. If they didn't properly inform Caveman, then perhaps my peeve would be towards them as well.) The driver told us it would only take about an hour to get the RV to the repair facility. About 3 hours later, it finally showed up. The repair crew (not affiliated with Caveman) got to work even though it was almost closing time for them and had us back on the road again. Next time, Caveman, send a more experienced driver out for the big rigs. read more
