Driving by and I was told by my future son in law this is a serious place to buy western wear. As u walk in it is just massive. As I was browsing around I decided I wanted a belt. Connor gave me an overview of what they had. I like the ostrich and gator belts alot. So many colors and shades overwhelming. I went with a black ostrich belt, love it. Connor so knowledgeable, patient and impeccable manners. We came the next day my daughter has an audition for a country singer for a movie on Friday. Jenna spent alot of time with my daughter to assemble an authentic outfit so she will be ready. While my daughter was being helped another employee gave me a cowboy hat 101 class and it was interesting. There is a steam machine that can form ur hat to different looks. U can get a real cowboy hat starting at $30 to $500 which are displayed on the wall, I think he said the wall hats have a beaver blend. This review is actually for the new Cavender's that opened in New Braunfels by the Lowes on 35N access road. Got serviced by a REALLY great and sweet sales rep named Bailey, who definitely went above and beyond to make my shopping experience just fantastic. I went in yesterday (02/21/26) and bought a pair of boots, but got the wrong size. I wore them for about an hour and got a huge blister on my heel. I brought the boots back in today (02/22/26) and Bailey assisted me with the utmost courtesy and grace. She didn't criticize or condescend me because of my mistake. She understood I made an error and did what she could to help me out. After I found a correct size and fit, I selected a nice pair of Justin's and just needed to have the right boot stretched just a bit, which she said would be absolutely no problem and told me she could have my boots ready for pickup in 24 hours. She gave me my refund on the difference with a very pleasant smile and wished me a good rest of the day. In my 65 years, I have never had a more gracious experience with a sales rep for any store and today ABSOLUTELY made my day. Thank you, Bailey. read more

There are 2 racks with a brand called rock 'n' roll denim. They have jeans and they have shirts of the same brand that also say "rock 'n' roll denim" brand over the rack, I picked two shirts in order to get the 50% off the second one and at the register the cashier who is very nice wasn't sure why it didn't ring up as discount and asked the manager who was counting money on the other side. Without turning around the manager, Maddie, said it's only jeans. I said pardon me, but that is very misleading. She didn't even turn around or respond. She was incredibly rude. I had found boots to my liking at the San Antonio store but they were obviously returns. The soles were badly scratched from being worn outside and they wanted full price. I went in to get our 1 year old a pair of boots. They have the kid's section off to the back left corner as you walk in. I had Amanda helping me find the right color/size boot I was looking for. I was able to walk in, locate the perfect pair of boots for our son and walk out happy in less than 15 minutes. That's the kind of shopping experience I love... easy, to the point and quickly leaving out of the store completely satisfied with my purchase. I will be back, as I have in the past to purchase more boots in the future. Update: I called inquiring about a pair of Lucchese boots. These are a pair that my husband has been wanting. We spoke to Ruben and he was very helpful and knowledgeable. We told him we'd come in so he could further assist us in our transaction. When we got there, there weren't any free sales representatives available so we just walked to the area of my husband's boots size. We were there for a good 10 minutes and that's when Zeus came to ask us if we needed help. He was very knowledgeable and helped us a great deal. I'm not a big online shopper, but I was in a pinch for an outfit for an event so I found myself late night online shopping on their website. Of course several of the items once I tried on I didn't want to keep, I was able to return at the local store without question. I found that very helpful. My only comment is I found the staff in the store not interested in helping the customers that were there when I was looking around. I've been to this location and the two others and except for the store in San Marcos this seems to be the norm. They seemed to be more interested in talking to each other than helping customers. Being from NY, I'm not very educated in the style of Country. However, visiting TX, you must leave with one of three things: a Cowboy Hat, Cowboy Boots, or a nice big belt buckle. My family recommended Cavender's with no hesitation. When I first walked in, it was a blast of country straight to the face. A very well organized store offering a plethora of Country paraphernalia: Shirts, Hats, Pants, Boots, Wallets, etc. Walking into the boot section with a fervor for Alligator and Snake, I had no clue what I was doing. Tanner, promptly found his way to me and guided me into the world of the Country Boot. Explaining each toe-style, what colors will work for what occasions, texture, care; I felt like a Boot Aficionado. Although I wanted the $700 Alligator Back boots that wore like a Tennis Shoe. I was able to find the same fit with a more conservative riding boot priced at $180. Tanner's focus was on the right boot for the right price; not the right boot, for the right commission. Came to visit family for the holiday. Decided to go get me a nice pair of boots, since they're harder to find where I'm from. Had a fantastic experience in the store, staff was friendly, helpful, and patient. I tried on a pair of boots at size 7 and 8, and thought I needed a 7.5, so they were kind enough to special order it for me. Well, the 7.5 came in and turns out the fit just wouldn't work, so I sent them back by using their online returns portal. After losing my order for over a week at their warehouse, I had to chase down my refund. The excuse was that "this is a new system" they had for special orders, but they made minimal effort to resolve the problem without my calling back and bothering them. I felt as though I was a huge inconvenience for kindly asking for my money back as promised. In short, if they fit in the store buy them, I wouldn't count on a smooth special orders/returns experience though. read more

At the recommendation of my cousin, we popped down to the outlets to check this place out since it was more than likely I'd get a better deal than the more traditional retail stores. The store was practically empty which I guess was in my favor so I could garner the full attention of one of the employees. I can't remember the guy that helped me but he was a native Texan and knew the style I needed to go for, it's almost like he knew me! He recommended some things in the way of hats, jeans, boots, belts, I kid you not that he really listened and confirmed to the style I wanted to rock. Fabulous customer service! Being new to TX, I felt obligated to get me a pair of cowgirl boots. That being said, I know absolutely NOTHING about them. My husband and I were totally clueless. In comes Erin. She was absolutely wonderful, with the patience of a saint. She answered all of our MANY questions, very patiently explained about the different toes, heels, materials, etc., etc., and even indulged my husband's whims of wanting to see (just for s**ts and giggles) some of the more exotic materials they had in boots. I may be the San Antonio girl but it was my husband who "had" to get cowboy boots. He's had it in his head that it was a necessity and his life would be incomplete without a pair. Originally he wanted a pair of Lucchese boots (again, San Antonio - represent!) but as much as I love them, my wallet just cannot quite afford such luxuries. Enter Cavender... We shopped for boots here for almost two hours. We could have stayed longer and still not made it through the entire store. However, we were on a mission. My German tried on at least thirty pairs of boots and finally settled in on a pair that was the Cavender brand. He liked the feel of them and really liked that the soles were leather so they could be easily replaced. That is part of the investment in boots.... Re-sole and carry on. He wore them that evening and the next day and they were breaking in just fine for him and molding to his foot as good boots should. The price was great, the style looked good, he was happy and my wallet wasn't begging for mercy. Customer service for us was great. We had many different sales associates helping him with style and sizes. All in all, a really good experience that ended with a satisfied customer. read more

He gave me one and then walked away that was it. Weird...my husband put it back for me because it was too big. They do have a good selection of boots it was hit/miss with service though. Heck, my profile pic is with one of their hats. 5 stars for products but a strong 1 star for service. It is getting progressively harder to give these folks my money. Came in to replace my straw had I bought 7years ago. No one offered to help. Other than the standard greeting at the door. I responded back, but to no more response. Too busy folding clothes. I'm glad that has a strong ROI. I am aware that I did not look like the standard customer with shorts and a tshirt and topsiders but my hats are special to me and I love to tell people where I got them. They are part of me. My husband and I shop at Cavenders all the time my husband buys all his work FR clothes and boots every few months. Tonight we were shopping and had 135.00 worth of clothes along with 270.00 boots. Usually the sales people are really helpful and so nice. One lady was kind of nice. As I was trying on boots, no one asked if I needed help, which I did. For some reason our credit card would not slide. We asked if they could enter the card manually. Apparently there is a few steps to this process. Another cashier came up and said we're not going to do enter it. It takes too long. We had to leave without our purchase. I will no longer do business with this store.
