Nothing ruins a shopping experience faster than commission-driven scavenger sales tactics. I walked into the store intending to buy a pair of boots. Not a single salesperson offered assistance while I browsed. I found a pair on my own, tried them on, and selected the boots I wanted without any help from the staff. As I was walking to the register with the boots in hand, a salesperson suddenly appeared and asked whether anyone had helped me. I told him no. He then followed me to the register, wrote something down on a yellow pad, removed a few stickers from the boots, and walked away. When I asked the cashier what that was about, she explained that he was claiming credit for the sale. Credit for what, exactly? He provided no assistance, answered no questions, made no recommendations, and played no role in my purchase decision. Yet he still wanted commission credit for a sale he had absolutely nothing to do with. Honestly, I should have canceled the purchase on the spot. The only reason I completed the transaction was because I needed the boots for an event that day. The entire experience left a bad taste in my mouth. There are plenty of western wear stores that value customer service and earn their sales honestly. Because of this experience, I will not be returning to Cavender's. read more

My fiancée was searching for an American brand cowboy hat for an upcoming wedding where he'll stand as a groomsman. Boot Barn had zero options for him. We got to Cavender's and I knew right away he would find the one... There were two options. The first he liked, but didn't love for about $250. The second he loved and ended up getting for about $477 (including tax). I say get what you love and look better for it because cowboy hats are sacred. (Listen to Chris Ledoux's "This Cowboy's Hat.) Austin was our patient and soft-spoken hat shaper. I'll be back to check out Anderson Bean boots for myself. Service is absolutely horrible... every time we've been in we get no service noses turned up to us.... I mean we ain't shopping for clearance. We are shopping Ariat FR clothing so. They never have women's FR either.... We just walked around the store and had several employees walk past us and never asked if we needed help. I guess instead of wearing my $70 pants and $70 shoes and $45 sweater should've wore my Ariat FR clothing.... And don't know why we continue to choose this store! We've come in and dropped $900 in one visit and still never got helped so.... Boot barn it is for use and online ordering from Boot barn or Ariat store online.... Amazing selection of work boots, regular boots and western wear. Ms. Taia was patient and helped me try on 3 different pairs of steel toed boots. I went in for boots, but also left with a boot jack, boot hooks, 2 shirts, jeans and a hat! I highly recommend Cavender's of Lubbock for any work or western wear needs, due to their selection, gracious staff and competitive prices! read more

Watch the register!!! Register charged a higher price than the sticker and the employee did absolutely nothing about it. Didn't even attempt to correct it or act interested in correcting it. Be careful out there. read more

Needed boots in a hurry so I ran in to grab a pair. The staff was very welcoming upon entering however at no point did anyone approach me to ask if I needed help. Once I approached one of the many associates around the store for help the service was stellar. I found the exact boots I wanted. As with all boots they usually take a little to break in but I learned a little stretch in the right paces on their machine really does the trick. It makes them immediately all day wearable with no foot aches! Levi was the go to for this. He was so accommodating and knew exactly what was needed. Thank you all! read more

I went in to get a pair of boots and socks. They were out of the boots so I just got a pair of socks. The young lady that waited on me had a attitude from the get go. As she was ringing up the socks she asked for my name and I gave it (she's typing this all in) then she asked for my phone # and I gave that. Then she wanted my home address. I asked if that was necessary to buy the socks and could she just "ring" those up? Her reply was, fine! She then tossed the receipt in the bag and threw the bag on the counter loud enough where the socks made a thud. Without a word she turned and walked off: She has no business dealing with customers with that kind of attitude. That is another reason why I buy most thing online these days. Based on the parking lot I doubt this store will be open much longer. Won't be back that's for sure. read more

I know a girl that worked their and the other co-workers treated her horrible. Businesses that have co-workers that all treat each other badly will go downhill at some point. I do not recommend this Cavender's. read more

They are wonderful! Being of a certain age, I have a hard time ordering online. My grandson second birthday was coming up fast and I made a mess of my cavenders order. Traci Johnson and Ashley went above and beyond, fixed my order for me and the boy got his boots on his birthday! The boots are awesome! Beautiful ly made, perfect fit and he looks soooo dang cute in them! Will definitely recommend Cavenders to my Montana and Texas family. read more

Went in on 12/16/19. Impossible to get waited on (maybe because I was wearing a hoodie, sweats, and a golf cap instead of western wear). Found what I needed on my own, then got bounced around from one cash register to the other, then cashier answered the phone while ringing me up. Never was acknowledged as I entered. Never got a "thank you" for my purchase. Was not acknowledged as I left. A bunch of kids working here with no social graces, no courtesy, no respect for customers, and, apparently, no training or supervision. The store management should be fired. I'm never entering that building to buy anything again. read more

This Cavenders is definitely one of the nicest and most organized stores I've ever been to. Most workers are friendly and ask you if you need help. However, during my visit, as I was checking out the lady that was helping me was very rude. She was demanding and telling me what to do, instead of asking me. Then before she even handed me a receipt started to walk away. This is the reason why I didn't give them as good of a rating. read more

My wife purchased some new work boots online from cavenderS for me ( so I'm sure the lubbock location is better) but we will never buy from the name again! First they charged my credit card twice for the same thing and said "that's just how we do it, but the charge should be gone in 3 days" ordered 2 day shipping so they would be here by Saturday and the confirmation shows 2 day but we're they here in 2 days? No! So no boots and my credit card is maxed out now waiting for the charge to go the extended period for it to dissapear. I order online all the time with nothing like this ever happening and the times something has they at least offer to pay shipping or credit account to make it a little better but not these guys. Good selection of boots, but employees need some serious training. The boots I wanted were damaged and the last pair, so I asked if they could in-store order a new pair (or if I should just order them online at home). I had 4 different employees try to assist, all of which were remarkable confused by how to place an in-store order. I guess this is not something offered at Cavender's?? Good western store with a good selection, but you can tell they work on commission there. Not a lot of great customer service here. Been in several times and seems like they have better things to do. Took my hat in to have it reshaped and was told it could not be done. I took it into Dollar Western Wear and they reshaped it perfectly. Better customer service and this place would be among the top. read more
