Throughout most of the process, we acted in good faith. Unfortunately, ongoing delays, communication issues, and later interactions soured the experience. This became THE most stressful part of our wedding planning and each interaction left me emotionally drained. Sharing below a timeline of events for additional context: On April 18, 2025, we had an introductory call while Jill was driving. I stated two non-negotiables (1) no tropical elements and (2) no green-and-white palette, which were reinforced in an email sent May 6. We agreed the project would be completed before July. Jill said on May 8 that we were "on her schedule this week," however the first design did not arrive until May 26 and featured green-and-white palm imagery, contradicting what had been stated. I provided immediate feedback, and Jill requested a call but did not respond until June 1, apologizing and citing her daughter's graduation. A second version arrived on June 6, but Jill required me to make all key design decisions rather than exercising independent design leadership. I created detailed mockups and visual references to move the project forward; they were not implemented. A third version arrived on June 17, accompanied by another apology citing other weddings. Communication then stopped. I sent four follow-ups with no response until June 29, when Jill stated she was on vacation. On June 30, I made one final design request. There was no response after that. On July 24, my fiancé requested a refund, which Jill approved within three hours; We weren't entitled to a refund and appreciated her generosity. However, between October and December, four follow-ups requesting the agreed refund went unanswered. On December 3, Jill then retracted on the refund request and said the project was "left in limbo" because she was waiting on me to call, despite extensive documentation showing outreach on our end. Overall, this experience showed a consistent pattern of missed commitments, delayed communication, and lack of professional accountability. I would not recommend Copper Willow to anyone who needs reliable timelines, proactive communication, or a low-stress planning experience.
