Here we are again. Been at it with CBH since November 2019. Check out the images at min! I'm not here to bash and discredit a quality company...My family and I only expect standards to be met and to get what we our hard earned money paid for. We've had various interior issues, but those are to be expected when you purchase an average quality home. And I will say, CBH Warranty Department handled those issues timely for the most part. If it wasn't for the following, I may have given them a 4 star review... Moved in June 2019. Walked in after closing for the first time to our brand new home. We walked in to an unlocked sliding glass door, dirt all over the dining room floors from God knows who entering and exiting as they pleased into my under contract home, welcome basket ripped to pieces and the contents stolen, lights on throughout home, microwave open with rice in it, used toilets (poop, yes, poop)...new holes in the drywall since our "New Home Orientation" two weeks prior. After this NHO is over, they put on a big façade about how the next people stepping foot into this home would be our family...yeah, we either had squatters, drug deals going on, cameras in my vents, meth, who knows...Yeah, maybe a little far fetched but our babies live here and I'm thinking worst case scenario...and after we signed a contract for hundreds of thousands of dollars, we expect quite a bit more than what we walked into upon closing on our BRAND NEW, FIRST EVER, "DREAM" HOME. CBH sent three people, Christine C. Dan H and another gentleman to help clean the mess the next morning. Christine told me, "worst case scenario, some construction workers took a break and used my microwave." It was that small of an issue to her. They showed up to our door with a Ring doorbell (appears everyone gets lol), and a $100.00 Home Depot gift card. All before wiping down the mess with GLASS CLEANER of course lol I expected an actual cleaning crew, at minimum, for that awful experience. The first few weeks were not the easiest sleeping at night, we have kids, and what we walked in to was quite unsettling. This was unacceptable to us, and we insisted on meeting with Corey Barton. He actually met with my husband and he asked him what we wanted to make it right. We didn't want anything, just ensure this isn't standard CBH practice or occurrences. Since then, CBH let many balls drop throughout the neighborhood and seem to hold ZERO expectations of the crews they hire and are responsible for. Foul mouthed, driving over the speed limit, rude, trash all over, beginning construction work outside normal Noise Ordinance hours, vehicles blocking subdivision roadways on a regular basis without permits....the list goes on and on. However, here is our largest issue: New construction phase in November 2019 began around us. Three new homes to be built; one sitting slightly E/SE of us, the second S and the third slightly S/SW of my home. All three built and under ownership of CBH Homes upon concerns arising. All three to share our back fence that my family built in August 2019 (good selling point on these three homes for CBH, I bet too. You're welcome.) CBH elevated these three homes far greater than my pre-existing spec home. Upon raising concern, November 2019, these three homes only consisted of a foundation/crawl space and one 10x10 back patio each. We were told there was no issue and city inspections would ensure that. Setbacks on the S/SW home is minimal, 15' and the lot size is quite small as well, under 7000 sq ft. The City of Caldwell has a green disclaimer deeming this acceptable on the plat plan. However, drainage and proper grading for this lot, specifically, seemed greatly impractical. In this case, CBH points out they should have a Certification of Compliance, which would be granted if a suitable solution to drainage has been engineered and approved... We are currently still dealing with this exact drainage issue, along with drainage issues along the entire back perimeter of my fence. The issues are long and drawn out. This is only a small part of it. In addition to this, we had negative grading to our home which warranty assessed once and deemed acceptable, I did not, and asked for someone else's opinion. A second CBH warranty employee came out, immediately used a level :O Which identified negative grade, compromising our crawl space...How the City of Caldwell approved that, idk, that's another topic for permits and inspections lol Our lot also had some high and low spots throughout the yard. The team attempted a cover up job, buried my A/C unit in dirt, left only 2" of my foundation visible (which was pointed out as unacceptable, upon a Home Inspection we had completed prior to our 1yr).This addition of dirt to create slope away from the house created NEW (in addition to what was already there) low spots throughout the yard where water now settles consistently. Again, thank God for the heat right now, I am worried for next Spring though. read more

My neighbor has breathing issues and they won't work with him. Like him i have several cracks in my foundation under my home. My CBH home has water now in crawl space i hear its from clay under the ground here. I Know of 3 other homes with water under them. I have seen it for myself and i am sickened by it. I wish i had never bought here" Nails coming out of my home and other nails not sealed properly. Floors moving furniture unstable and my countertop moves A LOT TOO MUCH!!!! paint issues inside and out and now its cracking where my windowsills are connected to my home. Speaking of home i walked around and lost count how much paint is missing inside my home and out. I went under my home and found these 2 last night. Now another topic i asked the HOA Boardwalk Management if i could have a few things and was no all when i first moved in here. Andrew one of our neighbors was allowed to have a trailer in here and several poured cement and do other things. I am Hispanic and i know other Hispanic families who were also told no. In a time of Black lives matter we think this abuse is totally uncalled for. We read the HOA rules before we moved in and they forbid and boats motorhomes or trailers in here and they changed the rules for Andrew but no one else makes you think. My home is falling a part and so are others thank god my neighbor kept pushing me to check or i would have never found out. Next week my family is sitting down with someone to see how to pursue this i have time to wait on my warranty claim but as my neighbor searches we find that my family and others homes may not have been inspected to code. That maybe people are turning a blind eye to things. My neighbor is smart and he found out a ton of things. He went to the doctor after he was exposed to over 13 days of mold, yeast, bacteria, and fiberglass particles being exposed to the air by CTR Restoration a company CBH hired. He told me when the doctor asked him who did this to you and he told her she commented " so they are doing their old stuff again huh" People look down upon him because he is loud and more of a in your face kind of man but i am grateful. He helped me recognize the kind of home i have and if it wasn't for him i would have had no clue. Its gone this far because Cory Barton wont do anything. You call Jamie and she never calls you back. We purchased a new home from CBH Homes three years ago, and since then, we've faced numerous issues and poor customer service. Here's a detailed account of our experience: 1. Incomplete Driveway Our home has a three-car garage, but CBH Homes only poured concrete for two-thirds of the driveway. We had to pay extra to complete it ourselves. 2. Faulty Dishwasher The dishwasher emitted a strange plastic smell after use. We had to replace it at our own expense. 3. Cracked Foundation Wood A piece of wood in the foundation was cracked. We had to hire an inspector to identify the problem. 4. Uneven Windows The window frames are uneven, making it difficult to install blinds. Instead of fixing the frames, CBH Homes just provided smaller blinds. 5. Noisy Floor Our floor made a cracking sound. Despite multiple complaints, it wasn't fixed until I visited their office in person. 6. Garage Door Issues The garage door had persistent problems. Their contractor failed to fix it, and eventually, it crashed to the ground, causing us to replace it at our expense. 7. Shattered Oven Glass The oven glass shattered unexpectedly after minimal use. CBH Homes refused to replace it, so we had to buy a new oven. 8. Improperly Installed Window A window in our child's room was installed improperly, causing a large gap and increased utility bills. Although they fixed the window, they refused to cover the extra costs. 9. Missing drainage line One part of the drainage line around the roof was missing. When we reported this issue to them, they refused to fix it. Consequently, we had to pay for the repairs ourselves. Otherwise, the rainwater would have crashed to the ground. 10. Vent Screens Missing The exterior vents lacked screens, allowing birds to nest inside. We had to hire someone to install screens. Conclusion These issues have cost us over $4,000-$5,000 and countless hours over the past three years. CBH Homes uses cheap materials and avoids responsibility by relying on warranty expiration. My experience can give you a very neutral opinion. In my 13 years as a homeowner, across various properties, CBH Homes stands out as the worst builder I've encountered. Buyers beware: the initial savings may lead to significant costs and frustrations down the line. read more

Corey Barton has been illegally maintaining control of the incorporated entity in the State of Idaho known as "VILLAS AT CRYSTAL CREEK OWNERS ASSOCIATION, INC. (THE)" They have outsourced their protection money collection racket to a P.O. Box under the name of Star Property Management. For the past few years, as legitimate homeowners in the Villas at Crystal Creek Subdivision have communicated concerns about being assessed ongoing fees for things required in the CC&Rs that are not being done, we are met with silence, condescension, and obfuscation. The following is just one example of the responsibility-dodging we have endured: "In order to get the HOA started, CBH Homes does initiate a temporary board and hires an HOA property management company. CBH Homes does not receive any of the HOA dues. These dues are deposited in your HOA account, managed by the HOA property management company, and all funds are accounted for and used to maintain HOA costs." To the author of this meaningless verbiage and everyone who has written similar missives: You and every other person who posts this tripe are are bald-faced liars. Star Property Management has, by their own admission, literally NOTHING to do with the running of our HOA. By their own words, ALL they do is collect money for Corey Barton. Star Property Management is the "bag man" for the illegal, illicit, immoral operation known to the State of Idaho as "VILLAS AT CRYSTAL CREEK OWNERS ASSOCIATION, INC. (THE)" I have recently discovered that the specific and most guilty individuals are those who have named themselves the Board of the Villas HOA without following ANY of the legal requirements of the DECLARATION OF COVENANTS, CONDITIONS AND RESTRICTIONS for this neighborhood. None of them lives in this neighborhood, nor lives or works anywhere in our entire COUNTY! The perpetrators of this egregious scam against the REAL owners and residents of the complete 32 developed lots are as follows: Corey Barton: "President" Serena Clark: "Director" Adair Koltes: "Clerk" These individuals are perpetrating an illegal extortion ring against the TRUE Homeowners of The Villas at Crystal Creek subdivision. I intend to see that they--and anyone else who has aided and abetted their conspiracy--are brought to justice. read more

Here is how the breakdown of how my stars go: I am giving 5 stars to megan and the crew at the CBH office in Kuna. Megan went above and beyond to try to address any concerns we had. She answered our questions and pushed to get issues resolved. I give 5 stars to the warranty department. They are on top of it and have had someone out within days of us filing about any issue. They have fixed quickly and are always friendly. I give 4 stars to the design center. I wish I could remember names but I just can't. The first girl who helped us, was argumentative and didn't really explain things great. I refused to work with her again. The second girl who actually marked up our plans and recorded our design picks was much better but wish she would have paid more attention to detail. For example, I made it clear that I wanted a water spout in the front yard. She marked it on the plans and showed me. Sure looked like the front yard to me. But later as the house was built, we realized that it was actually going to be behind the fence. Would Craig (the superintendent) move it? No, because it was on the plans. Which I approved. All true but my degree is in Criminal Justice not architecture. I felt that is something design center should have paid more attention to. Their job should be to pay attention to detail especially when something is made known to be important to someone. I give a 2-3 stars to CBH as a whole. Unfortunately whenever there was an issue, Craig (the superintendent) fell on the "we have discretion" line which means he changed nothing and we were not happy. The electrician he hired, didn't label any of the wires (that we paid extra for) and when called out and convinced to come out and label. He put "bedroom", "bedroom", "bedroom"....not very helpful when we have five bedrooms upstairs and sort of a jerk move. We have had to call warranty several times to fix things and have already had to paint due to not a very good job. We do love our home. We enjoyed our experience with Megan. If I was ever to buy another home, I would consider another CBH but I definitely would advocate more for myself especially during the design center process and probably would hire someone to do a home inspection before moving in. read more

Where do I start... I'm so thrilled and grateful to have had Mark Enger and David Hoff over to help fix my flooring. Mark came over before the flooring team just to do a thorough inspection of the issue. He was very attentive to my concerns and showed me step by step why I was experiencing the issues. David was so detailed with every step to fix the floors correctly. In fact, he inspected my trim and dry wall in the kitchen to see how insulation was done. He found some places where air was coming through, and fixed it. David came so well prepared in contrast to other workers and the quality of what he uses far exceeded what I've seen being used thus far. He was neat and cleaned up after each project, very meticulous with whatever he did. He also went around a few places in my house to inspect and ended up adjusting, advising or fixing it. He was polite, witty and overall just a very nice guy. If you have an issue with your CBH home, MAKE SURE to ask for David Enger to come and look at/ give an honest opinion or do the job. TRUST ME, I've had quite a few (4+) CBH guys come through my home and talk to me about the job(s) that need to be done, etc. David will make sure the job is done right, it's aesthetically pleasing, cleaned up after and his spirit will definitely brighten your day. Secondly, I'd like to acknowledge David Hoff. David assisted Mark with paint touch up and caulking. David wasn't the usual guy who does a quick and careless job. He was very precise to ensure it looked neat, clean and properly filled. Previously, I didn't even have my kitchen baseboards filled and painted after install under my counter. But, David took the time to come ask me for my sample paint so he could patch and paint correctly. In addition to this, as David was leaving he notices my front door wasn't closing correctly, and it had give after its closed. Instead of not caring, and moving on, he informed me of what he noticed wasn't right. He and Mark went on to fix my front and garage door; they're perfectly working now! Such a breathe of fresh air when people come through who #1 know what their doing, #2 are super detail oriented and #3 treat your home and space as if it were theirs. THESE guys made me believe in CBH's quality and character. read more

We just purchased our second CBH home in Nampa, the first one more than three years ago. CBH had a great quality build back then, and still does today. Our final walk-thru revealed nothing even worth mentioning. I don't know what the issues are with some of the reviewers here, but I find them completely unfounded and perhaps written by people that will never be happy no matter what the builder offers? My wife and I have been agents in new homes sales for more than 30 years and we know that negative people exist. I'm sure the majority (by far!) of CBH homeowners are extremely satisfied with their new homes. One guy says cheap paint? Ours is fine after three years of exposure. Cheap materials? Other vague complaints? If true, why does CBH remain the largest builder in Idaho? Bad builders don't stay around long, my wife and I know that. Also, the sales office in our community was always responsive, helpful, and never pushy. That's a commendation for Renee, Cody, and every other representative within the organization. Special kudos as well to the design center experts who helped prevent us from making mistakes during the selection process. Again, no pressure tactics there either, which we greatly appreciated. CBH is highly recommended by us on all fronts and it's just too bad more positive and truthful reviews don't make it to this site in higher numbers. Cannot recommend CBH and their team enough, specifically the team of Megan, Sam, and Karissa !! I am new to Idaho within the last couple months, and although I was convinced that the area was where I wanted to be.....coming from Southern California, you hear the horror stories about it being tough to settle in as someone from out of town. Megan spent the time and effort to show me countless properties within a small window of opportunity for me while in town, and I was so blown away at the professionalism and overall kindness of everyone involved, that I was ultimately able to close on a home from over 1000 miles away. I absolutely love my new house, and am so excited to host the holidays for the entire family this year in a place I know is suitable for whoever comes to town. I have this team to thank for that. My background is in the real estate industry and I have come across quite a few teams over the past 20 years. I can assure you that you are in great hands with Megan, Sam, and Karissa! At this point I consider them friends and if you include Craig, the community contractor, and everyone online who was at my disposal from CBH......not sure if you are going to find a better company, or better team to assist you with one of your biggest decisions. It's been six months since we've moved into our custom built CBH home and we love it so much! We chose the Arden 1415 for our family of 3 and it's perfect! The open floor plan is amazing and we chose high-end finishes to make it look even better. I love that we were able to make it as fancy as we wanted!! We closed a week before the scheduled date in July and our CBH agent, Teschia was the best! If I ever had any questions she would text me back within the same day and always made sure we were happy. My mom referred us and within two weeks of closing, she got her check in the mail for $500! Woohoo! We moved in during the heat wave and unfortunately some of our sod was dying as they finished up construction.. The morning of our final walkthrough we pulled up to see new grass in the bad areas and extra fertilizer on the rest! It looks great. The CBH team seriously did a great job taking care of us! Not to mention they dropped a pie on our doorstep for Thanksgiving. The six months it took from start to finish was so worth it.. CBH has called to check on us numerous times and I know they have our back. Thanks so much CBH!!!!! read more

If I could give negative stars I would. I am reviewing them as an employee not a Home builder all though there are plenty of reviews on their workmanship. As an employer they spend entirely too much time pushing their culture, which usually means its fabricated. When you apply for a position they ask what your spirit animal is. Then they tell you to complete a 20 question pre-interview form so they can schedule a phone interview. Then they ask you to complete an 80 question personality test. They do not answer any questions about income or the position. Once you have completed what they ask for they send an email stating they will contact you if they are interested. Finally after reviewing their website again it's clear they only hire female sales associates. Lastly in an attempt to seem cool and cutting edge they have ridiculous titles for their positions. For instance instead of sales manager they call it Sales Catalyst or a Sales Associate is called New Home Sales Chief Moving Officer (Specialist) Really? Corey Barton should be embarrassed....... read more

Yes I understand CBH owns half of Nampa and pretty much has a monopoly on the entire city... yes I think my lot is too small... yes I picked a cookie cutter builder so I could get a better price. BUT! The Nampa CBH Team is seriously INCREDIBLE! Melissa and Troy never tried to get out of anything that would make me happy as a homebuyer. With their help I built a home I'm proud of. I got my personal touches and style built into my home through the Design Studio. No it's not custom but it will be with time. We had a flood the first week we were in our home caused by our dishwasher having a faulty part that ruined our kitchen and dining room flooring. CBH was quick to fix the problem and handled every concern we had during the process. Are there things I would change about my home after being the owner of this home for nearly a year, yes. Could I be happier with the experience I had with CBH, absolutely not. I want to say a sincere THANK YOU to Melissa and Troy and all the contractors that turned our piece of dirt into our home. read more

If I could give 10 Stars I would in a heartbeat! My wife and I were hesitant to start the warranty process because of a prior home we owned from another builder in the valley. We are so thankful and thrilled that we were paired up with Whitney B. in customer care to handle our warranty claim. It was the most pleasant customer experience we have ever had within any company. Our warranty claim required multiple contractors and was a four day job. However, Whitney's level of communication, competency, and positive attitude made the entire process absolutely seamless. She went above and beyond for us and treated our family like she would her own. Overall, she blew our ideas out of the water on what the warranty claim process looked like. As mentioned, we purchased a home in 2015 from another builder in the valley, and we are stunned at the differences between them and CBH. There really is no comparison. People make the company, and CBH is winning in that department with employing people like Whitney. read more

We recently bought a brand new CBH home in Caldwell and I cannot speak highly enough about the entire process. We weren't expecting to get approved as quickly as we did and just decided to give it a try to see what happens. We reached out to view a couple of homes and Stephanie Lupien responded very quickly. She was absolutely amazing throughout the entire process. She came and opened up the house for us on multiple different occasions. She was completely honest and very helpful. I would definitely recommend her as a sales agent. The whole process went very smoothly. The house is beautiful and in a great location. The man who did our New Home Orientation was very informative and listened/fixed any of the concerns we had. Haven't had any issues that needed to be fixed but we were made fully aware of the warranty on the house and who to contact if we have any problems. if you are looking for a new construction, I would absolutely recommend CBH. read more

She searched the availability inventory and showed me several homes online. I found one that I liked that happened to be three minutes down the street from my daughter's home. We could not have asked for an easier process to purchase a home. The North Ada Sales team kept us informed in every step of the way. They were always helpful with a smile. We had a lot of questions and they never made us feel like they did not have the time to be as helpful as possible. They made us feel like VIP's. We only had a short time to move to Eagle and with the resale market being so competitive we decided we would look for a new construction home. We are so happy we did. They worked hand in hand with our realtor to make it a seamless process. Everything was clear from start to finish and we even got some extra funds to add some finishing touches to our home. The home and neighborhood are beautiful. We love the design and options that came with the home. We even have a neighborhood park that is always full of families. If you want to know what 21st Century Customer Service should be, then you need to work with Whitney Bareither and her team. They are the greatest, and she is honest, FREAKING funny and goes above and beyond to assist you. I mean, she will not BS you with the answer and let you in on exactly what was wrong, how the problem will be fixed. No filter, No Hurt Feelings and just Good Ol American Customer Support!!! When the world gives you sissys, this customer service team gives you the true Idaho Neighbor treatment! If you want the sugar coat service go to their competitor (probably from California) but if you want honesty, work with this CBH Customer Service team. They are great!!!! The whole team has assisted with submitting my claims while I waited for access to the website and never once made me second guess if a claim should or should not be submitted. read more

Melissa Enrico has been such a breath of fresh air. From the moment I came into her office, she was so welcoming, friendly, beyond knowledgeable and well organized. She helped with buying my CBH home back in November 2021. I moved in January 2022 and I am so in love with my new CBH home. My parents are retired and came along with me to unpack. In the meantime my parents fell in love with the Nampa area and went in and met Melissa and she again over exceeded their expectations. She is so helpful and kind that they now purchased a CBH home a mile down from me. My wife and I have been married 8 years and never owned our own home. We recently relocated from CA to ID and this was one of the big factors. When we started our search, we really didn't see ourselves buying CBH and it was removed from our search criteria. After being beat twice in the resale market (even with our $20k over asking prices), we decided to take a look at CBH. Boy are we glad we did. We got a huge home 2600+ sq ft brand new and everything comes with a one year warranty. It has a giant flat back yard (not common in the CA homes we'd been renting), and alllll the nooks and crannies in the house are absolutely wonderful. We are truly elated to be living in our dream home ready to raise our 2 kids in a big spacious home with a big back yard (cause this plandemic thing isn't looking like it'll ever be over).
