We choose Gerald's as we trust them. We dropped it off at night, so they could diagnose the issue. They called us and said after inspection it was a tire issue. We went ahead with the service as they recommended it. When they called us to pick it up, I asked if they were able to confirm if the issue was resolved. If not, we could have it further diagonsed and resolve the issue. They told me they do not drive the cars after installing tires. Odd as how would they be able to confirm if the issue was resolved? Continuing to trust them, we picked it up and our car. Unfortunately for us, we have two new tires and a car that still shakes.

When I brought that car in a specifically said that I had brand new lug nuts on it and that I did want an impact wrench used on the car at all. Well, that didn't happen. I've now got some lug nuts that need replacement. When you look at the pics you'll see the damage. The fact that the paint at the top of the lug nuts has been scraped off also tells me that a shallow socket was used. A deep socket would never even come close to touching the top of the lug nut. Also, no attempt was made to keep the wheels clean. There are very big grease marks from someone's hands. That should have been wiped away. I'd use them again, but I'll also be sure to explain to them that this happened and that I wanted to be 100% sure it didn't happen again. And I'm dropping the stars from 5 to 3

At JTs', they were courteous and looked at the car. They just had too much work to be able to do the job at this time - they said all the shops in the area were really busy. But at least they talked to me and looked at the car. Then I went to Platinum. I parked my car right in front of their office window, walked in and said I needed an estimate. The receptionist said an estimate was $50 and would apply to the work. I said I wanted someone to just take a look at the car to let me know if they would even do the work and see if they would even have the time for it. I didn't want to pay $50 if they wouldn't even do the work or have the time. "The car's parked just outside, I just want someone to see if you will even do it". But she wasn't having any of that, said "We're good", essentially meaning goodbye and go. I said "Thanks for the HELP" and left. Platinum may not need me as a customer, but I don't think they need that employee as a receptionist either.

They also noticed one of my battery cables was rusted through and offered to replace it for a reasonable price with no extra labor charge. I decided to give them a try after a tire on my vehicle kept getting a flat. The staff was friendly, but beyond that caused me to submit this complaint. Mavis at 8511 Dorchester Road assessed that the tire that was losing air had a nail that was very close to the sidewall. I had the option to have it plugged. I chose to get a tire to replaced the tire that kept losing air. But I had to wait two days for delivery. The technician put 50psi in the tire. It only required 46 psi but since it had a slow leak, I agreed. All four of my tires were the same. A technician gave me a quote and ordered my replacement tire. It cost $25 but that price wias deducted from the replacement cost. On 8/21/26, I returned to Mavis to have my new tire put on the vehicle. I had to wait two hours but came prepared to wait. I left and by the time I got home I realized that indicator said that my new tire was underinflated. I returned to Mavis and a technician put more air in. This vehicle's front tire psi is different from the rear. That particular technician did check the inside panel for the correct psi for the rear tires. It was little inconvenient to come back. The next day before leaving home, my husband noticed that the tread on the replacement tire was not the same as the tread on the other three. Thus, a trip back to Mavis and they had to order the correct rear tire. I'm getting a little annoyed at this point. On 8/25/26 the new matching tire came in. However, I had to wait another 2 hours before my car was correctly serviced. After I get my vehicle back, I head home but the tire monitor inside my car said 0 psi but I knew that couldn't be right. I used my tire guage and found the tire only had 37psi. I already went through this one time. Somebody tell me how you can be a tire expert and not check the panel inside of the car to provide the correct amount of air pressure? Icing on the cake was that there was no cap (I ordered personally) on the tire. That did it for me. $400+ dollars for one tire and it has to be brought back twice because of incorrect tire pressure and no care to deliver the vehicle in the condition it was found. Mavis has kind staff, but they really need to do better.,

Somehow, the…read morenails did not puncture the tire so patching wasn't necessary and this is why the tire pressure light never came on. In spite of this, the manager told the guy at the front desk to charge me for patching the tire. I paid more than I ever paid not to patch my tire than I ever paid before. That doesn't seem very honest to me, so I will not be returning.
