I visited Honest-1 to have two nails pulled from my tire and have the tire patched. Somehow, the nails did not puncture the tire so patching wasn't necessary and this is why the tire pressure light never came on. In spite of this, the manager told the guy at the front desk to charge me for patching the tire. I paid more than I ever paid not to patch my tire than I ever paid before. Had a ridiculous issue with my Ford Explorer. The spring for the gas cap broke and it would not open. My gas light was on, I had my son and 100 lb dog with me and my husband was deployed. Called Ford and they said this was a very common issue, but, it was not an active recall and the warranties we had on the car didn't cover the repair (). Was going to be around $1500 to repair. Not only did these guys drive myself, my son and my dog home, they ordered the part and fixed my Issue for LESS than $400. I recently took my '03 Chevy pickup to "Honest" to have my A/C checked as it had leaked all the freon and was not cooling at all. After leaving the truck overnight they called and said I needed a whole new system to the tune of $1000 dollars. I declined( of course) and went to get the truck. They charged me around $230 bucks for whatever they did and I was on my way. Upon checking with a friend of mine I who is in the home A/C repair business if he could refer me to someone who was not going to rip me off and he did. I took the truck to that person and within about 5 minutes he told me what the problem was. Turns out it was a leaky valve on the high pressure line. He replaced that, added three cans of freon, charged me $180 bucks and I was on my way. It has worked great since then. If I could rate "Honest" less than one star, I would. Honest 1 is a very nice shop. As you walk in you are greeted by a super friendly staff behind the desk. It is definitely not your normal car-care center. For starters, they have complimentary sodas and Keureg coffee. They have a waiting area on the second floor with a big screen to watch. While I thought that my alignment took a bit longer than I had hoped, I did feel that thework was well done, and I drove away feeling as though it had been done right. The staff explained everything to me as if I were an intelligent human being and not just some "girl" who knows nothing about cars. Honest 1 Auto has always been fare and helpful every time I have taken my vehicle to them for repairs. Honest 1 goes out of their way to be everyone's local hometown auto repair shop. Recently I had to take my Chevy Uplander in to have a gas line that was leaking fixed. The mechanics splice the line an completed the repair. Two days later the gas line began to leak once more. I called hH1 Auto and they picked up my vehicle by calling a pick up truck, free of charge. When the repair was complete, I picked up the automobile, drove it home, and parked it. A week later when I started it it began to leak again. Needless to say I called H1 and once again they picked up my automobile free of charge. After three failed attempts at repairing the line, the mechanics ordered a complete new line from the dealer and installed it in my automobile, fixing the problem for good. After three tries, and four repairs I asked how much i owed them for the repairs and towing. The answer was zero dollars. This shop stood behind the repairs in such a wonderful way. Honest 1 Auto went far beyond what most companies would go in order to satisfy the customer! Took our 2012 for expedition in to be diagnosed in why it's eating up driver side front tires. They called an hour after we dropped it off saying to come get it it died after the "gave it too much gas" now my water pump is blown and the oil pressure is dropping randomly. I now see how they pay for it. I came in for a $19.99 oil change and was told after that I needed synthetic oil. I questioned it and called my old Honda shop from Ohio and they advised me I did. Dropped off the truck early for a for a Tune Up and air filter. Go back around 5:30pm and they are still looking for one calling to find one. Tune-up was not complete, they didn't change the wires, but said they looked fine and i'd be okay. Two weeks later, the truck is running awful. Took it back, said they think, think that the wires need to be changed and were doing a few other things. Replaced a spark plug, which they were all new because it had gas in it. They had told me what they were doing would cost $614. When I picked the truck, there was no difference, nothing was fixed, they just guessed at what the issue was, tried to fix it and I was out $614. Manager is very nice, was very helpful on the first trip for tune up, but I wasted $614 on their guess as to what the issue was. Won't be back. read more

Honest One is now my go to for auto repair. It's obvious that Sherry and Chris (owners) take quality and customer service seriously. Professional & friendly team, clean facility with a cozy lobby (mini fridge full of cokes and fresh coffee), and they do great work. They worked me in within a week from when I dropped by for the diagnostic, and fixed my car in three hours. The total for the repair was a bit less than the estimate I had been given last week. Chris happened to be in when I picked up my car. He brought out the damaged part and explained how they did the repair. I went in for an oil change. I noticed when the girl was giving me an estimate for the job, she continuously said the labor will be 3 hours and it will take 3 hours so I said ok. Then as I said ok, she went out to inform someone of my request for an oil change, the same guy took the car to the garage. After about 10 minutes of being in the garage, he came and said something to her. She called me back and said my brakes needed changing. I denied the service. So after about an hour and an the car was completed. After I paid, I noticed the labor was 474. and the oil change was 102. I questioned the charge and they said it was what the chevrolet company referrs. I said I am not at the dealership, I am here. Nothing changed. I ended up paying over 600. for my tune up. I will never ever return nor refer anyone to go there for anything. read more

Took my car in on a Tuesday to have the brakes looked at because they were real soft. Got a call several hours later saying I needed new pads and rotors on the front and the same on the rear. They also said I needed 2 new struts in the front and front end alignment for an additional charge. i told them to go ahead and work on the brakes and I'll deal with the struts later. They called me a Lyft and took me home. I didn't hear any thing Tuesday until I called them around 4pm and they said they needed the brake fluid to put back into the system. I went up there after work and the driver of the parts house just showed up around 4:30 pm with the brake fluid. THey told me that since it was so late in the day, they'll have to bleed the system tomorrow (Wednesday). Wednesday comes and I called them around 11:30 and they said they had to do a gravitational bleed of the brakes and once that was done, to do a mechanical bleed. I said ok and let it go until I got a call later saying they bled the brakes but noticed I needed a new master cylinder since it was leaking. i told them ok and go ahead and put a new one on. Didn't hear anything so I figured I'd go up there Wednesday afternoon and on my way, they called me and told me that they road tested the car and noticed the brake pedal was tighter, but not stiff enough of where it should be. He recommended to go and replace the master cylinder with another one and bleed the brakes again. I told him ok and I hope this works now. I get a call Thursday morning telling me everything is good and ready to go. I went up there to pick it up and the owner wasn't there I went ahead and paid and left, but still wasn't happy with the whole experience so I called Saturday to see if the owner was there and they told me she was so I went back up there and talked to her about the situation. She offered to take $150 off the bill and give me a couple of free oil changes. I shook her hand and said that was fine with me. Overall, I am satisfied with the service I received, but the next time I need any brake work done, they may not be the first repair shop I'll call. read more

If I could rate less I would! They are NOT honest at all! And don't CARE!!!!! I went there to get a diagnostic because my car started over heating a little bit. So I paid the $35 for the pressure test they were at least honest about the heater hose that was worn out BUT they started up selling me saying I need my oil changed after I just changed it Mind u I'm a mechanic so I'm knowledgeable but since it was a newer car I just didn't want to take the risk to make the problem bigger. They were charging me $800 to fix one heater hose that I still had to wait a week for.. but when I asked if anyone in town had the part she said "NO" and that she called everyone but I'm a very skeptical person so I did my research and found the part at the dealer and they had over a thousand in stock for only $30 so I went to get it myself and she said the job would be 2 hours when I did it myself with pliers in 10 mins.. Don't waste your time or money all they do is give you an attitude, act like you don't know what you're talking about and tried to get me to do other services when I didn't need them. SHE ALSO WAS DEMANDING ME TO CHANGE MY OIL.. knowing damn well I literally just changed it 3 weeks prior she tried that scare tactic but obviously didn't know what she was talking about also the pressure test took like an hour n half. Car all fixed and running beautiful in literally 10 mins worth of work. If you're person who doesn't know about cars or catches to these shops scare tactics they will play you this isn't the only shop either!! SAVED $750 that day!!! read more

Sherry the owner was extremely non-accommodating even after she admitted a false diagnosis of my vehicle and that she gave me misleading information. The staff where very pleasant and understanding of the fault of the owner and they were apologetic, but could not refund the money spent or correct the problem with my car. Here is what happened: I sent my car for a heater repair and was contacted by Sherry the Owner that the problem was a cracked valve which was $412 to replace. So I agreed to pay the $412 she calls and says the heater is fixed. I picked up the car and the heater was not working.( and still doesn't work) The car is returned the following morning and Sherry says on I guess the flush didn't hold. (Flush? You said it was a cracked valve) Then she says the heater needs a new coil which is another $980. She lied to me to get my money and refused to at least refund the missed diagnosed fee.  I will never do business with this lying, thieving, conniving crook again and would never recommend anyone to this awful establishment.  I guess Honest 1 isn't so Honest. I have a Lexus and I typically only go to the Lexus dealership or another local place that I've taken multiple cars over many years...... just depending on what I need done. I happened to get a flat tire as I was driving right past Honest 1, so I pulled in - having no other options. Everyone was super friendly and they have such a nice waiting area upstairs.... you can look out into the shop to see them working on your vehicle or relax and watch TV. They even have a computer in there. My kids loved the cushy chairs, TV, and free juice boxes! I will also say there was a small mistake made that damaged one of my personal belongings in the car. I was prepared to a battle to get it addressed. They asked no questions and just made it right. They truly live out there name! I am taking my business there from now on! read more

A completely dishonest company..I went in for an oil change at the beginning of October. Everything went great, very friendly up front and was done in timely manner. However, less than a week later all my oil had leaked out of my vehicle. I called Honest-1 they came picked up my vehicle to look at it. My husband had to go up to shop to get any kind of communication through out the whole ordeal. He spoke with the lead tech who assured him if there was something wrong it would be corrected. Sometime later we had to call to get an update. We spoke with Sherry, the owner, who indicted there could be an issue with the Oil Filter Housing. We had to pay for them to take the intake off for them to tell us the housing was broken. Sherry offered to fix the housing for a price of $900. Also, while taking the intake off they were to replace the gaskets, which we found out by the mechanic who replaced the housing, they did not do. Sherry charged us for services that were not completed. She also caused us to spend more money on something her shop broke. I understand that mistakes happen, but let's be honest and fix those mistakes. My vehicle has never had an oil leak, nor did Honest-1 indicate when they changed the oil that there was a leak. I was only suggested to have my transmission flushed at the time of the oil change. The mechanic who fixed our vehicle said the oil filter was over tightened cause the housing to break, in turn causing all the oil to leak out of my vehicle. On top of Honest-1 breaking my vehicle, my license plate was stolen while my vehicle was in their care. Sherry refused to come up to her shop to pull video for the police officer filing the report. She has been the most unreasonable person I have ever dealt with in the service industry. She clearly does not take pride in her business. Ironically, the reason I came to the shop is a friend referred me, a friend who had a personal conversation with Sherry. Sherry's reasoning for opening a shop was so that women could come in and feel safe and confident that they are not being taken advantage of...so I guess charging people and not completing services or breaking a part and not being honest and fixing it doesn't follow under those guidelines. Honest-1 was great! I went in for an oil change because they had a $19.99 special going on. They changed my filters, my windshield wiper fluid and my oil. They were also able to tell me what was wrong with my battery so that I was able to get that taken care of elsewhere. Their receptionist was cool, very bubbly personality and extremely welcoming. She asked if I wanted water while I waited and informed me about the area upstairs where you could chill before waiting for your car. The guy who came back in and told me about my car was ok. I understand that there is a certain level of camaraderie with all of the employees but he could tone it down just a little bit. He kept it professional while explaining but cussed a few times during convo with the receptionist and I was like ohhhhk then! However, they did a great job on my car. They pulled it around to the front and had a thank you note attached to a package of unopened Oreos. The note had the name of the technician who worked on my car and thanked me for my business. My recent situation with Honest-1 was incredibly disappointing. I'll give you the simple facts: Leaving work one day, my car failed to start. I attempted to jump the battery with a helpful co-worker, but nothing worked. I eventually had it towed to Honest-1. They told me that my battery was dead, my alternator was shot, and my serpentine belt was "looking pretty rough so we may as well go ahead and replace it while we're in there". They quoted me the following prices (this is straight from my original, printed estimate): Serpentine Belt - 1 unit - $94.12 Alternator - 1 unit - $277.66 Labor - 1.20 hrs - $125.80 Battery - 1 unit - $134.88 Total - $685.21 (with taxes, disposal fees, etc.) Me and my wife were devastated by this estimate - we had nowhere near the amount needed to complete the repairs. I advised the front counter help (the owner, Sherry) that we would have to save for weeks to complete the repairs. HOWEVER - after doing some research, I was flabbergasted at the prices Honest-1 was quoting. I was so disgusted actually, that I ended up towing the car to my home, purchasing the parts from AutoZone and Firestone, and completing the repairs myself. In addition, I discovered that the serpentine belt was GOOD AS NEW - it looked better than the "back-up belt" my mother-in-law keeps in the truck of her car. By no means should this belt have been quoted as needing repairs (and if it HAD needed replacing, I found it for $27.00 NOT $94.12) This is what I ended up spending: Alternator - 1 unit - $172.73 (BRAND NEW with 2-year warranty from AutoZone) Battery - 1 unit - $97.19 (BRAND NEW with 5-year warranty from Firestone) Towing - 2 times - $65.00 Labor - 2.00 hrs - $0.00 Total Cost - $334.92 Had I gone with Honest-1, I would have replaced a serpentine belt that DIDN'T need replacing, paid almost double for each part and almost $100 dollars an hour in labor for a repair that was simple enough for me and my father-in-law to complete in a few hours. That's $350.29 that is still in my bank account for being wise enough to NOT go with Honest-1. Never again will I patronize this chain. I'm posting this review on all available websites, emailing it to friends and family, and forwarding a copy to the Honest-1 Auto Care Franchise Development at 7430 East Butherus Drive, Scottsdale, AZ 85260. The following is copied from Honest-1's website (and one of the reasons I selected them in the first place): "The word "Honest" is part of our name for a reason. I had my car at this facility 1 1/2 years ago to have the 2 belts and L. rear wheel bearing replaced. The belt has been squealing since this repair. I have this car in for service at another facility and was told the PS belt was not installed correctly, it was very loose and I have to replace the rear wheel bearing because that was not installed correctly either.
