All shapes and sizes are welcome and celebrate here which we definitely need more of in the world. Studs Puerto Vallarta is absolutely ahead of the norm. It's definitely not for the faint of heart, but it's absolutely a lot of fun and the ambiance from the main level to the top is very distinctive. Drinks here are standard beer and cocktails. Pricing is great, as with most places in the area. While are not cash only, they do highly recommend cash and have a 500 pesos limit for credit card usage. If you are only have a drink or two, you may not be able to hit that, but we just put our groups first round on the same tab and were able to make do with no issues. It's a multi-story bar lounge to hang and enjoy some great cocktails as well as some amazing music and music videos from all over. They closed a little earlier than normal the night we stopped in, a bit surprising for a Saturday night but definitely still enjoyable since we closed the bar out on the patio of the top floor overlooking the street with two solid drinks. Our bartender was really easy going offered for us to pick a few videos but one of the customers was on a role so we just let them have it - only a little off after they started skipping videos. The entire layout is very fun, definitely watch you step and your head if you're tall like me and the novio. Definitely a great spot to wrap up the night and/or start it off. The second level has this amazing wide patio deck with a beautiful mural. Definitely need to hang there a bit next time. We only had one minor issue with change here, but it got resolved really easily. Once you walk up the main steps there is usually a small cover fee to come in and the bar is right in the back of the first floor. Up the massive mahogany stairs are the multitude of floor-to-ceiling doors that are all unisex bathrooms. I love the large mirror at the top of the stairs for a quick selfie and of course the bathroom attendants are super friendly. I've noticed a top floor but have yet to decipher if it is private event space of additional table seating (I will try to remember to ask next time). What makes Code stand out is the level of theatrics and lighting that are utilized throughout the night. From male and female go-go dancers, cascading light and disco ball drops that are synced to the music, pyrotechnics, and so much more -- this is one hell of a spot. Each night on different trips I've been on there has been a different theme for each night. You can tell they take great pride and plan out each theme accordingly. Pretty much same program at Mandala, you're lured in by outside staff with either "freebies" or deals. Never had to pay cover charge, always had great seats, views and service. Seems to be not so much action on the dance floor before 11pm, at least times we've gone. However, the music always keeps you amped and pumped. Whether it be reggaeton or hip hop, Mandala will always pull through with their upbeat sounds. There's always tons of staff throughout the club and security crew at entrance. I sometimes think staffing is way overboard and it looks more overboard when staff are huddling around congregating at their post doing nothing. Last night's experience was good. Even with our free margarita drinks, Mandala didn't capture our attention long enough but for approximately 30 minutes. We had tipped and left. We ended up going to the gay bars on the other side of town, Romantica Zone. I still recommend
