I was on my way to a coffee shop but then i reconsidered thinking i didnt want to spend 20 dollars on a sub-par sandwich and an overpriced coffee. Right outside of post was CC's, and wow, just what I wanted. The only reason it is not a five is because they still wont allow seating inside, which is a big part of why I go to a diner. Service was great and this rule clearly is not for covid because no one is wearing masks, just seems they are trying to save money. read more

Yup! This is the place! We were in the area for my son's Turning Green graduation and even though our hotel had their usual "free hot breakfast" we were longing for a real homemade, Southern breakfast. So glad we found CC's, it was perfect! Pricing was definitely on point for the amount of food we received as well as the quality. We opted to get it to go, however you can eat in if you like. Nothing pretentious about this place, very feel like home & comfortable environment. Service was very prompt & I'm assuming it was CC who took my order, was as sweet as peaches! My breakfast is the picture, scrambled egg with cheese, "real" home style potatoes, load of thick delicious bacon, biscuit & side of grits. Grits by the way, were nice & thick & actually cooked - my favorite. My son had the pancakes, I didn't get a pic but, I did get a few bites, only like 2 lol. I like my pancakes to be thick, not airy & watery. The pancakes here are just that, thick! Not too dense or rubbery, just amazing. Condiments were provided if needed. I missed this place the first time I drove by, but turned around and found it the second pass...and I'm glad I did. I planned on visiting CC's after arriving in from SLC on the redeye as I had just arrived in town to see my oldest graduate from US Army Airborne School. So a quick breakfast there and then on to Fryar DZ! I found CC's Place simple, clean, and quaint and was immediately seated and order taken by the attentive wait staff. I had the Western omelette with home fries, coffee, and juice, wheat toast, and I LOVED it. It was a great start to a wonderful day of revisiting Benning (after my last trip 12 years ago...) and 're-living' my past. The place was busy that early Wednesday morning (a good sign,) and I'd strongly recommend small establishments like CC's as they often have some great food and service. Four Stars! read more

Several of the reviews and reviewers will tell you how unassuming this place looks, how humble, how understated etc however let me be quite clear and let you know before proceeding that this place's appearance is antithetical to it's food...in point of fact it is probably the most deceptive setting I ever experienced inclusive of thatched huts adjoining beaches in sub-tropical settings. The menu is either breakfast or lunch and theme with a slight Southern bias (grits, biscuits and gravy) greens as a side with lunch. The value (cost) given the portions served , the quality of the ingredients and the expertise of its preparation make this one of the most valuable dining experiences one can have. I had eggs, grits, bacon and biscuits all of which were superbly prepared and efficiently served with a hot, flavorful cup of coffee. The eggs (over easy) were perfect, the biscuits home made were Iight and flaky , the grits consistent, light and perfectly cooked and given the freshness recently so and the bacon thick with a slight hint of applewood smoke, cooked crispy but due to the thickness not flaky. Returning to the area for work so I had to stop by CC's to try their breakfast but discovered a bit more. Ambiance/Customer Service: It seems the management updated the furniture, flooring, etc. for a fresh feel to the place but thankfully no change to the welcoming atmosphere, and friendly customer service this establishment offers. Meal: Tried the breakfast on this visit, and although there might be a bit of a wait during breakfast time, due to all the patrons frequenting the restaurant - that says a lot, all good. It's definitely worth the 3 to 10 minute wait for a table. Ordered the Special and was not disappointed. Eggs cooked exactly to order, no over cooked yokes, everything was tasty and very affordable. My server highly recommended the sausage link, you'd do good to take her advice too. Bottomline: I really like the feel of this place, and the folks that both work and frequent this establishment. Awesome little place. Appearance isn't everything when it comes to this small family diner. Located in a small, out of the way building in South Columbus, you could easily overlook it. Food was delicious, portions were perfect and the staff was amazing. The price was good too. My wife and I had breakfast for $16 and we added extras to our meal. The staff is friendly and quick. Arrived here to eat with my soldier brother for family weekend. There were a few people sitting alone at large tables. Asked what the wait was and they said we'd have to wait and see. Me and my family came in 30 minutes before they stop serving breakfast just to watch them walk around and look at the clock for the to come to our table 20 minutes later to tell us "it's too close to lunch to serve breakfast" I told them I came in within well of enough time. There was also customers here prior to my even being here. And they were told the same as well. If you have an advertise form then that's the time you should abide by. Common courtesy.
