Let me start out by saying we brought in items for dry cleaning as well as one item to be hemmed. The clothes that were dry cleaned seem fine, I've had better shirt pressing elsewhere but this will do in a pinch. Their tailoring services though, stay far far away if you love your clothes. My husband needed new suit pants hemmed and tried a few items to go to another tailor in town but could never find them open. Needing the pants done for a specific date, he brought them in with the dry cleaning and that could not have been a bigger mistake. There is a very high likelihood the pants are not salvageable. You'll see from the pictures below how poor of a job they did. I've honestly never seen a worse hem in my life. Not only is it sloppy, it's not even fully stitched down. Whoever did this also forced the fabric through the machine causing it to bunch and pucker. And to add insult to injury, they couldn't even clean up the chalk line drawn on the pants as a guide. I would have done this myself if I knew what a mess CD One Price was but we just moved and my machine is still packed away. A student who just learned to thread a sewing machine 5 minutes ago would have done a better job than this. I cannot caution you away from this location more. read more

One of the worst cleaners I've ever experienced. Our washing machine had broken at home and it took two weeks to repair in the meantime I took our laundry on two separate occasions to CD One Price Cleaners in Libertyville. Both times the laundry was returned to me completely wrinkled. These wrinkles we're so set into the fabric that even now, many washes later, the wrinkles still persist. On the second occasion they had lost several articles of our clothing which was not realized until I had gotten the laundry home and started folding it. When contacted about the missing articles, they gave me the run around. Those clothes are gone for good I guess. I have been coming to this location for about a year and didn't have any issues until the past couple of months. All of a sudden the employees are rude and just openly hostile at times. My recent experience was with their alteration services. The items were altered unevenly - the stitching was all over the place. I went back, and they said that they would fix it. Picked up the items and saw the same thing - both pairs of jeans were hemmed unevenly. You can see that without even trying. I called to see what can be done, and the manager said that she checked the items herself, and they look fine. She also said that if I don't like how their seamstress does things, they will not accept any more items from me. As if I would take anything else to her again. Basically the manager made it seem like this is on me. I was told that if I can bring a receipt, I can get my money back but that they won't fix the items. The manager was very short and rude. There is another employee at this location who acts like he is doing you a huge favor by being there. The price keeps going up unfortunately the customer service & poor attitudes keep going down. I called all the cleaners in Libertyville to find out which one had the lowest overall prices, because I regularly use dry cleaning services. This was the winner in the price war(Skyline at 137 and Milwaukee was 2nd place), and guess what: they have good quality too! One thing that takes some getting used to about CD One is that you pay when you drop off your clothes (more places are doing this these days), and they only take cash. They have a private ATM on the premises, but thats gonna charge you upfront and then your bank is gonna getcha at the end of the month, so bring cash. The upside is you wont need much: Shirts are $1.29 laundered, with or without starch and all garments are $2.49. ALL garments, including sportcoats, dresses, everything. Getting a suit done at Zengeler is $10 or more. here its $5.18. As for quality, once I got back pants with a stain on them that was on there before. The next time I pointed out the stain, they marked it for extra care (gratis), and the stain was removed. I have not had any issues with missing buttons or shitty creases, so I'm pretty happy. Lastly, I am way impressed by the friendly, efficient service and the provision of Starbucks coffee to patrons. Both are really nice touches that make patronizing this cleaners a joy. read more

The first few sets we sent were fine, but then I picked up my dresses before a weekend vacation and they were still wet!! I was sent a survey and stated I was unsatisfied. The manager then called me to send his apologies and offer 2 free garments on my next visit. When I came back to drop off my dry cleaning, the employee said there was no credit to my account. That was annoying. Then I picked up my other set of dry cleaning and my hem was ruined! I have to now go to another dry cleaning place to fix the hem of my dress. That was even more annoying. Not a fan. They lost a pant, we went through their video records to find it. Very tedious, and to no effect. Stains not cleaned well, buttons not replaced, and constant redos that do not come back improved. I had them dry clean a wool coat, and it came back with streaks (streaks! how?!). They redid it, it did not look good, but they said it was the best they could do at this point. The lower prices are not worth the cost of the ruined and lost clothes. I changed over to Skyline Cleaners, they did a great job the few times I've been there. read more

The management is infuriating! I have been a regular customer coming in weekly for over three years. I forgot my coupon and was told to check Facebook since they have them listed there. I checked and the coupon was expired so they refused to honor it. I mentioned that they told me to go there to use coupon. The owner has no customer service or people skills. UPDATE: The business took my damaged shirt, without my prior consent, to the place of purchase to have them review and quote the cost of the shirt. They then wrote me back offering to pay me a fraction of the cost based on their industries valuation of current value based on age and condition of clothing. My shirt was damaged due to the company's negligence through mishandling my personal property, not due to age or wear and tear. As a result, I have asked for the full replacement value (my replacement cost) which is only fair in this situation. The store refuses to provide this amount even through escalation through the Better Business Bureau. It is quite disappointing and unfortunate that this franchisee will not do what is right in this situation and will force me to continue to escalate and engage others means to seek appropriate retribution. I encourage anyone reading this to consider other alternative businesses before engaging their services here. read more

I just had the worst experience ever in your store and will not return. After being one of the first customers when this franchise opened and spending thousands of dollars on dry cleaning, your associate was rude and spent more time arguing with me than it would have taken to double check if my sons dress suit jacket was somehow misplaced there. Instead she said she knew I was in there all the time but it didn't matter because your process "guarantees" no mistakes are ever made. How ridiculous. She was uncaring and as my son stood by me, knowing that we don't have time go buy him another jacket for his event today, my heart was breaking because I had trusted your company and thought you'd take care of us. It would have taken a minute to look... and we weren't worth it to your company. I've been a customer there for at least 7 years and I will never be back. I will also tell everyone I know how I was treated and you can bet my teenage son will share it. I'm a 65 year old professional who is not quick to play the race card but in this case it was quite obvious. I will never do business with CD again, I'll advise all of my friends, family, fraternity brothers and collegues not to patronize. To be clear, this complaint is only about the OWNER of the store, NOT the staff. Staff in the store is great. I brought in four of my mom's european down comforters to be cleaned. When I unwrapped them, one of them looked unfamiliar. It was white and was all lumpy. I will admit that because they were my mom's, who passed away, I was unsure of the colors of all of them but down comforters from Germany are not usually white. And, it would have been pointless to bring a lumpy one like that in for cleaning because It's unusable in it's current condition. I went back to the store to ask if someone had come in saying they received the wrong comforter. The staff (who is always great btw) said no and that they would hold onto the comforter to investigate. After hearing nothing, I went back to see what was happening. They said they would have the owner call me because they could go back and look through the videos to see what was brought in. I agreed and thought that was a great idea. Owner called me to say that that the white one was mine although he said nothing about checking any videos. He wouldn't let me speak so I wasn't able to ask any questions. I finally just said thank you and hung up the phone which is definitely what he was looking for. The comforter I will get back is unuseable and I'm out $20 to boot. Lesson learned? Don't bring anything you value to the quickie cleaners. read more

I feel that they showed me no respect when I showed up before their closing hour and would not give the benefit of the doubt when dropping off cloths they would not take an item because it was 1-2 min before their closing hour. They frequently do not get clothing clean and treat you poorly. I asked the speak with the manager and they refused to put a voicemail message or allow me to leave a message for her. They looked for reasons to give me a hard time instead of helping me. THEY DO NOT GIVE THE RESPECT THEIR CUSTOMERS OR GIVE THE BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT TO THEIR CUSTOMERS WHICH I THINK IS THE BIGGEST MISTAKE ANY BUSINESS CAN MAKE. We originally started coming here over a year ago fm because of the great prices. In the last 5 months, we've started to regularly return items. Many dress shirts come back with dust and fuzz in the pockets and collars. Last week a white button down came back with brown stains on the cuffs and collar (which were not there when it was dropped off). Additionally a wool sweater came back with holes. They have been good enough to correct the issues, however, we won't be returning any longer because of the frequency of these errors. read more

I had to use the in-store ATM and pay cash....I guess they subsidize the low cleaning cost with the ATM fees they collect. On to the cleaning....you get what what you pay for. This place was great when it first opened, but the past two times I've been in the service is really bad. I've stood at the counter waiting, and waiting for someone to not only say hello, but to come take the clothes. Their attitudes stink! Just picked up a items (2 dresses) a week ago, went to put one of the dresses on this morning and noticed it was damaged. It appears that the dress was washed with Velcro or something with Velcro on it or got stuck on something. After calling the location this morning and speaking with the manager, I now need to go back to fill out a form for review. My dresses never get laundered by me, they are always taken to CD One Price cleaners......I will be there to fill out the form, but I will not be a continual customer. The dress was $60. read more
