What a rip-off. My husband got hurt on the job. My husband DISLOSED the fact that he was on worker's comp from the beginning. They said they would not do any negotiating until we paid them; $1795. After collecting various information and faxing book-sized information, we waited and waited. Finally one of the reps claimed the banks would NOT recognize worker's comp as income. THE REP ACTUALLY REQUESTED THAT MY HUSBAND COMMIT FRAUD BY CLAIMING HE WAS SELF-EMPLOYED. After that HUGE red flag and after being told AFTER they took our money and told us they could not help us, we ended-up having to short-sale our home and now are renters. Thanks a lot CDA Law Center; for basically misleading us and taking our money and our home. We would have been better off dealing with the banks directly. After getting ripped-off, we contacted The CA state bar. We have a trial coming up toward the end of the month. Wish us luck. We don't have that kind of money to just give away. Nor do we appreciate strangers having ALL of our personal information! UPDATE: We received our $1795 back after reporting them to the California State Bar Association. I wanted a lower payment so I could retire and not have a huge payment - WELL that did not work - my payment is now higher than when I applied and paid them over $4,000.00 to make this happen I agree with Jen F - what a complete rip - off - they were also very difficult to get in touch with - pushing the e-mails to multiple people and no one wanted or would help. read more

I am self employed, and worked with B of A on my own, only to have them run me around in circles. Wells Fargo non owner occupy loan modification. Many years ago I made a bad investment. I had to barrow money against my two rental properties. One loan with Indy Mac. Paul Young said he could not help. Fannie Mac loan that are rental are not being done right now. At least he was honest. The second loan I had with Wells Fargo was a pick a pay loan which originally came from World Savings at 7.8%. I knew the rate was was high, but at that time I figured I could wait a year and refinance. The Value fell and I was out of luck. A few years later Wells Fargo started modifications. I called and gave them all the info. Every time they gave me the run around. One time my income was short by .18%. The next time my income was to high. I must have tried 3 to 4 times on my own. Back in November I was very frustrated with Wells Fargo. I spoke with Paul Young with CdA. He told me he could help. There was a 99% chance that his group could get a modification done. He later introduce me to Crystal Oropeza. She was my case manager. I had to send her all my info and she presented to Wells Fargo. They turned us down on her first attempt. Then she went back to work and resubmitted again. She help me some letters to the bank. She finally nailed it down. She got me 4.1% fixed rate. My payment want down $1000 a month. We were told that they can help with the Wells Fargo mortgage to lower the interest rate and convert it to a fixed non- adjustable rate. This firm provided false information and they made it seem that they are in negotiation with the bank by giving us proposed monthly payment and rate. What was so terrible is that four days after they collected all the fees, they emailed us about the bad news that the loan modification was denied. Gary McPeak would not return our phone calls. Hello, Please be forewarned this office perhaps a legitimate business, is heartless. First they will hook desperate homeowners into thinking that "they " are sympatethic to your situation and would try to gain your confidence in them by further saying that they are in "close contact and working relationship with a bank official" and that they "have helped a lot of distressed home owners through these special acquaintances" They will sell you a $700 "R.E.S.T" report which would tell them if you're qualified to their standard or not. The report looks legit but really its just a compilation of information you've given them plus your credit score. Then they will ask a initial payment of $1,700 to process your documents then they will ask for the remaining $1,700 before they submit to the lender or bank their proposal. Oh and then yourr case will be forwarded to their "top-notch negotiator" who will "try to negotiate for your behalf". You will be assured that there is a " big chance" of your loan being modified or your mortgage lessened. The reality is they are totally bogus and like the previous person who commented on this office, they put my family out to dry as well. Bottomline we lost our house, we lost our savings (4K) by being misled by these sharp-tongued alligators. They will sell their mother if they have the chance to. Im sure we're not the only one who had the similar experience, so be forewarned. Trust your instincts. WHAT A RIP-OFF! This is really a negative star-rating I might add that most lenders PREFER dealing with the homeowners directly to help with their loans. A total waste of money!!! I was referred to CDA after I was denied a loan mod through BofA. They sold me on all the reasons why I should sign up with them including the REST report. What a joke!! I sent them $4,500 in stages and then followed up on a regular basis. They took advantage of my wife and me at our most vulnerable moment. They are not able to deliver on what they advertise and this is a waste of money. We ended up short selling our dream home and now rent with $4,500 less in our savings account thanks to CDA. Justin Dickson manipulated the qualification process to "qualify" us as a hardship for a loan modification. He simply dropped the spouses income to make the numbers work. Why? The bank counts all income to the household. He made a huge or calculated mistake which of course resulted in failing to modify our B of A loan. In addition, now that property values are up and we actually have enough equity to refi, we cannot be touched because of our purposeful late payments which he advised us to fall behind on during the loan mod. 12/23/2012: My husband and I repeatedly submitted loan modifications to our bank and were turned down every time. Our home was about to be foreclosed on so we reluctantly entered a short sale. Out of desperation I did further research and luckily found CDA Law Center in Orange County. I cannot say enough good things about CDA. It took time, but we finally we received an approved loan modification with a significant lower interest rate and a large forgiveness of our mortgage debt. Do not throw your money away on them. We lost our house. They did nothing for me and my family. They make you process everything and they just submit it. Every time I processed my papers required to modify loan, I got served by the bank that my property was in auction. I had to call the bank for them to stop it. Then I followed with TYLER BASS who said he stopped it. I couldn't get a hold of him for many days. They said I have a better chance if I file bankruptcy and they will dismiss it right before filing. I even wrote letters to a congressman. Two years of trying everything and anything to get a modification. We were desperate and the house was in default ...when my sister had recommended CDA law... They will take your money and charge you up front and flat out lie, to draw you in. I am now finding out that CDA Law had nothing to do with the deleting of our 2nd loan and yet they were trying to take the credit for this. CDA Law Center told me they could get me a loan modification and reduce my monthly payment by hundreds of dollars. I ended up with an offer from my bank that was basically the same as the monthly payments I was already paying. Once I got an offer, they could not get rid of me fast enough. As far as they were concerned, they did their job, as I got "an" offer. Total waste of my money and time. I did like the guy who was my initial point of contact (great SALESman), but then, he stopped returning my emails. Called and found out, he had left the firm. Did anyone even bother to tell me? NO. I was then assigned a merry-go-round of different negotiators, none of whom inspired any confidence in me. The second one quit the firm at some point too! They will send you a link to a website that has tons of rave reviews by supposed former clients - do NOT be fooled like I was. Given my own experience, I find those reviews rather incredulous. Also, do look up attorney Robert Scurrah's record at the California Bar Association website, as mentioned by another reviewer. Like many homeowners I attempted to do a loan modification myself without success. I have reams of paper documenting every step of my disastrous year communicating with Bank of America: if I added up how many dropped calls, redirected calls, and names of people/departments I was shuffled to, you would weep. All to receive a denial form letter with the financial explanation area for the rejection left completely blank. They wore me down and I gave up, prepared for the possibility that I would lose my home (I'm a single mom with two daughters). And then my brother recommended CDA Law Center.
