Ran into Cecile Bakery + Cafe for a late breakfast around 2:30 PM and had a pretty interesting start to the experience. When we walked in, about four employees stared at us while we were visibly confused about whether we should seat ourselves or wait to be seated. Nobody greeted us or explained the process, so I eventually walked toward the back near the kitchen and asked, "Hi, do we seat ourselves or wait to be seated?" The response I got was simply, "Yes." ...Yes what? I had to ask again before being told we could seat ourselves, but that the kitchen would be closing in 30 minutes. Totally understandable, and we reassured them we only needed a couple minutes to look at the menu. Once seated, our server again reminded us the kitchen was closing soon, which felt a little rushed considering we were ready to order almost immediately. Then when asking whether the breakfast sandwich or the truffle egg bun was better, the response was, "I fu*k with the breakfast sandwich." Honestly, it caught me off guard a bit. The overall service throughout felt awkward, rushed, and not very polished or welcoming. We decided to go with the breakfast sandwich, and then he asked if we wanted a side salad or potatoes. We said potatoes, and also asked if the sandwich could be cut in half. He responded, "The potatoes in half?" We clarified, "No, the sandwich." Then he replied, "Ok... what side would you like?" ...The potatoes Thankfully, the food completely turned things around. We split the breakfast sandwich and it was genuinely delicious. The lattes had a much richer coffee flavor than most cafés, and the pancakes tasted homemade and fresh. For about $50 total, I left satisfied with both the quality and portion sizes. As of recently the service has been so slow & subpar. The food was decent, but something definitely changed. The eggs Benedict recipe because no longer tastes the same. Ordered my eggs Benedict this morning and the eggs were overcooked. Giving it three stars because my oat milk latte was very good and strong. Wow, we were pleasantly surprised by Cecile!!! This spot is spectacular. And right across the street from sunset place mall. Every single item we ordered tasted fresh and was uniquely different than any other brunch spot. The interior was clean and beautifully adorned with foliage. The service was great. We started off with the Croffle which was so interesting! It was a croissant smashed into a waffle with maple syrup. It tasted AMAZING!! For our main brunch meal, we ordered the breakfast sandwich and the eggs Benedict croissant. Both of us got sides of the potatos. And WOW WOW WOW!!! First of all, the sandwiches were fantastic. Every item tasted extremely fresh. The side of potatoes was way better than expected. These potatoes were topped with sprinkles of cheese and shaped like little teardrops that were hard on the exterior and essentially melted in your mouth!!! I stumbled upon this little spot by sunset place. There was street parking available which was lovely. It seemed that it was busy at the time we got there but we got seated right away. We didn't really wait long to get our food once we placed our order. The service was great and super fast. The pistachio latte was amazing, you can really get the pistachio essence with every sip. The breakfast sandwich was delicious, the croissant tasted fresh and the bacon was crispy. I really enjoyed everything. My friend had the burger and she really liked it. Love this place!! My friend and I got here around 8:30 a.m. right before the restaurant got packed!! My friend ordered a cappuccino and the garden omelette with the Cecile potatoes, and I ordered the cortado with sugar and the eggs Benedict with bacon instead of ham and the Cecile potaotes. The Cecile potatoes are tiny puffs of fried mashed potatoes which are sprinkled with Parmesan cheese. They are delicious, as is everything here! I was here last week and I ordered the exact same thing, except that I requested the eggs poached hard last time. The eggs Benedict is so good that I can't bring myself to order anything else! This is a really cute cafe in South Miami that serves French/American brunch foods made with high-quality ingredients and lots of flavor. The menu has a great mix of options for a variety of tastes, and I highly recommend the French Toast for something sweet and Croque Monsieur for something savory - they're both pretty large portions and can definitely be shared with a side! While this is a great spot and I've been back a couple times since first discovering it, I have to knock off one star for the check-in service and drinks: every time I come here, there's either no one at the hostess stand or the girl there has a bad attitude, and the drinks are ridiculously expensive (like almost $5 for drip coffee expensive) and honestly not worth the price. Besides those two knocks, this really is a lovely spot to enjoy a nice meal with friends and family without having to dress up fancy or break the bank. So, as I could see most of the Porsche show from there, I sat down at a table in their outdoor sidewalk patio. Though it was crowded, I got rather quick and polite service. For my meal, I had their Huevos Iberico which consisted of Fried eggs, chorizo, "Brava" sauce, serrano ham, matchstick fries, Manchego cheese, and sourdough toast. The chorizo was of some of the best in flavors I've ever had. Unfortunately, it was of a very skimpy amount. My partner had their Eggs Benedict Croissant which were poached eggs served with smoked ham, Hollandaise sauce, and a homemade flaky croissant sided with house salad. Lovely bakery, especially in the morning. Their croissants are delicious, and good selection of tea and coffee. Service is quick and seamless. It gets super busy around 10am and wifi slows down significantly so if you're planning to work from here, plan accordingly. They also don't have any power outlets, so bring your laptop charged. Even when it's busy they don't try to kick you out like some places, so that's nice. read more

Terrible service and the manager Geraldine doesn't care about her customers. I've been coming to this place consistently since it opened and the kitchen consistently gets the order wrong. When I complained today the manager Geraldine made no excuse, no effort to fix the problem and brushed it off as nothing happened. Delicious is the best way to describe this brunch style with an emphasis on breakfast place! The short rib sandwich is a little greasy but good. The chicken pillard was awesome on a bed of arugula with a lemon vinaigrette. The eggs Benedict croissant is a popular one. The side salad offered is ok but a good replacement are Cecile's potatoes, which are like a little Hershey's kiss shaped mashed potato with a hard outside. The regular French fries are a good option as well. Desserts are good and is available for grab and go. I tried an individual dessert called La vie en rose. It's a light lemon sponge cake with raspberry and white chocolate in the middle,which was kind of like a jelly. It's was shaped like a rose with a gold flake on top. I like the concept of the eggs Benedict croissant, I think it was executed well, just wish there was a little more. My main complaint is that my meal was interrupted 5 times, from three different waiters who seemed to really need my plate. I still had a quarter of a croissant left and my potatoes. The servers were just really persistent. Maybe something was blocking the food from their vision. I was just enjoying my meal and my friends company, after the fifth ask I reluctantly allowed them to take my plate. Overall pretty good, I will come again. After a doc appt, my wife and I wanted to grab something in the Coral Gables area since we still had time before I picked up my vehicle from the collection. Been coming here for 2 years now; the food has always been amazing and easily deserves 5 stars. The service has however significantly deteriorated over time. It used to be spot on, but now the staff seems disjointed, there is no sense of teamwork or care (except the male hostess - he is awesome). You can sit there for 10 minutes with staff walking by you every 2 minutes but never acknowledging you. It's like they hope that someone else will take care of you.
