Tried this place for the first time for delivery. It took nearly 45 minutes probably because the order taking person does not write down the street name properly. The food was really tasty. The chicken breast with garlic was with a lot of very garlicky (and a little too salty) sauce. It was $12 for the chicken and a side. The side rice and beans' rice was so plenty, that even 3 of us could not finish it. Fried plantain was in a round container with a holed lid to prevent them from getting soggy. Very impressed Steamed vegetable (side) was a good amount with good broccoli flowers, plenty of carrots. Delivery charge was not included so I gave $3 to the delivery person and that made the total $35. Not bad at all considering the quality and quantity. read more

Nasty Cake replacement. I ordered tres leches cake with my dinner and they didn't even bother to call to say it's not available or to offer a different cake for replacement. Instead, they decided to clean out their fridge and place an old cake with a sell by date TO TODAY. And give me a plain ass chocolate cake instead. I thought .. what the heck, the food was AVERAGE, so I will try the cake out.. because that doesn't mean it's expired. But when I say NASTY, I mean, the cake is so crumbly, it's the same texture as play doh that gets left out of its case for years and you decide to play with it anyway. I was browsing Yelp for something different and stumbled on Ceci's. I ordered the mofongo with pernil and lemon chicken with rice and beans and a cheese empanada. I the mofongo was tasty and hot... nice pieces of pork and it came with a separate bowl of sauce. I enjoyed but of course couldn't finish. The lemon chicken was okay.. they used chicken breast but it would've been better with thighs... more juicy and less chance to dry it out. But the sauce was zesty.. very nice. Beans were good also. The cheeses empanada arrived hot and ready for my mouth! It was so good and light and flaky. I'm almost tempted to order just that next time. Delivery was pretty good, he was nice and everything was wrapped well. Yelper here that doesn't cook! That would be me. Ceci's is one of my weekday go to restaurants for awesome Spanish eats. I love it one because it's suuuuper cheap. I don't think they know they should charge more for their great pseudo- home cooked food. *shhh* All of the food here taste good and it's not heavily spicy or salty. They have something for whatever works for you, fish, stewed chicken, oxtails. Top it off with rice, sweet plantains, salad and beans. Ahhhh it's perfect. I wish they were on seamless or had delivery to my nabe but it's fine to make it to them. I call ahead, pick it up and leave a tip for the endearing customer service. read more

I read through the reviews and hoped that I could rave about Ceci's but sadly I cannot. After eating the chicken mofongo, I can understand why it is not as popular as the shrimp version. Found this place on yelp. Was looking for a place to eat close to Brookdale Hospital. It's a 15 min walk. Worth it. Staff was friendly. The already out looked delicious but I ordered a monfongo over the phone to pick up. Service was super fast. $10 min to use cards. Food was good. Would def recommend. Only con is it's a small place, not good for big groups, unless you're a taking the food to go. read more

A housemate got Ceci's delivered while I was on a conference call and I could barely focus after. The scent of fried chicken made me want to tear my headphones off and immediately ask where she got it from. And much to my pleasure she handed me one of Ceci's ads. Big plus that they're located close to home. Even bigger plus is the fact that they deliver, which means... my first New York delivery experience!! We couldn't find them on GrubHub or Seamless so you gotta call in and order. We ordered a family special -- fried chicken chunks (bone-in), yellow rice, beans, salad, and a 2-liter soda. After we paid the delivery man, we went for it. The chicken was hot and juicy, and when you pair it with the rice and beans it makes for a hearty meal. A meal with a flavor we hadn't really tried yet. Until this point. Give them a call and try for yourself! Driver is butthole I live less than 10 min away and driver refused to make delivery. I hate coming into the restaurant because Ceci's allows patrons to enter without facemasks even though the food is out in the open. The food has its good and bad days & sometimes looks questionable. I told him to use a gps to check the distance if he did not believe me ( I mean doesn't everyone use them now it is 2017.) He still insisted it was 20 miles away what a joke! They screwed up my order and made what they wanted to make. When I told them my order was wrong the woman said I never said that when I repeated myself more than 3 times. The woman does not understand English very well so you have to continue to repeat your order. The first time I ordered they had to transfer me to someone else because the woman that answered the phone didn't understand English. This is the 3rd time I've ordered from them and the last. The woman was nasty and when I told her my order was wrong and she said she wasn't fixing it. So I told her I wasn't buying it if she didn't correct my order. She said "So."
