Nice little Spanish food spot in Bushwick where you could get a massive breakfast with strong coffee for pretty cheap! Sat down and ordered eggs, potatoes, toast and bacon with a coffee for what I think may have been around $10. The bacon slices were thick cut and delicious. Not Bad! Employees are friendly and food is worth it IMO. Try it out! read more

Whenever I'm in BK this one of my go to spot mainly for the grits, French toast and pancakes. The owner Jose is awesome. He remembers every one of his customers and their order. But not only him his staff as well. I never had any lunch from this establishment so I can't comment on that but breakfast is always good. read more

Kind of your typcai Spanish/ English hood spot that's usually the spot to go to, well because there's nothing else around (my reason for choosing to eat here.) The menu ranges from American food to Spanish. The space is pretty big but lots of empty tables. The service blows. The waitress had an attitude as if I was stopping her frorm gossiping with the other chicks. She honestly could care less I was there and I could care less about her tip. My mom and I came here for breakfast. I told her this restaurant is not the same since the previous owner went back to DR. You are truly missed Jose. We came in and sat had to wait a long time. I had to ask if anyone was taking orders. The menu says when you order french toast you are suppose to get coffee. The waiter stated that all the menus were wrong. Usually when the menu is wrong the store is suppose to accommodate you but thats another story. We ordered grits and bacon. The grits came out cold. It was only 11:15 which is still breakfast who wants cold grits. We had to ask for it to be placed in the microwave and then remind them the food was in the microwave. Then we were offered toast and the waiter stated no jelly was being served today and my mom toast wasn't even toasted. How are u offering toast with no jelly. Also the bacon was kind of chewy like how you make pork bacon chewy. Like i said we only came here because my mom act like she couldn't fine anywhere else for us to eat breakfast. I love their food! Their pernil with red beans and white rice always hit the spot. The maduros is made to order and always a delicious addition to the meal (or even alone!). I order from there a lot, and I've never had a bad meal or experience. Whenever I'm under the weather, I order their chicken soup-- a large will run you about 6 dollars. So we had to spend a night in New York because of cancelled flight so we stayed at the RL Hotel up the street and were looking to have a substantial breakfast! We were going to go to I-hop because we wanted to have a real breakfast but a friend saw this place on Google Maps and we saw the pics and good reviews so we decided to come here. Stopped in around noon to see if they had any breakfast left. Looked like the lunch buffet was already out, so I asked the woman behind the counter if they had any muffins left. There was a bit of a language barrier, but she got me some sort of muffin and toasted it and smathered grape jelly on it. Asked if I wanted a coffee too (she could tell I had just woke up) and gave me a delicious iced coffee. $2.50 total and the muffin was delicious, even though I still am not sure what it was, ha! As a Greasy Spoon goes, this place was very good (only went once as of this writing). Went in at 9AM for breakfast. We ordered at the counter, then they brought the food to us. You can actually look at the food before you order it. The staff was friendly and courteous. When you go to a greasy spoon you have to leave your picky opinions at the door. If you enter this place with an open mind you'll enjoy it. I kept it basic with eggs, bacon and home fries. The home fries were good by diner standards, they weren't just sliced and diced in a grid. My dining companion said the rice was very good. Another reviewer mentioned it looks like it might have been a soda-fountain joint back in the day. It did have that appearance. It was a cool looking dive with a lot of atmosphere. There were some funny regulars at the counter seats. If you're out with mom and pop and looking to have a leisurely diner experience, you might want to go elsewhere. But if you're in Bushwick and you're looking for a fast breakfast with coffee, this is a good place to go. read more

I love Collados. I order from here every other week (if not every week). They deliver and they have great mangu (mashed plantains) that I order with fried cheese, salami and eggs. Stopped here for lunch while in town for work. The menu I was given made me a little skeptical that I would find anything I liked, but I was encouraged to go in and check it out. I had rotissiere chicken, rice/beans, and steamed veggies. The guy behind the counter hacked up my chicken nicely and put it over the rice and jammed the veggies in there too. I was shocked how much food they crammed in that little container. Everything tasted pretty good and I was happy I gave them a chance. I love these little places.
