This is a 3.5 star rating. I used to come here years ago, like back in 2008-2010. Since then the set up is the same but there have been times when the food just wasn't hitting how it used to. There really isn't much of a difference between the mild and the spicy seasoning at the steam bar. If my memory serves me right,it's not seasoned as good as it used to be either but it's still good. The o e thing I always hated is still the same. The floor and the bowls are always wet. The produce that you can add to your food was plentiful as always but it just didn't seem fresh. Some of the corn in my last order was stale while other pieces were nice and juicy and sweet. Seems almost like that packaged them that way purposely. Most of the staff is the same since 2008 and they're all friendly. I hit this spot whenever I have a seafood craving and I'm in Brooklyn I consider myself a regular but they gotta get the seasoning on point. As a bonus, you can ask for lemon juice on your food to cut the freshness which most places don't offer and their butter bucket it's bottomless. Indulge yourself! read more

I don't know why the same location has two business pages but oh well! This is a duplicate review: Well since I'm a regular here (Yelps words not mine) I might as well write a review. Let me start by saying I love this place sooo much more than the fish spot in Harlem (read my reviews and you'll know which one I'm talking about). Yes the wait is long especially if you go during the lunch and dinner rush but its worth it. here's my favorite part: They actually season their food!!!! When I say season I mean Cajun spices, old bay, garlic, black pepper, etc. The other spots just drown your food with butter and send you on your way. They can be slightly expensive but again its worth it ($11.99 for one piece of salmon, not including the sides). My whole office is hooked. This is our "pay day lunch spot". Also they accept EBT cards so if you have food stamps stop on by. Minus one star: They don't have rice. I don't know about you but I love me some rice with my fish! This place is actually really close to my house. Its about a five minute walk to Church Avenue from Legion. It's an okay seafood spot, not the greatest but not the worst that I've ever been to. I've ordered their steamed seafood on more than one occasion and they have different selections of different fish and shrimp. Unfortunately they're not too big on live crabs which is a big dissapointment for me. Their steam seafood is okay. I've ordered their steamed salmon with steamed shrimp with broccoli and corn and it was really mushy like overcooked. Everything was falling apart and you have to be careful to tell them how much butter and seasoning you want because they will deffinitly give you a heart attack. Talk about extreme thirst. Also a little pricey. I'd say skip this and buy your own seafood to steam or take a dollar cab up to the street to fun city seafood! Deffinitly worth the save of money! ! read more

I will start off by saying they have another location in the Bronx that I found first and would drive all the way from Brooklyn to the Bx just for some seafood it was that good. When I found out there was one 20 minutes from me it was love at first sight. I will also give this disclaimer: if you're looking for a fancy date night seafood spot this is not it. If you're looking for affordable, delicious, fresh, flavorful, quick and convenient take out seafood this is the place. When you walk in there's a counter for fried fish and other fried seafood, but just past that is the fresh fish you can choose from. So you get a bowl, pick your fish, shrimp, mussels, clams etc and if you want lobster or crab legs the guys behind the counter can assist you. You also get to choose from an abundance of veggies cut up Abbas packaged from $1-$3 a pack: potatoes, sweet potatoes, broccoli, corn, onions, green peppers, cabbage, scallions etc . Before Covid you would walk your cleaned veggies and seafood over to the fry counter and they would ask you mild or spicy seasoning and how much, how much garlic and steam it. Now during the pandemic the guys clean your seafood and walk it over to the fry counter themselves. No big deal! When it comes out they call your number, place your seafood in a bag and you tell them how many scoops of butter and/or lemon juice. They tie the bag, place it in a styrofoam container and you're gone. When I tell you I love love love this place. My preference basa fillets or salmon, peeled and cleaned shrimp, onions, 2x potatoes, 2x corn, onions, spicy seasoning, 4 scoops of butter and a few squirts of lemon juice I promise you won't regret it. Usually I spend $18-30 on a plate of fish, shrimp and veggies for 2 and maybe $70 when getting crab legs too. Not too bad. read more

Don't let where it's located stop you from coming. One of the few fish spots left in the area. It's gets busy on fridays especially. Great selection of fish, service is good. I'm so DISGUSTED. I have not been to this place in a while and I tell you some people live to RIP off the public. I wanted steam fish with vegetables, as I go down the line to pick a snapper, butter or porgy fish, I look at the gills and realize the fish are not any where near fresh. The eyeballs are practically white and the gills are pale or brown. Ok. So I say let me purchase some crab legs. I ask for 2 packs. The crablegs were $17.99/lb. Altogether, the total was $58. Let's minus the $3 for the sweet potatoes and okra which were $1.50 each. So I'm left with $55. That means the snowcrab weighs 3.01 pounds approximately. This didnt sit right with me. When you give them your crab to wash and clean, after purchasing, and they hand it to you to go in the steamer, the crab legs are covered in ice. I mean this ice can be chipped off. Almost as if they dip them in water and then freeze them before bagging and selling to you. So to prove a point when I came home I weighed my crab legs. One bag, weighed 1lb. So I weighed the next bag. This bag is also 1lb. So, this means they made an extra $17.99 off of me. They obviously have a scheme to rob people. Clearly, they got me today, but you will NEVER, I mean NEVER ROB me again. The traffic in this place it's so high they dont even need to stoop to such a low level. I will ABSOLUTELY NEVER purchase anything from here ever again. WARNING: MAKE SURE TO HAVE THEM MELT THE ICE OFF OF YOUR FROZEN ITEMS BEFORE THEY WEIGH YOUR ITEMS AND YOU PURCHASE ANYTHING HERE. It is an utter hole in the wall, that at first glance looks like a typical fish market, but those who follow the crowd and explore the insides, you will find a fascinating made-to-order seafood spot that does not disappoint. LFC is one of my favorite take out spots in Brooklyn, and I will drive from Bed Stuy to get it when I have a hankering. The big draw - a sultry industrial sized seafood steamer - that cooks your choice of fresh seafood and veggies, seasoned exactly the way you want it, in about 15 minutes. The menu is simple - 1) fried seafood made to order (love the flounder with french fries); and 2) steamed seafood, cleaned, seasoned, and steamed to your exact specification (love prawns and sweet potatoes tossed in lemon, garlic, Old Bay and drenched in butter). The first time navigating the ordering process can be daunting, so I've included a cheat sheet below. The prices are very reasonable and their selection can't be beat. One would say Longwood is "aiight". This is a mediocre fish spot. I have tried their fried fish and steamed veggies. The food is satisfying and with your guidance can be tasty. You have to inform the staff how much seasoning butter, garlic you would like. They have a tendency of being heavy handed and don't mind serving up clog arteries with loads of butter. Watch your dish and be mindful of your health. I strongly dislike the fact that this place does not accept, debit or credit but gladly accepts EBT. WTH? This has HOOD written all over it. I understand that they may have many patrons that use assistance but there are others who visit the neighborhood. Get with the times. read more

I love here my cousin brought me here and I literally could eat their salmon and steam veggies everyday, the only con is that the prices are outrageous but everything went up due to Covid. But I'll honestly pay the money for it ! their fried food is kind of bland you have to season it yourself but that steam food is where it's at must try! read more

Fish market is ok. They have different fish and other seafood. The steaming portion ...ok so the ingredients to me aren't so tasteful I mean they throw a lot of the "medium" seasoning and garlic into your food but in the end I hardly taste anything at all once I'm home. 2nd time coming and it's always paid for by a friend so I guess.
