The procedure was a bit painful for me (I'm a wuss!) but afterwards they put some cooling fans on my face and red light treatment to help with the sensation. I used the recommended aftercare kit, a few days after the procedure my skin was no longer red and after about 5 days most of the rough patches were gone. A week later my skin is smooth, tight, lifted and my pores and fine lines are almost invisible. I think it took 10 years of aging and damage off my face, my skin is incredible and I can't remember the last time it looked like this. If you're on the fence about Tixel just do it, it's worth it! I've also gotten a facial from Teri and Dysport from Christy in the past, both were amazing experiences. Have my next facial and Dysport booked and can't wait! Their prices are competitive and the staff is the best around. I recommend Elysian to anyone looking for some much needed pampering for themselves. During the consultation, Dr. Owen also asked if I thought I could get better. When I said I didn't know, she stated, "With that belief, you'll never heal." While I agree that mindset can support recovery, I do not believe that belief alone can cure a physical condition. This comment made me uncomfortable, as it seemed to suggest that healing depends on belief rather than evidence-based treatment for my condition. Overall, I was concerned about the lack of verifiable evidence for the therapy and the framing that healing depends on mindset. I would encourage anyone considering this type of treatment to ask detailed questions, request published evidence, and carefully research before proceeding. I wanted to believe. For Father's Day I too wanted to get him a gift card, I specifically asked for the exact same thing he bought, response was "okay but we're not offering a Father's Day discount." I said that I didn't care if it was more, I wanted everything to be the same, the amount of time plus tip and I'd pay extra. As far as I knew all was fine. The thing is they give you this card without any sort of specification, they see the transaction on their end but it's not written in their cute little gift bag they hand you. Well now we're at the point we want to book the couples massage; for whatever reason we were told we were getting a complimentary stone massage, and who are we to argue? At the time of booking we were not told of any additional fees for a couples massage. Only once we got to check out did we learn this. This is also when we learned that the card intended for Father's Day was for an hour and not the hour and a half requested. We proceed to tipping, the first card $20 was deducted with a remainder of $40, I'm asking to add an additional tip for the other card that was wrung up as one hour and was supposedly maxed out. We were told that we would have to charge the tip separately instead of using the gift card...at this point we're ready to leave, this is ridiculous. My husband has his card out ready to charge but as we're waiting for all this to be finalized I see a transaction come through for the $20 tip. We were not asked if we wanted that card used, we were not told that it would be charged right then. All in all, the lack of communication and transparency from this place is borderline robbery. It's very scammy and you will lose customers for it. We had a better transactional experience with Elements massage and were previous members there. We were hoping to give our membership to somewhere closer but if there's constant up charge and lying then there's no way.
