Wow! That was quite possibly the worst experience I've ever had with the Tune Up Franchise and the haircut didn't even start! I walked in for my appointment at 6:15 a few minutes behind at 6:20 p.m. I was greeted by a lady in the first chair on the left hand side who told me they would be right with me. After taking a seat another lady approached the front counter who didn't even look like an employee and asked if I was next. I approached and said my name and what time my appointment was at and you could immediately tell that she was bothered about something. She ends up walking off and I couldn't hear if she said anything at all (Again I didn't even know if she was going to cut my hair or what). She gives me this look like I'm stupid or something for not following her and immediately I'm turned off by the whole experience. I've been going to tune up stores since 2018, sadly I will not return to NONE because my stylist left the company. Steer clear from this "business" and location because they have no idea how to make a customer feel welcome. More of a barber shop than the name suggests, and I enjoy it. I think the thing that they really have going for them is the ability to sit and enjoy a beer or two-only two-while waiting to get your haircut. There's usually always someone there at the bar to chat with as well, which helps pass the time. I've been here twice so far, both times I got a pretty standard haircut which I was well satisfied with. I had the same person each time and she was very knowledgeable and friendly, but most everyone there is. The atmosphere is fresh and the shop kept clean, so aesthetically pleasing as well; and the natural light from the windows is a huge plus. The only thing that I'd say is they're expensive, but I would say worth it although the cost would factor into the review and take it to a four rather than a five, but for me the friendliness of the staff and the novel idea of a bartop (where even if you don't have a drink, you can still chat a little with the person there-who is basically like the bartender without actually being a bartender). It was my first time going to the manly Salon since My original barber was facing some family problems. So one day while I was eating in a fast food restaurant and looking for salons to cut my hair with my mom I found the manly salon and decide to go there and it was a fun experience! No communication, waited for an hour in my car when I signed in just to be told to sign in again and that it would be another hour wait. And I was told I was supposed to wait around inside by the staff when there were 4 people already waiting there after I went back in. I don't think it's safe to have more than 5 people in a small closed in space knowing there is people still getting sick from COVID. Reason why I waited in my car thinking that the reason for putting down my number was to inform me of an available stylist. But won't be going again. read more
