We were looking for a place to stay last minute. This was highly ranked online and decided to give it a try. What a win! The staff was super helpful and nice. Our place was as expected. It was a one bedroom with a pullout bed/couch which did the trick. Interior was basic but it was clean and comfy. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Friends and I stayed there for a quick getaway. Loved the beach views! Eric was great during our check in and making sure we enjoyed our stay! Very quaint place with gardens and fountains. Clean rooms, parking, wifi, hammocks, and assortment of books in their little library.

What a great stay! This is the second time I've stay at Cedar Cove Resort and we can't wait to return. Eric, Lori, and Peggy are great and so helpful. The best part of the resort is the beach! Cedar Cove offers everything you need to enjoy it. They have chairs, towels, umbrellas, and toys. It makes it easy to enjoy the beach without getting sandy things in your car. We're planing our next trip there right now. Sun, sand, gulf breezes, and relaxation awaits!

Beautiful Beach Day

First time to the island for us. What a awesome trip. After having to cancel vacation plans last year due to COVID we wanted a vacation where we could be social distanced. At Cedar Cove Resort you can be as social distanced or social as you want to be. The beach directly in front of this resort is almost like a private beach. A lot less people than on the public beach areas. We had a Suite in the front building and balcony with a direct view of the beach and ocean. What a awesome view it was. The suite was fantastic. Very clean and a lot of attention to detail.Comfortable bed (hard to find while traveling), great water pressure in the shower, kitchen had all you needed to be able to eat in if you wanted. The coffee pot was a must. Pure relaxation! If you are looking to be on Island time, slow down and just enjoy the beach and chill out for a few days this is a great place to do just that. No pool. But you have the ocean. Even better. If you are more into shopping and restaurants there are buses that will take you to both ends of the islands. Which I recommend. Finding parking can be hard. Highly recommend Cedar Cove Resort. Thanks Cedar Cove Resorts for a great vacation! I did see the reviews about some guests rooms not being directly on the water. This is a cool little boutique resort. Every room and suite is completely different in decor and where it is situated. Some rooms are directly on the beach front, others are set back some and some are across the street. If you go to their web site it gives a very detail description for each room or suite and there is a map to show you where each is located. Every room has full access to the beach, tiki huts, hammocks, beach chairs, beach toys, grills, umbrellas. Etc...

Room

Clean rooms, great staff with lots of free amenities including bikes, water items and beach chairs.

We had a great time!

Cedar Cove has a few buildings that has direct access to the beach. The building closest to the beach shore looks like newer construction as opposed to the other two buildings I saw. Cedar Cove Resort also has cottages across the street from the beach. Our group reserved three units. My unit was the Coral Reef and it was very nicely remodeled with new kitchen cabinets and appliances. It had a deep under the counter sink and beautiful faucet that made it quite nice. The refrigerator was new, there was a coffee pot, stove, toaster, and microwave. The bathroom was also remodeled and I was relieved when I saw a clear glass sliding door instead of a shower curtain. The mattress was very comfortable and I had a flat panel TV in the bedroom and another one in the kitchen. The outdoor area to The Coral Reef had an outside sitting and additional dining area. Due to the heavy rain on the first day and part of the second, it was not feasible to use because it was very wet and there were lots of mosquitoes. The only one thing I would have preferred was a French door or a regular door to go in and out of the unit, instead of the glass sliding door. The other two units were not nearly as nice. They were both on the same building as the check in office and on the same building where I stayed in the Coral Reef suite. One of the three units was more expensive than mine and only had one TV on a rolling dresser. The shower stall was very small where you could barely properly wash your feet because it was hard to bend down without touching the sides. It was so narrow that it was hard to shower. This shower stall had a shower curtain. The cheaper room that was a studio had commercial carpet instead of tiles like the other two rooms. That bathroom had a standing shower that was larger than the other. The shower floor and wall has the same tiles with wide grout and a shower curtain. I personally do not like shower curtains. The kitchen in these two units were pretty old looking and had not been remodeled. I'm glad I was not assigned either one of the other two rooms or I would have been very upset for that kind of money. Maybe they will get remodeled one of these days. The staff was friendly and hospitable. The beach was beautiful. The sunset was amazing.

Beach

We loved it! They are so accommodating. Few things to share. We were at key lime across from the street, not direct beach view but a beautiful cottage! We were just steps away from the beach. Loved waking up with kids and heading straight to the beach in our pjs, honestly. It so relaxing and beautiful! We were driving from VA and reached around 4 am and they had things in place for us. We plan to stop by with more family members on our next trip. Kids enjoyed as well. The front desk gentleman was really nice and helpful. The kitchen well equipped. My family enjoyed!

We absolutely love this place. Old school Florida at its best - A gem!!!! Not a big fancy hotel chain (tk goodness). Very clean, And great service. Don't look for the amenities the big chains have (bar area, stocked fridge etc). Just expect a beautiful little cottage right on the white sandy beaches. We will absolutely be back. #whodey

As others have noted in their reviews, Ken and Jeff are constantly working to keep up this lovely family resort. It is clean and landscaped beautifully, and the rooms are just right! With a sitting area in our two bedroom, we enjoyed the recliner and couch as we watched movies in the evening. In our full kitchen, we stocked the refrigerator from the local Publix and made our breakfast and lunch, which we packed for the beach. Many guests chose to grill out as we saw when we would load up to go to a local restaurant for dinner, but we preferred eating out! On our first night at Hurricane Hanks restaurant down the road, we met up with a resident who offered us more ideas for restaurants for dinner. There's nothing like walking right out onto the beach to spend a morning watching the waves, seeing dolphins frolic, observing osprey catching their breakfast, and swimming in the water among schools of fish. Many of the guests knew each other from yearly vacations, and we have already made our reservation for next year! Anna Maria Island is quiet and family friendly. White Sands Resort offers shuffleboard and corn hole right next to the pool, but the best show is the sunset. On our first night, we were surprised to see how many lined the beach to see God's beauty, of course clapping at the end! Thank you to Ken, Jeff, Joy, and Esther for a wonderful stay. We wish you the best in the coming year, and we look forward to seeing you again!

Dodt house at that time was comprised of 1 room accommodations with a private bathroom and some offered a heart shaped whirlpool. In keeping with the times, the owners have retired, and the HH complex has been renovated and reconfigured with the main house now being closed to the public and the Dodt house has been remodeled to accommodate larger groups (it is now a 6 bedroom and direct Gulf Front rental - from https://annamariaisland.com/harrington-house-accommodations). I have fabulous memories of this place! It's steps from the beach, and the room costs included a delicious, filling, homemade breakfast every morning (at that time in the spacious dining room of the main house), parking, kayaks, bicycles, beach chairs, towels, snacks/cookies, and at least one swimming pool. I was really impressed with all the amenities included in the room fee!!!! The proprietors and staff were so friendly and helpful embodying the motto "Come as a Guest, Leave as a Friend!" I smacked my finger while kayaking and it would not stop hurting and the staff were very helpful in getting us to a doctor, and of course, I broke my finger (totally my fault, Momma didn't name me Grace!) who x-rayed it, bandaged it up, and I was all set after that! Amelia island is a lovely, quiet, beautiful 7-mile island and so easy to bike and very bike friendly at that time! I really enjoyed biking the island, and ocean kayaking to a nearby restaurant - I think it was The Beach Bistro, or the Oyster Bar on the pier. It was so fun to "park" the kayaks and walk up to the beach front dining! A far cry from my landlocked hometown of Huntsville, AL. Holmes Beach/Amelia Island is my favorite FL destination and I'm happy, although reconfigured, Harrington House still offers a variety of vacation rentals.

If you are ever looking for a true relaxing getaway, Harrington House is your place. Each room is unique and cozy. Some rooms overlook the gulf and you can see the sunset from your room. Some rooms have a balcony. Or you can choose to stay in one of the bungalows. There you have a full kitchen, and a bit more privacy. No matter if you are in the main house, the carriage house, the cottage or a bungalow you will be treated like you are family. The breakfasts that are served are not to be missed. Each day is different, but there us always some sort of home made baked bread. Afternoons you can often enjoy home made chocolate chip cookies. Jo and Frank and their son Mark are the Inn's owners. Along with Ann, Megan and Jeanette, they all do all they can to make your visit the best that it can possibly be. The white sugary beach is just out side your door. There are rarely more than a dozen people at the beach at any one time. It is so peaceful and relaxing. Anna Maria Island is a true gem and Harrington house is the crown jewel. Thank you to all of you for creating such a paradise. Can't wait to see you again soon.

We stayed in room 514, and while the rooms were clean, with a nice view, the service was extremely disappointing, to say the least. The receptionists have bad attitudes and refuse to deal with your problems. They double charged us for our room, and refused to deal with us to get a refund, or even accountability. We have been trying for 2 days to get a refund ($600 is not pocket change), and the first day, the manager was here, but wouldn't help much. The second day, we waited for 3+ hours for the manager to get here. Everyone had a bad attitude when we were not the ones who made the, in their words, "mistake". Now, for the food. For how expensive it is, you would expect much better. I ordered the beef nachos for $25, which took a while to come but that didn't bother me. What DID bother me is I have health issues, so I have to edit the ingredients. The first time it came back wrong, i sent it back and let the cook know that i can't have the spicy foods due to health problems, but that it was no problem and that everyone makes mistakes. The second time it came back? Chips and cheese. That's it. So I returned it again and apologized for the miscommunication, but that I just wanted 2 things taken off due to the fact I can't eat them. The third time it came, they said (and I quote) "the black beans were out, so we added chicken instead of beef". What the hell does black beans have to do with beef? So I just gave up, as it was clear to me that they were not going to get it right. Well, I try the food and it tastes like it was made that morning. The cheese was completely dry to the point it was greasy on top and hard, the chips were stale, and made me pretty sick afterward. So, I'd say if you want to get cheated out of $1,000+ for 2 nights, then this is the place for you. But me, personally, you couldn't pay me to come back. (Well, maybe if they paid back the $600 they stole). Sincerely, A dissatisfied guest and OVERPAYING customer. (P.S. the houskeeping and bartenders are great!)

It would really benefit from a full reconciliation by the owner, as it is not a true "resort" and several advertised amenities are either inaccurate or unavailable. Unfortunately, the price point does not align with the overall experience. If you're expecting convenience, note that the coffee shop doesn't open until 8:00 AM and closes at 7:00 PM. **Pros:** Customer service was excellent, and the location is a major highlight--you're just steps from the beach. Free parking is a plus, and the room was clean upon arrival. I also appreciated their effort to be more eco-conscious by using glass instead of plastic in the rooms. Complimentary arrival drinks were a nice touch, and the free rental bikes were a great perk. **Cons:** There are no beach cabanas (only three by the pool, not beachfront), no champagne service, and room service is very delayed (not available until after 3 PM). The charcoal grill area shown on the arrival map does not exist. There was no working ice machine and no ice provided in the room freezer. There is also no true poolside bar--just a small indoor convenience/bar area. Additionally, there is no continental breakfast, and it's unclear whether the pool is actually heated. Overall, while the location and staff are strong, the lack of amenities and inconsistencies make it difficult to justify the cost.
