I had a different experience than the other reviewer. Over the phone, I was given a range of "$95 to $135" per chair, to restore 6 dining room chairs. However, when I brought one of the chairs to the shop, Gary quoted me a range of $150 to $200 per chair. Not only are their prices ridiculously high, I do not appreciate being misled by "bait and switch" phone quotes. read more

Customer Service with this company is terrible. I requested an estimate for replacing a cabinet door and refinishing my kitchen cabinets. The man came did measurements and said the estimate would be sent to me via email. I did not receive it. I called multiple times and only reached an answering machine. I never received a response to my messages or an email with the estimate. It would have been nice to have had a response to say that they were not interested in doing the job. I had seen a sample of their work and thought it was really good, but I would never do business with them now because of the poor customer service. After reading reviews here, I contacted them to repair a crack in my kitchen table leg and replace a small chunk knocked out on the back of a chair. Over the phone I was reassured that they could indeed do this job and I was told to send them pictures so they could give me an estimate. After one week, I called to see if they had received my email...oops, yes they had and would get back to me within 4 days. I never heard another word from them! With the competition for business, customer service should be a top priority...if they couldn't do the job or were too booked up to schedule me, PLEASE LET THE CUSTOMER KNOW! What a great experience. We had the kitchen cabinets refinished with our kitchen remodel. From the time they came out to give us an estimate, to completion, they were great. They worked with the other contractors scheduled dates and times which helped get the remodel done on time. Kevin and Ignacio did a great job on the cabinets. I stopped by the Furniture Menders shop to get a price on refinishing the top of our coffee table. we set an appointment for a few days out. A nice gentleman stopped by , took a look at the job and indicated I would get an estimate emailed to me by the end of the week. a month went by with no estimate so I made a follow up call. Very apologetic and she would check the status of estimate. Bottom line is 3 months have passed and still no communication. Ended up using a company in Grass Valley who was much more interested in doing business and they picked up and delivered for free. read more

I needed 2 drawer pieces fabricated for an antique chest. I took the needed piece in to Furniture Menders and they quickly gave me a reasonable quote and a date when I could pick up the pieces. They called me a week early saying the pieces were ready. I brought them home, and they fit perfectly into the drawer slots of my chest. I reassembled the chest and it looks wonderful! Bad experience. Took months to get an estimate. Took more months before work could be scheduled. Showed up late on first day of work and stayed only about an hour (was supposed to be work entire day). During the hour, he took a number of phone calls instead of actually working. Workmanship and attention to detail were poor. No telling how many more months it would have been to complete the project, and no indication that the workmanship was going to be good.
