Had almost 1,700 sq ft of carpeting installed by Good Brothers last week. Installers did a beautiful job in 6 rooms. They arrived promptly, worked diligently and consulted me on my preferences when installation options were available. They completed the job and cleaned up completely, all the time working courteously and carefully. Greg, our sales rep at Good Brothers, was extremely helpful and was super responsive when we had questions during our purchase process and when we were comparing the Good Brothers quote/bid with others. This is the second great experience we have had with Good Brothers. A number of years back they did a great job on hardwood flooring we installed in other parts of the house. We recently purchased Mohawk waterproof laminate from Good Brothers. A lot of flooring company suggested that we purchase vinyl planking as it is waterproof and scratch resistant but we weren't really happy with the feel of it and decided, with the recommendation by Greg at Good Brothers, to go with the Mohawk product. He told us there was a waterproof warranty which helped us feel more comfortable in our decision. He encouraged us to take several samples home in order to make our selection and we finally decided that we like the Southbury line in the color Calvary. Every time we went into the store we were greeted by all the staff and they took time with us to educate us and help us make our selection. We did check pricing and felt like they gave us a very fair price on the materials as well. In addition, they were very good at communicating installation details and getting things set up. Most importantly, they stuck to the timeline and the finished results are beautiful! Both sales and installers were great to work with and extremely professional. I had work done about 4 years ago. Brazilian cherry hardwood floors. The work was not professional. There are many gaps and uneven cuts. When I asked them to do something they said no. When I went to pay and handed them a coupon they said no. I would never recommend them or use them again. They were brutal. The installers were very grumpy. We just had Randy do our hardwood/laminate floor in our main family room. We were very concerned with the slab not being level underneath our crappy Beazer home. Sure enough, Good Brothers went the extra mile making sure the floor was level prior to installation. My biggest fear was a hollow sound after it was done. The absolute worst and most unprofessional service I've ever experienced. Do yourself a favor, use someone else. First, the work they did was terrible. This is their profession, not mine. Let me know before you put in carpet that there's going to be a gap between baseboards and carpets. The finished product looks terrible. Second, they hire a subcontractor to do the work, and their foreman decides to go in my refrigerator and get a drink for himself and hand out drinks to his crew. When I confronted him about it, he said, "what's the big deal? I'll leave you a $1 tomorrow." When I told him that wasn't the point, that's stealing and not ok to go into our things. Instead of apologizing, he said he wasn't coming back to finish the job, that I could get someone else to finish. When I contacted Good Brothers, excuses were made for the foreman's behavior. When I talked to the lead worker of the carpet installers, he said that, the foreman does that regularly and it's a common practice for him. At the end of the day, crappy work and crappy customer service with no happy resolution, as nobody wanted to own their actions or behaviors, which is completely unacceptable to me. I'd rather pay more or just use somebody else in the future. read more

In purchasing carpeting-its important NOT to make our mistake and not research first. We depended on the sales person to educate us on the proper quality carpet for us based on positive recommendations about this company. This was not a successful strategy. We were sold a heavy weight dense carpet. Now the carpet shows every mark when we walk across it or something heavy is placed on it. Because of its density, vacuuming is difficult and requires extra strength and a vacuum that can alter the height. I researched after the installation and learned that heavy dense carpet is not good for allergies or pet owners as the dander is harder to remove. We followed up and was told that the carpet had a satisfaction guarantee but we would have to pay for shipping etc. This was not an option for us so we have chosen to finish our project else where and not repeat our mistake by not being an educated consumer. We would have returned to complete our project with Good Brothers if we felt they truly cared about customer satisfaction and extended us a gesture of good will by giving us a few $ rebate on the next phase of our flooring project. We were told that the carpet might blossom in 3 weeks which means after being shipped so tightly wrapped it will be able to bounce back after marks are left vacuuming etc. read more

Wow!! Customer service is seriously slacking in this place! I went in to inquire about the new wood-look tile. They have no prices on any of these products and when I asked what the price range of the tiles were, the lady behind the desk told me she didn't know. Instead of taking the initiative to look up the prices she just stood there staring at me. I had to actually ask her if she could look up the prices for me. She took a few minutes behind the desk and comes back with the price of only one of the 10 tiles I was inquiring about. She made me feel like I was bothering her by asking what the prices of the other tiles were. Excellent service. The owner greeted me as soon as I walked in to their store. He also came out to my home so we could make sure to order the right amount of flooring. After the measuring he gave me a price which beat the online competitors price that I had been given per Sq ft. Delivery was about 9 days out, and floor was installed perfectly. Looked much better than I thought it would. I Purchased 1200 Sq ft of Mannington adura vinyl wood plank (dockside pier) from them for my carpet replacement. I can't believe the last two reviews. I guess when you are friends with the owner you get better service. Our experience was horrible and we would never recommend Good Brothers to anyone, not even our worst enemy. We were advised to go with a quality of carpet the owner said was really nice. It was't! After a week the pile laid flat. It sucked! We did purchaseover $5,000 worth of carpet for the upstairs of our home and were optimistic that it would be installed properly. Well, the carpet layers complained all day about going up and down the stairs, sang loudly (even after we told them our high school daughter was studying), didn't put the tracks back down for any of the closet doors, installed a door to our game room backwards. When my husband complained to the owner, he sided with the installers saying they said it was already like that. Of course it wasn't! After calling the owner several times, they finally came out to install the door correctly. This was a terrible experience. Should have done our homework when it comes to purchasing carpet. This was a mistake we'll never forget! Stay away! read more

I have a mixed review. I went in there because I had purchased 2500 sq ft of Home Depot (Mohawk brand) carpet. It was defective. After much goaround Mohawk and Home Depot let me look outside of Home Depot for carpet. Mohawk advised me to go around and look at carpet at their local dealers. Good Bros was one. Heres what happened. Carpet selection was 5 star - I had the best the Mohawk had to offer looking at this store. Top notch. Because of them, I had one that was installed by HD - it was the Solidad Park - color: Bittersweet. It is a wear dated carpet - 60oz very,very top notch carpet - will wear for years. A big shout out to them for having such a good selection. Mind you, this is not a cheap carpet by any means - on Mohawks website it is over $5 a foot. Negative: And this is why I am writting this. I went in there and the gentleman that helped me was very nice - he showed me around, and we talked about how I wanted quality - 60 for the density. But, I was honest and told him I was just looking, because Mohawk was replacing at their cost, and I would not be purchasing from Good bros. At that point, he said, "well then I am wasting my time talking to you." and he walked away. Left me cold. Hello, even though I was not purchasing - I should be treated like a potential customer - since I tell all my friends, and they tell theirs, etc. And, I can write on here. Most customers will just tire kick anyway, and I should have been given the same treatment as everyone else. This does not speak well - if you had a problem with a carpet they installed, would you get this same treatment?? Carpet - in my case - excellent. Service - sucked. read more

Tom came out to my home and spent and hour or more discussing a problem I had where I wanted to continue my hickory engineered wood flooring on into the living room and bedroom. He went over all the possible problems we might encounter and told me that it just might not work, but there was a chance that it would. As I had the color and order number for the wood which had been installed 8 years ago, he ordered it for me with the promise that if it did not look right we would just cancel the deal and all would be done. After the wood arrived Tom and his brother took the time to come to my home and lay out several pieces of wood from a couple of the boxes. We found that there was a red cast to the wood that just would not look right interwoven with my existing hardwood, The brothers packed up the wood, and after a conversation and mutual decision returned my deposit, and the contract was voided. I cannot say enough about their willingness to help in a difficult situation considering also the time both of them spent to make sure that my flooring job would turn out well. They were more concerned about my satisfaction than they were aabout making a few dollars. Having spent several hours with these guys I can say that it was a pleasure to find such honest businessmen as they are. If and when I finally replace my carpeting, with carpeting it seems now, they will be the first flooring company I will contact. read more
