Great experience from the initial visit to the showroom, scheduling, and installation. We had recently purchased a home and wanted new floors throughout the 4000 sq. ft. home. We shopped several flooring companies. Nielson was professional, extremely responsive and hands-on throughout the process, provided a competitive price, started and completed the project within a very reasonable timeframe, and did an amazing job on the installation. James helped us select a quality engineered hardwood floor and walked us through the entire process. His crew had an incredible attention to detail. Our staircase turned out amazing even though it was a challenging aspect of the project. The transition between the new floors and the tile in the bathrooms was prefect. A skill that has nearly vanished over the years. James was the only installer that didn't insist on using thresholds at each door. Very nice couple, but follow-through is lacking. Customer service is barely there. We had our entire home of 4100 SQ FT recarpeted, and there were a few problems that we reported. Now about 10 months out the problems still haven't been fixed. They don't return calls, make lots of promises but nothing is fulfilled. We wanted to support local businesses, so paid a bit more for the product and installation than with several other companies, but still waiting for the fix. A bit disappointing. read more

What can I say about Nielsen's Flooring? Nothing positive. After assuring my family that we would be personally check on during our flooring process by James Nielson, we didn't see him once. We didn't see him after we complained that we had to do extensive painting after their flooring workers left. We also said that there were areas where the flooring was not joined properly and squeaked. We also said that our cabinets were damaged. We also said the installers had broken a number of items, We were personally assured by Mrs. Nielson,however, we never did hear back from them. I guess paying almost $30,000 for our flooring doesn't allow for any customer service. read more

We had nielsons install our flooring a couple years ago. We had an issue with our carpet that was not the fault of nielsons. After a lot of effort, nielsons went ahead and ate the cost of replacing our carpet to make us happy after the manufacture would not stand by their product. We had luxury vinyl tile flooring put in our kitchen and huge hallway. Nielsen flooring did a fantastic job. They came out for a free estimate, and did very careful and accurate measurement. They explained how the existing travertine would be ground smooth before placing the LVT on the floor and talked in detail about the transitions to the different adjoining spaces. Holy crap! We had nasty 10-year old carpet that we finally had enough of and came here a year ago to get a quote. They came out to measure and showed how the samples looked in our house. We dragged our feet and got a couple of quotes from other stores (Home Deep-something was one) that were a little bit higher. So a year later we finally decided to do it and were sad to see that they didn't have the bamboo we originally picked, but they recommended something else we liked even more. Vince, the installer, was really meticulous and matched the height of our existing tile so perfectly that you can slide your foot across it and not feel the seam.
