Don't bring your loved ones here!…read more I went to good Shepherd for my cousin's funeral and was in complete dismay the entire time. Instead of telling the entire story of how poorly my cousin's funeral was handled, I'm just going to list a few major issues, but believe me, there more than I have time to add to this list. 1. Handling of my cousin's body: I can't begin to explain how awful my cousin looked. The makeup on her face was matted and had lumps that shouldn't be there. The worst were her hands. They looked like something out of a horror movie. Seriously folks, I am not exaggerating. Her hands were at least three shades darker than her body, her nails were not cleaned and somehow the hands of a mid-forties woman looked like a 90 year old. 2. Grieving time: My cousin's daughter (who was in charge of the funeral) was STILL saying goodbye to her mother when the funeral worker starting punching her about which flowers were being taken to the burial sight. She then proceeded to take the veil off the coffin and get it ready when my cousin's daughter was still grieving! Friends, she wasn't standing there for an hour grieving when this happened, it had been MAYBE five minutes. 3. The burial sight: When it came time at the burial sight to say goodbye, we were not giving time to approach the casket. Instead, the funeral worker had the cemetery worker immediately start lowering the casket. Time was given for us to toss flowers in the grave if wanted. Then, it was encouraged for people to take pictures of the coffin in the ground. What??? Is that a thing now? Fellow Yelpers, I really wish I was exaggerating. Please, do not use this funeral home!

Good Shepherd was amazing with helping me navigate the process after my friend passed away. They…read moreanswered questions, helped me make contact with agencies I needed to, and were incredibly supportive. I wouldn't have known where to start or what to do had it not been for them.
