The list goes on. Most tee boxes have no grass. Greens are kept poorly. They never rake out bunkers in the morning before the day gets started. Bunker to the right of the green on 6 is just weeds. Grounds crew is rude, one in particular. We have been golfing there a long time and we used to be able to golf when the sun comes up and pay on the way out, but they are rude about it now. 0 stars if I could. read more

I went to a neighboring course on Sunday around 430 and was told I had "no chance of getting out". There was nobody there but figured I'd go down the street and see if they wanted my money. Luckily they did. I was the last guy off and it only cost $18. The course is in a lot better shape than the neighboring course and felt welcomed by the staff. Nice place to learn or teach a newer golfer and great place to work on your game on a late Sunday afternoon. read more

Awful!!! I would give it a zero if it were an option. I have golfed here many times in the past, never thought it was great or the staff was friendly, but nothing like my last and definitely final experience here. I took my 11-year-old son here for his birthday this past Tuesday. I am not new to golf, but my son is, so I took him at a time I knew would be slow. Staff was unfriendly from the start. We were approached twice during the first hole. First complaining they didn't realize my son was inexperienced and to make sure we knew not to hold anybody up (nobody in front or behind us waiting). Second, we were approached at the green and told my son was too slow and not so nicely asked to leave (still nobody waiting to tee off). After embarrassing my son, we packed up and returned to the clubhouse. Not sure exactly what their issue with us was, as we were not going slow and definitely weren't holding anyone up. I have golfed here many times with my husband, brother and friends with no questioning of our speed or skill level. I had to return the next day to retrieve a club I left behind and was treated just as bad, if not worse by the man at the front desk. I wanted to notify upper management of the issue but was informed he couldn't help and I'd have to call later. Also attempted to question why their website says "for all ages and abilities" when clearly that is not true. Was told it did not say that (by all 3 employees I dealt with) and the manager told me I should have gone elsewhere. They are none of what they claim on their site. My family and newest golfer will never return and happily bring our business elsewhere! read more

Wow! Cedar Glen is def a hidden gem! This course really has improved since I played it last. Beautifully maintained fairways and greens, 1 of the tee boxes is having trouble with pine needles, but that's normal. The Third hole (an elevated Par 3 of 226 yards) is as hard a hole as you'll encounter anywhere :) . Only golf course I know you can walk in the Pro Shop and play 9 or 18 weekdays or weekends and be teeing off within 15 minutes, that's unheard of....coming back with my buddies. read more

Pretty much a dump. The only time I ever go here is when I don't have a tee time or am golfing with someone who doesn't own a collared shirt. You can wear basically whatever you want there. I once got paired up with 2 degenerates who showed up in jean shorts and basketball jerseys. Which was no big deal because they took off the jerseys and played the last 6 holes shirtless. The fairways are definitely wide open and forgiving to beginners who would normally lose a box of balls. Don't go there after it rains. Not unless you have a pair of cleated fishing boots. At least 3 of the holes flood and you end up walking around with soaked socks. But I must say, the worst part of this course is the tee boxes. The majority of them are atrocious. A couple of them are almost completely dirt. I can't even say that it is worth going here because it's cheap. It is, but there are a lot nicer courses around with comparable pricing. The only reason I gave it a 2nd star is because it is where I learned how to play and the fact that they turn a blind eye to bringing a small cooler with a few cold ones. Other than that. Wow. Worst course yet. I play a lot of public 9-hole courses, and this one is definitely the worst I've seen. Maybe it's because it's early spring and they haven't had a chance to get out there and clean it up. Either way, this is the worst course I have ever played. Most of the tee boxes are chewed up beyond recognition - hope you like teeing off dirt! The greens were atrocious. One of them was laughable - 3/4 of it was dead grass - hard as concrete and actually GRAY too! Drainage problems, no real difference between fairway and rough, and hardly a challenge on any hole. If you're a complete hacker, you'll like it here. read more

Dump of a golf course run by a neglectful staff who do the absolute minimum to keep the course open. I understand dealing with tough grass conditions in the spring, but it's late August and 8 of the 9 tee boxes are literally all dirt. The greens are laughable. Good luck making a putt without rolling through craters and dead patches. It's cash only because apparently they haven't adopted modern technology there. The crabby old people who work there act like your bothering them when you're at the register. I've played there a handful of times, giving the place the benefit of the doubt with field conditions and staff attitude. There are probably 10 better options within 5 miles. The only bright side is there's never a wait to tee off (I wonder why). read more

I've been here a bunch of times in the past when the course was in tough shape. My father and I wanted to play 9 holes and wanted to stay local on a Sunday afternoon. The course is in very good shape. It appears the owner has put some money into fixing it up. Cart paths were in better shape, and the ranger was out paying attention to the golfers. For golf, its a pretty straight forward practice course. Greens were in good shape. Overall it is a good value. read more

This is the poorest excuse for a golf I have ever played. The greens are a joke. Every green except #9 (you can see this green from the street, so it has to look good) has bare spots, lots of pock marks and don't look like they've been aerated and or fertilized this year and it's June. The tee boxes are mostly dirt and have not been seeded. It does not look like the staff goes out 1st thing in the AM to blow debris of the greens. What a complete waste of money and time!!!!! It is a 9 hole practice course. Lots of grey hairs and kids...but you can pretty much get on anytime you like. My afternoon meetings were canceled so I called at 3pm looking for a single- the lady was pretty nice - told me a league started at 3:45 - if I got there at 3:30 she'd let me play ahead of them. I ended up joining another pair. The greens were actually great when I played (June 08) but the tee-boxes had no grass whatsoever. Good place to practice that par 4 golf. Very forgiving off the tee's and not too much for sand. I say it's a step above the driving range - worth dropping in if you have an 1:15 to kill. read more

Poor golf course, over priced, and long wait times if busy. Most of the time the course is in rough shape. It's convenient if you live in the area, but if you don't, don't bother making the trip. Service is mediocre at best. The rangers can be dicks sometimes and tell you to speed it up, which makes you feel rushed and throws you off your game. read more

Nice well maintained 9 hole course with friendly staff!!

Cedar Glen is definitely a basic beginner's course. Most of the fairways are about a mile wide, the greens are as flat as can be, there's very little sand. Challenges are few and fare between at this course unless you're pretty bad (like me). However, Cedar Glen definitely serves its purpose as a great place to learn the game. They've definitely taken extra care of the greens this season; they're beautiful without a dead blade of grass on 'em, And I love that the water coolers are strategically placed to be in the shade for the whole day so the water stays nice and cold. Some of the tee boxes can get a little muddy, but that's not a big deal. Overall, the Glen is a great course to learn or teach the game. read more

times have changed for the good. i yelped 2years ago after a bad experience at this establishment and never went back until today. ill be honest i had a very enjoyable autumn 9 holes. it was sunny in the 40's and was giving a carpet for some seat warmth and it worked. great 9 hole course condition and affordable. glad i was able to enjoy this course as its a quick commute from my home. thank you read more

Where do I begin with this embarrassment of a golf course! This is 9 hole course in deplorable condition! Tee boxes are very worn and have minimal grass. Putting greens need attention. The 6th hole putting green is in terrible condition and desperately needs repair. There were many bald spot on the putting green. Considering the price of $38 (weekday w/cart) this is no bargain of a golf course! Oh and by the way bring cash as its CASH ONLY no credit/debit! read more

this course is a small 9 hole in saugus. i came across it because the course i usually play at had a tournament. staff was Little unfriendly but whatever i am there to golf not make friends right? it is a very beginner course and great for may be my niece and nephew to learn at. good for kids. i would have rather the driving range that day but oh well. read more
