I've had nothing but a great experience coming here. The entire team is friendly, professional, and makes you feel comfortable throughout the entire visit. The ladies at the front desk are also super helpful as well. For insurance, they accept most PPO however they do not accept HMO or Medi-Cal so that's something to keep in mind when planning a visit. The place is well kept and clean. They have their own designated parking lot behind the building which is nice not having to worry about finding street parking. Before coming here, I was deciding between two dental offices and I'm happy that I went with Cedar Smiles. read more

For starters, I want to thank Victoria( front desk) She was a doll and she made me feel very comfortable to even come to this establishment. I had an infection but come to find out. I had more underlying issues that the doctor told me and she was very informative and explained everything to a T. Unfortunately, all I got was an x-ray and an exam so I can't base off there actual dental work, but I will be coming back to them. I have to go get oral surgery before I can deal with them which I'm also nervous about, but hopefully who they recommend is great for my extraction, etc. etc. read more

I was told by a friend of this place due to a few chips I had on my lower teeth 12 months ago. I've been here for two cleanings, my wife comes here as well and we have absolutely no complaints. The staff is very friendly and welcoming, I felt comfortable even as someone with a bit of dentist-anxiety. They won't try to upsell you or tell you that you need a ton of work that you don't actually need. I left this office feeling like I got the exact service I needed, advice if I asked for it, I didn't feel judged or criticized at all. This is my favorite dentist and I recommend 10/10 read more

Cedar Smiles has been an absolute joy! The first time coming here I felt welcomed & treated with absolute love & kindness. It has been a great experience, my second appointment I needed a few fills & I let them know they would see the 8yr old come out of this 30+ women, & when I tell you the the care I received with no judgement felt like home. The nurse handed me headphones as I mentioned I left mine at home & she also held my hand during the process. Dr.Mina Girgis was beyond amazing as he also made me feel comfortable & cared for. I've only been to Cedar Smiles for my first visit, but I am really impressed so far. The front desk is very welcoming, very nice and super helpful. Yesenia checked my insurance and made the appointment process super easy. I hadn't been to the dentist for a long time, so I was very nervous prior to my appointment. Once I got there, everyone was so nice and made me feel comfortable. Dr. Girgis came in and he was also very nice and made me feel comfortable. I had a lot of questions for him and he answered everything and never made me feel rushed. I'm getting some fillings fixed next week, and I have high hopes that everything will go well! Love love love it here! Everything has gone smoothly and quickly -- from scheduling an appt. as a new patient without insurance, to taking care of my issue that two other doctors could not (removing floss that was seriously stuck between my molars), a full consultation, and treatment recommended and received. Dr. Girgis was/ is gentle, skillful and determined, and I've felt safe every step of the way. Also, there was no feeling of judgement. Shout out to Yesenia and all team members! Thank you for all you do. I highly recommend this place. Major learning experience during this time is to get more than one consultation for major treatments when you are in no pain and follow your gut. I absolutely love this place! Now, remember this is a review for a dental office- but it won't sound like it. It's a small office; but there's nothing small about their service. I messed up my appointment time; but they managed to squeeze me in and sat me in one of the most comfortable chairs ever! I was thinking I could fall asleep in the chair.. at a dental office. Cleaning and polishing were a breeze; they brought in a mobile scanner and voila... all done. Easy peezy lemon squeezy. Going to the dentist is a treat at Cedar Smiles! read more

The staff was able to squeeze me in right away, they attended me quickly, provided me with a prescription for antibiotics, and a referral to see the specialist. Dr. Mai is simply the best. I felt like family from my very first office visit, thanks to her, Dr. Girgis, and staff. The recently renovated office is a nice touch, too. I am wrapping up an Invisalign treatment with Dr. Mai--I cannot sing enough praises about her results. I thought my teeth looked decent already, but Dr. Mai & co. somehow made them look even better! FYI, I stare at my teeth in the mirror every morning, and it gives me the wherewithal I need to go to work (a very tall order) in order to afford a dentist. Price tag aside, one of the things I not only appreciate most about Dr. Mai, but also keeps me coming back, is that she always has the patient's best interests at heart. She has never pushed, and is not one to push, a treatment plan that helps her bottom line, at the expense of the patient. Dr. Mai is everything the stereotypical dentist is not, and that's why you should pay her a visit tomorrow. read more

I've been seeing Dr. Girgis for over 10 months now and he's taking care of my invisalign treatments. I can confidently say he is one of the most trustworthy and skilled dentists I've ever had. He consistently takes excellent care of my teeth and never rushes through appointments. What really sets him apart is his honesty and integrity. He has his core values posted in every room, and he genuinely practices what he preaches. I always feel informed, respected, and completely at ease during my visits. His recommendations are thoughtful, necessary, and never upsold. The office is clean, efficient, and welcoming, and the entire staff reflects the same professionalism and warmth. If you're allergic to nickel like I am, most offices use standard crowns that contain nickel, which I was not aware of. Dr. Girgis only uses the best zirconia crowns, which don't contain nickel. If you're looking for a dentist who truly cares about his patients and runs his practice with transparency and heart, Dr. Girgis is the one. Highly recommend! read more

Had a great first time experience at Cedar Smiles Dentistry. My wife and I had moved to Cerritos and were looking around for a closer dentist to home. Dr. Mai was great. Serving Bellflower, Lakewood, Long Beach, and the surrounding areas at this location since 1976. Our dedicated staff have been Teamster members for over 35 years. Under new ownership, the office is updated and renovated to serve LA County for general, cosmetic, pediatrics and holistic dentistry.

Meet the Business Owner: Mina G.

Dr. Mina Girgis was born in Athens, Greece and moved to Lakewood, California when he was young. He grew up spending time with his family here in Bellflower, where he is still active in the community today. Inspired by the rewarding work of changing people’s lives one smile at a time, Dr. Girgis pursued his dental degree at Marquette University in Milwaukee. After finishing his DDS, he completed a general practice residency at The Ohio State University College of Dentistry. Dr. Girgis wanted to start his own practice so he could develop great relationships with patients, and treat and make diagnoses that meet a higher standard of care. He spends time listening to his patient’s concerns and shares his expertise to encourage and equip each individual in his chair with honest guidance. Dr. Girgis makes dental anxiety a thing of the past and is honored to serve the community where he grew up.

I'd never consider giving up trying to find help for her, but have to admit that options had gotten slim in the past few years, and then I happened upon Dr.Lim's site and noted that she approached her chiropractic practice with an appreciation for the relationship between a person's nervous system and pain which immediately resonated with me. We live in the desert so it took awhile to make an appointment happen, but once there, my daughter and I were both calmed by Dr. Lim's relaxed demeanor and her willingness to listen fully to both of our concerns. I can tell when my daughter is comfortable with someone by the clarity of her speech, as the accident caused her to struggle with aphasia, especially when she isn't comfortable with where she's at or who is in her space. With Dr. Lim, my daughter spoke cleary and was able to communicate her health challenges pretty much on her own. Throughout the appointment Dr. Lim was patient and checked on my daughter's comfort throughout the various therapies and chiropractic she applied. When done, my daughter let it be known that she hoped to see Dr. Lim again soon. Back in the desert later that same evening, my daughter happily approached me and demonstrated that she was able to turn her head 180 degrees in both directions - something she'd been unable to accomplish for at least a few years. She also mentioned that her brain was clearer. All very appreciated. Dr. Lim is an outstanding and multi-skilled chiropractor. There aren't enough thank yous to express our appreciation.

I believe I saw her twice before she went on maternity leave and it was truly beneficial. She uses this electric current machine I believe is called PEMF therapy. I am not sure what it is called but I remember you went down my spine with it and was immediately able to detect where I had my epidural injection. The area immediately reacted to the current. It was tingling and I was aware of the injection site for the rest of the day but after that I felt no stiffness or sensitivity. I have had so many moms tell me that the weather affects their injection site and feel pain. But to this day I have not and I truly think it's because of the therapy. Aside from that she helps align me and loosen up my hips and lower back. I love her so much a brought in my newborn and later my husband. What we respect about Dr. Lim is her honesty and transparency. She is really now out here trying to take your money.
