Dr. Hakimi is truly the best dental experience I have ever had, even though the procedure itself was one of the most intense I have been through (extractions and deep cleanings). He is incredibly kind, patient, and has such a calming presence. His staff and hygienist are just as amazing, literally the sweetest and most reassuring team. They never make you feel like you are asking too many questions or like you are a burden, which means everything when you have dental anxiety. The wait time is short, which helps so much with nerves, and Dr. Hakimi has the lightest hand when it comes to numbing. I honestly did not feel a thing. He is understanding, funny, fast, and efficient. He even gives you a stress ball if you need it. In my 32 years of life, I have never been this grateful to find a dentist I actually feel comfortable coming back to. Came in for my cleaning and to check out some pain I've been having on my left side. I have to come out of my way to say this, but after hearing so many friends and family members get ripped off by dentists, Dr. Hakimi is one in a million. He is not looking to make an extra buck by telling you to do something you dont need. He told me to floss with more urgency around that area and to give it some time to heal by using salt water gargles too. I just appreciated the whole office's family feel and his honesty. This review is long overdue. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Hakimi and his staff. I had let my teeth get into a pretty bad state, and I was deeply ashamed of my "smile." He and his team utterly transformed my mouth this Spring. I was completely terrified when we began my treatment plan, but he and his team were very patient with me, answering all my questions and explaining as they worked what I should expect to feel and what they were doing step-by-step, which was what I needed to relax. A few appointments later, I have a new smile in my 50's. It has completely changed how I interact with the world. Such a relief not to be constantly aware of my teeth and trying not to smile with my teeth showing. In my opinion, the price paid was more than reasonable, and I was given upfront, well-explained options by Dr. Hakimi himself. I had been to other dentists to address my issues. The experience was worse than trying to buy a car - like actually shoved off into a finance office to wait forever for the finance person to come in with a bunch of samples to push me into the most expensive solution possible with no real explanations - I was not a human patient to them in need of help, just an opportunity to upsell a desperate person. I was introduced to Dr Hakimi by Yelp and my sister in law. Since my insurance was going to expire at the end of the month, I needed to get my dental check up done before the 28th. The location was easy to find and the office was brand spanking new and very modern. Priscilla at the front desk checked me in and I waited approximately 30minutes post appointment time to be seen. Maria brought me back to have my digital x Rays done. I informed her I had nasal surgery three weeks prior so my range of motion in my mouth was very limited. I also cannot have my mouth pulled or stretched too far due to internal stitches. To be honest, I was sweating bullets because of my nose situation and was debating if this ended up being a good idea. Maria was super gentle and careful with placement and movement to ensure I was okay. When she pulled on my right cheek towards the end, I raised my hand and told her I felt a stitch stretch. She quickly but gently adjusted the x Ray plastic thingy so It did not bother me. A lot of x Rays were taken and she was just super gentle. I was then brought to the chair for cleaning (I thought). I met Dr Hakimi, he informed me I had seven cavities and that I should get them taken care of. Due to the limited time made for my appointment, we could not do the fillings today. He suggested to have the polish done today and cleaning along with filling next two visits before the 28th. The doctor left and Maria came back to polish my teeth. I thought it was really weird this happened backwards. Normally, I have my cleaning then polishing afterwards but this time it was the opposite. After Maria finished I asked her the reason why it was like that. She explained it is better to polish some of the plaque or whatever is on there off first before you next see the doctor. This will allow the doctor to see better. It made sense and I thanked her for the explanation. This was a good first time visit. I just wish they were open on Saturdays. It will be difficult to return for my filling appointments due to my work schedule. read more

I was told when I made my first (and only) appointment my insurance was excepted at this dentist and was assigned by my insurance to this dentist. Went for my appointment. Had a few small cavities. Not bad for not having any problems for 20 years. But, when I thought I was going to make my follow up appointment to have my teeth cleaned and cavities fixed, I got an estimate for over $1,600 with no insurance paying for anything. If they weren't going to accept my insurance they should not have wasted my time with even checking me in and sitting me in a room and wasting my time. Based on other reviews, I guess if you don't have the "preferred" type of insurance you are out of luck. read more

I had a crown yesterday installed my insurance is hmo so ofcourse I had to pay out of pocket which was expensive as is so I had to get the metal one I couldn't afford the upgrade and he went off on me saying my insurance was a joke and that he hates doing metal crowns and that he would never accept a client again if they can't afford the upgrade . My Unfortunate Honest experience. Proper Customer Service and a Pleasant experience does not exist at this location. I called 3x before my appointment to have a smooth transition and to make sure payments and insurance was taking care of. Soon as I walked through the door the Asian lady just blurted out a price to me w/ out taking the time to properly greet me and look at my insurance and see that everything was covered. When I told them I called last week they said they had no idea who I talked too nor did they have any notes to know I even called 3x. On the way out she was rude and did not even say Good Bye. Also, if you decide to go this place ask for a detailed printout of your receipt to make sure you are not taking advantage of. I asked for a letter to provide to my employer. They sent me a one sentence email (pic provided). I asked for another letter that includes a letter head and signature and they never responded. My pharmacy requested for a refill for medication and the pharmacy never received a response. I had a credit from paying for two services the first time I came and asked for the remaining balance the lady laughed when I asked for my difference back. Terrible customer service and money hungry. My suggestion is to contact your insurance yourself to make sure what exactly is covered and shop around for better rates. If you have PPO do not come to this Dentist because there are hidden fees they will NOT disclose to you until it's time to check out. Also ask for a Detailed Print Out of your receipt, so you can see exactly what you are paying for. read more

Mary, Priscilla and Dr. Hakimi are such great people and are always willing to help their patients. I so badly wanted this to work out. I had a terrible experience elsewhere and was recommended to come here. Do not get me wrong, the place is really nice and presentable. They accept medí-cal insurance but please do not bring business here. The older receptionist Rosalee or Rosalie has been nothing but rude towards me. I don't know if she/they hate people with medí cal but it's so sickening to encounter her. The young lady that cleaned my teeth the first time was really nice, the doctor was cool, and then there was her. She's your first encounter, she's also your last. She basically told me medí-cal won't cover any of it and it's going to be $6,000 to get the treatment done and I asked if she could explain what was most urgent and I would go from there and she was of no help and so condescending on top of that. Some time has passed and I misplaced the first treatment plan form and have new private dental insurance and I requested a copy of treatment plan and boy was it just the worst customer service. Cmon lady. I even called back and was greeted by her complete opposite and asked for her name. She's so unpleasant. Don't answer the phone if you don't have customer service. Ewww. So I showed up on time to my appt, i ended up waiting 15 mins, okay fine I can wait, im not unreasonable. Then, the dental assistant does one of the worst cleanings I've ever had done. The doctor comes in and gives me a quote of 750 dollars. The dentist is a nice guy but dude come on now, this is downright predatory dentistry. He then says that he will finish my cleaning when I come back for my second appointment. So then they charge me 130 dollars for a cleaning that they DIDNT EVEN FINISH. I was so shocked and angry, i wanted to leave as soon as possible. To charge someone 750 dollars without batting an eye tells me that these people have no remorse for the ridiculous prices they are charging. I asked him if he could work on the one tooth that was really bothering me. I was so desperate for some relief I was willing to pay the money. He then looks at me and says "I don't have time today". So I show up to my appointment on time and then you have the audacity to tell me that you DONT HAVE TIME. So it's my fault you were running behind?? Listen I know dentists can charge insane prices but that whole experience was one of the worse experiences I've ever had. I don't like to complain and I try to be forgiving but the fact that I left that office fuming tells you that these people only care about money, not their patients. I had such a great experience! Prior to visiting Dr. hakimi I visited 2 other dentist for a consultation on the same treatment (I needed one veneer and a gingivectomy on that tooth). Both of the other dentists tried to sell me on so many other unnecessary procedures. When I went to visit Dr. Hakimi, not once did he try to sell me anything that I didn't really need. Ultimately this is why I decided to get my work done with Dr. Hakimi and I'm so glad I made that decision!! The first part of the process was the gingivectomy (gum cutting) on the one tooth. I was really nervous about this part but everything went smooth and it healed up great. Next was the veneer process. Within a week I had my veneer in. The veneer was such a perfect match/fit. Dr. Hakimi has been my dentist for over 5 years now and I would not go anywhere else! First of all, when you arrive, the parking is so convenient, and his office is located in a cute little plaza. STAFF The staff is always super friendly and gives accurate updates about time. They are good about calling me a day or two ahead as a reminder, and if they have an earlier opening, they are sure to call me in (they know that I like to come in as early as possible in the morning so that I don't have to drive there in the middle of the day). CLEANLINESS/DECOR I'd say it's a perfect 10! The office has a warm, cozy feeling with blue and cream walls and lot of paintings and plants around. I feel like I am in someone's home! QUALITY OF SERVICE I like doctors that spend their time with you, yet are efficient -- Dr. Hakimi is exactly that. He gets the job done quickly with as much ease as possible, and genuinely cares about how my school is going or how my family is doing! What a refreshing thing! Some docs I have experienced in HMO settings are not as welcoming. Overall, I would say that if you're looking for a new dentist, give his office a try. This is the most unprofessional dentistry office I have been to. First the dentist is very rude and unmannered. It seems his only goal there is to make money and could care less about your teeth. He did a dental cleaning that lasted 5 minutes and basically just flossed my teeth and put water. I have had many cleanings before and they have always bern very thorough, so I know what a cleaning is. I get stains on my teeth and every cleaning I've had they have addressed that even if I have to pay more, not this doctor. I still decided to give them a second chance and scheduled a periodontist appointment 2 months ahead because he only comes Thursdays. Well a day before I get a missed call from the clinic with no voicemail left. I thought it was a reminder for my appointment so I decided to call them anyways just so they could tell me the doctor was not going to make it on that day and if I could come in next week when he comes in. This is ridiculous I took the day off for this appointment and they called me less than 24 hours before my appointment to tell me the doctor was not going to be in. Very bad place. read more

Just the other day I had to come in to see Dr. Hakimi and the specialist for dental implants. I have to say they are a great team and work great together. If you want a dentist that shows concern for his patients and their comfort plus his meticulous work ethic--then come on in to see Dr. Hakimi. When I retired, I had to get my own dental insurance through AARP. My regular dentist did not take the insurance. Through local YELP reviews, I found Dr. Hakimi and his staff earlier this year. He's only 3 minutes from home and a wonderful dentist. I've had to have several crowns, which I knew I would have to, then lost a filling which required another. They take my insurance and everyone is so nice and Dr. Hakimi can give a short that doesn't hurt at all. He also does the cleanings himself....and I get to listen to some of my favorite oldies while I am there. I couldn't be happier and I was so happy, I am writing my first YELP review ever. Had a horrible experience talking to office receptionist (Caucasian woman). She was rude and nasty from the get go. I was just there for cleaning, first time costumer. She ran my insurance and said I was not covered for a cleaning and required a payment, profit above all else right. I've told her in all my previous experience w dental offices, it's always been covered. To her response, " oh you can't afford a cleaning" (with a smurk) in a very condescending and belittling way. I was too upset to reply, she was very humiliating and unprofessional.
