I highly recommend Cedar Smiles Dentistry to anyone, but especially those looking for a reliable and trustworthy holistic dentist (I've looked high and low, they're hard to find). And he accepts insurance, which is rare for a holistic dentist. Beyond all that, Dr. Girgis is the most caring, compassionate, understanding, down-to-earth and likable dentist I've ever had. So much so that I followed from his old practice to this new one. I just really appreciate the consideration he takes to provide the very best for his patients--he special orders materials (for example, used in crowns) from a company in Germany because they don't use harmful chemicals. It's more expensive but he wants the best for his patients. And his chairside manner is impeccable, he gave me a hug at the end of my appointment. I am very diligent about doing research before I decide to schedule an appointment with anyone, so when I came across his website, I was impressed by both his professional expertise in the field, patient-focused approach to care, countless 5-star reviews and specialized dental procedures (Dr. Girgis is also certified in safely removing previous mercury dental fillings). Needless to say, I booked my first dental cleaning appointment and the rest is history. Dr. Girgis operates with a compassionate, patient-centered approach and uses his expertise to help patients. He possesses a rare ability to connect with his patients and truly listen to them before developing a diagnosis/treatment plan to ensure a positive outcome. And his bedside manner is very warm, compassionate & positive, which instantly puts you at ease (even for those who have anxiety with dentists). What is so refreshing about Dr. Girgis is that he is one of the most honest & transparent doctors that I have ever known! He is incredibly knowledgeable and an expert at identifying dental issues to make recommendations based on medical necessity. He truly cares about his patients & their future dental health, and he will never recommend treatment unless it is absolutely necessary. This is unlike many other dentists I've encountered, who have improperly recommended procedures or treatment when they were unnecessary, such as extra cavity fillings on teeth that don't need them or other cosmetic procedures. In my case, I had many cavities and a long history of multiple cavity fillings done over the years by other dentists, which I learned were unnecessary. Dr. Girgis spent so much time repairing poorly-done filling on my teeth performed by prior dentists - he only repaired those that were at risk of serious tooth decay (caries), rather than pre-caries. All of repaired fillings (from 2018-2019) he corrected have been perfect ever since! A provider like Dr. Girgis is so difficult to find in this day and age, especially among the multiple monetary-driven dentists that exist. I would (and continue to) recommend Dr. Girgis to everyone, I have no doubt you will be in the best hands under his care. One star deducted because I had a weird experience with one of the hygienists- and I definitely brought it to their attention. It was regarding changing gloves during an x-ray exam. While looking in OC, I found Dr. Mina's old practice in Costa Mesa. He had such good reviews from patients saying he was so kind and made their anxiety go away! Awesome service and very clean office. I came in for an evaluation and teeth cleaning. I was a bit early and they brought me back for x-rays 10 minutes before my appointment start time. X-rays and cleaning were done quickly. My tech and dentist explained the whole process well and gave me a rundown of the cavities that were found. I will be back to get those filled and they referred me to an oral surgeon to get my wisdom teeth removed. My appointment was at 10 and I was out before 11!
