There's kid's definitely younger than 15 running amuck around the gym all over in the afternoons. Taking machines just to screw around for hours with no supervision. Seems like a huge liability to me, but the parent's probably pay enough for their entire families that the management turns a blind eye. On top of the kids everywhere, the equipment is mostly old and way outdated, though they keep the upholstery good. They have minimal attachments for cable machines.....like, almost nothing for them....I've seen hotel gyms with more cable attachments.... 2 set's of dumbbells, 2 set's of ez grip barbells, & 1 set of regular barbells. A couple of squat racks, and a couple smith machines. Two to 3 flat bench presses, a prehistoric preacher curl bench, and minimal other free weights. The workout machines are older than dirt, in fact they are the oldest of any gym I've seen around town, which is absurd for the price per month. When you want a specific handle/attachment for a cable machine, odds are they don't even have it, and if they have 1, it's taken.....Zero arm machines!! They have a pretty good amount of leg machines with 4 leg machines being brand new but they're the only new machines in the mix with all the other ancient stuff they have. Chest and back are both mediocre machine wise as well....The sauna is 10 to 15 degrees less than it should be and definitely the coldest one I've been to in town aside from Defined hilltop. The steam room is good. The locker rooms are plain DUMB! You have to pay extra to rent a locker, or use one of the one's with stupid pre-programmable installed locks that sometimes don't work when you need to get back into it..... Always fun to walk up front to the entry way in your microscopic towel that they provide you.... They do give out towels at least, which is nice, but a lot of them feel like sand paper and they are on the small side. Mostly they don't have any stain's at least but I've switched out a few that do. Overall the towel's just don't feel good, and are uncomfortable. They also provide gel, soaps, shaving cream, and some other necessities which is nice. The male locker room staff is top notch. They are all very nice and work hard to keep the place clean and help people when needed. The front desk younger girl with brown hair always seems to be put out to do her job....They never say goodbye or anything when you leave, like all the other gyms do in town either. The basketball courts are solid and the balls in decent condition for the most part, and they have all sizes. Pick up games happen at certain times, and at others you have the whole thing to yourself(though that's done for the summer I'd bet). Overall this gym is way overrated and over priced for what they offer weight wise. Theirs kids messing around and taking up machines, and the added amenities they do provide are shoddy and not very nice.

Cons: *grab your popcorn* -The first turn off was signing up for a trial class- at 5 am, and being told when I got there my spot was taken by paying members. -The second was walking into the gym and after doing body scans (InBody) they show you a picture of womens' midsections and body fat and ask you "which do you want your body to look like?" This was SUCH a turn off for me but for some reason I decided to give it a chance. I understand a metric is needed and this may work for a lot of people, seems like it does, but it was just so ick to me as well as unrealistic. -Turns out this is one of those money maker gyms that talks in circles and confuses you to make you think you are signing up for the 6 week program they say they are putting you on, only for me to attempt to cancel within the 15 days request period and learn the contract I signed was apparently for a 12 months! READ THE FINE PRINT AND GET A COPY OF YOUR CONTRACT!! I feel like this whole situation was crafted in a distinct way to no allow you to understand fully, to sign, and to not give you a copy of your contract but think you got away with a good deal/membership. -The gym was unfriendly and unwelcoming. They have a good facade going making it seem like they are into building community. They have group hikes, bike rides and spirit days, but when it came to time inside the gym my experience was that no one cared if I was there or not. I don't need to be best friends with everyone or anyone for that matter, but especially when working out before the crack of dawn a "Hi" or 'Hello" goes a long way. That's a big factor in wanting to come back to a gym, especially a small one like this. This is not your big box gym after all. At minimum the coaches should offer a greeting. The group I trained with was very clicky. I will say the afternoon groups seemed to be more welcoming. After making my feelings on the matter known to the gym owner it seemed there had been a coaches meeting or something because I got more "Hi's" and "How are you's?" from the staff in my last week there then in my previous 5 weeks combined. -The 6 week program: overall fine, but be wary of the nutrition program. I feel like it was portrayed as they would give you meal plans and/or outlines and what to eat. They give you a list of foods to eat and everyone gets the same foods and eats the same amount. That's the plan. -When you sign up for strength classes you are allotted a time slot which is yours for the day and time you sign up for each week. Fine. What is annoying is that if you can't make that time they don't have an app where you can change your time to or a mindbody type thing where you can swap. You text the coaches to see if there is room in the class you want to be in. This is SUPER ANNOYING because most of the time I don't' know who is coaching what class so then they are texting each other to see if it's ok OR they just say "I'm sure it'll be fine" Which would maybe be fine if I didn't get booted out of my first attempt at class and I'm not trying to wake up and be at the gym at 5am to not get to do the workout I signed up for or was told it would be fine to to come to! Pros: -Clean facility -Good equipment -Workouts were nice Overall I would not recommend. I think they are in it for the money and while we were able to come to a "compromise" for the agreement I signed there were so many red flags I should've listened to. I chose Brickz because when I searched it was one of the only gyms I found with small group training. JUST BE CAREFUL, MAKE SURE YOU READ EVERYTHING AND THOROUGHLY UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU ARE SIGNING UP FOR BEFORE YOU DO, AS WELL AS FEEL COMFORTABLE. They are well priced, and they offer a huge variety of classes... I have been going to yoga almost every day and I have found the instructors to be experienced and highly competent. I mostly run in the ABQ Bosque during the spring and fall, so I haven't really needed to use their treadmills much but I expect that will change in the winter. On the few occasions when I have needed to use them because it was cold, or I haven't had time to get down to the river, there have been plenty of machines and no wait times. This is obviously an operation that does well at scale. One of the best gyms I have used in my life.
