Found a few stores with some unique items that were reasonably priced so I was able to get a few gifts and do some window shopping. It was nice to kind of be ignored in almost every store I went in. I don't like being hounded by the salespeople so that worked well for me, but I think it would turn others off. Maybe they were figuring I was not their normal clientele and didn't need to help me. I did get several gifts at 2 different stores, and it ended up being a worthwhile trip. It is a cool little street, and it is eclectic, with a wide variety of unique types of stores with all price levels. If you have not been and are in the area, and want to try a cool shopping experience, you should stop in.

A local friend recommended Aqua Mare, so I took my wife and daughter, and invited a few others. We were not disappointed. Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly by Antonio (mgr). Vittorio waited on our party and Devon (bartender) came by our table ro say "hello." It was our first-time dining at Aqua Mare, but we were treated like regulars. I love it when restaurants are so welcoming. Started with the calamari and the ahi crudo- both excellent. But, the braised beef ravioli was the main attraction. Devon recommended it and it did not disappoint. It's rare that I order ravioli, but this was perhaps the best version I have ever tasted- made from scratch and so flavorful. Ended the meal with limoncello and housemade tiramisu. I would also recommend their martini made with the new premium Austrian rye vodka, NEFT. These were truly superior. This place is very inviting and all the windows were open and some benches also outside. Service was very friendly and the Japanese honey lager I had was good. Dog friendly and got to meet Murphy, an Aussie shepherd, that will melt your heart and you will give him all the treats he knows about behind the counter!! He's a regular and comes every Monday night! There is a back area too to hang out. This is a really nice brewery with a wonderful community feel and just steps from gorgeous Solana Beach. Typically, food tours are paced more thoughtfully with a variety of courses like appetizers, soups, salads, and a solid main dish. The pasta was underwhelming and didn't feel like the highlight it should have been. You could tell the meatballs were previously frozen. Not one person finished the taste. Overall, the tour lacked variety, balance, and quality. It just didn't feel well thought out or worth the cost. It needs to be revamped. I really wanted to enjoy it, but unfortunately it missed the mark.

The only problem is their inflated prices. Pizza is $4.50 per slice and their iceberg lettuce house salad is $9.00. Sorry, but $18+ for two slices of pizza and a bed of iceberg lettuce with some cherry tomatoes is just not right. A few suggestions (other than more reasonable prices): pay attention to dine in vs. to go. Offer different types of pizza every once in a while, or offer seasonal. Turn the music down a bit, off would do too.
