Such as, dog poop left on the ground, (no stray dogs here..) urine scented sidewalks, thefts, car break-ins, rude and smelly folks, paid parking in residential neighborhoods. I still go, but even my 20 year old daughter has witnessed the transition since we've been going for about 15 of those years. Everyone thinks it's cool to own a dog but they lack the decency and or common sense to care for them. Carry those little baggies and keep them leashed. Simple right? Apparently not for some. This happens in my neighborhood too, so possibly this is a millennial thing.. Wait, maybe I shouldn't generalize and blame a generation- all ages really do apply here. Pick up after yourself AND your dog. I could name the numerous establishments here, but I do have a few favorites that I particularly like. Sicilian Thing pizza, Crazee burger, Spirits 619, Lefty's, City Tacos, Yog-Art and a few others I can't think of right now. So if you live here you may take Yoga classes that you actually pay for. Carlsbad is my hometown…read more So you can imagine I enjoy coming back to visit. Carlsbad is HEAVEN! I love the beautiful beaches, rock cliffs, and of course the Pacific ocean. Everything about this city is marvelous. Close to downtown San Diego, only 1 hour from Balboa Park & Laguna. The people here are exceptional, kind and caring. Neighbors are true friends and everyone says "Hello" when you pass them by. The weather is always perfect. Sunshine and blue skies are mostly always in season. It hardly ever rains, except sometimes during June Gloom or in December, before it gets a little cooler. A short drive south and you'll arrive at Torrey Pines state park. This park offers phenomenal, mostly paved, hiking trails and beautiful coastal views. I also loved visiting Carlsbad Village because it's full of artisan shops and restaurants like Richard Walkers Pancake House. The Daily News Cafe is good too but definitely only sit outside! There are many delicious seafood and Mexican restaurants, but my all time favorite is Handels Homemade Ice Cream - must go! Such luscious homemade ice cream with large fabulous portions and an immense amount of flavors. If you bring your pet you will definitely be in for a treat because Carlsbad is full of animal lovers. I try and visit yearly but wish I had more time to go. It's a must visit if you're in San Diego County. I can't wait to go back.

I heard about this rock and added it to one of my many adventures. It is located in Sunset Cliff…read morePark and is very hard to find. I tried to locate it by the pictures that were on here, but they were wrong. After a long search that spanned about 2 days, I was able to find it. I will help you out, if you want to find it. It is located right across the street from 1083 Sunset Cliff Blvd. You can't miss it. Me and my assistant were able to find it in the dark. It is the one covered in bird crap. You cannot mistake it. There is a lot of places to park and get a good look. I would suggest getting there well before sunset because the parking fills up with all the sunset gazers. The rock had quite a few birds on it and is known as a surf break that produces 3 different waves. I do not know what attracts the birds to that specific rock. Some tried to explain it to me, but it was way over my head. I know that it is not much, but it is the little things that matter. It is not a long stop, but definitely worth a visit. A visit here should probably be paired with a visit to Sunset Cliff Park and a sunset viewing. I am really glad that I was able to make it here.

Check out their calendar of events. Earthwell Refill is a zero-waste shop that sells household and hygiene products. Bring in your empty bottle or purchase or borrow one from the shop. We get our shampoo here. Stella Jean has good ice cream. They do a few vegan flavors. I want to try the Date Shake Cake. The history of one place that has the many places that have the many places such as a cheesecake factory that was only used by Merv Griffin which is one place you may say is what is the place and the many things to discover. There are many that like to take trips through the many older neighborhoods which can be declared as some of the older neighborhoods are some of the many where the older times of San Diego can be found. I had taken the bus from the SDSU neighborhood and wanted to see the many other parts of San Diego that had remained hidden for many for some you have to take the bus to get to. To have taken the bus the travel to the area was a time of 25 minutes I had seen the many stops that when you travel on the San Diego Transit route 11 to the area of Kensington Adams Ave parking you can't find much. From the many years that when you look at Kensington the history of Kensington was the history and the background of Adams Avenue that had a Spanish background in the many house that were during the years of 1926. For many that knew Adams Avenue was streetcar row that in 1913, a massive trolley car barn was built, to store and perform and complete minor services to several hundred trolley cars would exit and enter if through a series of switches off. When you take a look at Adams Ave you are seeing the many areas that was the main track system that would take you to the many stops that would be along the many stops from the Antique Row and further on down Adams Avenue. With the many areas of Kensington, you are on a history walk that takes you to the many areas of the park and the many areas of the neighborhood that you see many of the art works that are still on the walls you see from the tattoo shops and the Lastat's coffee shop no that's not the Vampire it might be. The city of Kensington is one place that you can take a bus up to the area you can walk amongst the many locations and take connecting busses that can take you downtown and over to the area of North Park the many areas people do drive by and not know they have passed by history of the North Park area. As a Yelp Elite is take a day and take the bus you can save gas and time where you can visit the park and the many shops of Kensington and the many areas of Hillcrest you can ride the city bus number 11.

One day someone places a painted rock on the edge of the garden. Dave thought this was a good idea. Since then 7,000 painted rocks from over 115 countries have been places in the garden and today you can still paint a rock and place it in the garden. My son is an aviation nut and he and a friend who is a pilot discovered that they can come down to…read morethis quiet part of Liberty Station and watch planes from San diego International Airport land and take-off. It is an excellent locale to park and wander right up to the water's edge of the Bay and really do some awesome plane-spotting. This morning I went early when it was very foggy to check out the action. I parked in the parking lot across from Ace Hardware, right off Historic Decatur. The strobe lights that guide pilots on instrument landings into San Diego's airport when visibility is reduced sit right out in front of Liberty Station and go across the Bay. The planes descend very steeply at this point and you can almost look up above you as they fly over and feel like you can touch them. Other than being very noisy, it is very cool. When British Airways first arrived in San Diego, this was a good place to watch it land and take-off. Now it is all about the new Boeing 787 Dreamliner plane that has all the plane buffs in a state of excitement. My son and I watched it yesterday take off above us in Liberty Station and it is really quiet for such a big plane. Liberty Station's Lookout Park is nice. There are no bums or vagrants wandering around...yet. Lots of young buff types from nearby Point Loma Workout jog by and there are always stroller brigades of young moms from Navy housing exercising along the well-kept pathways. It is safe and clean here. And the airplane action is topnotch! 5 YELP STARS all the way!

It's cute how LSL has a page on Yelp. Didn't see that one coming!…read more But this place does have some purpose. Rating it against other "lookouts" it is about a 2 star show. It doesn't have the scenic views of places like Cabrillo or Sunset Cliffs. And even as far as local airport viewing, there are other parks around the country (D.C. comes to mind) where there are much better views of the air traffic. It's not worth going out of your way to come here, but it is a decent turnaround point if you're out running the park.
