Im always hunting for a good cupcake. They are oddly hard to find. I was really excited that she doesn't use American buttercream, but instead, swiss buttercream! It's less sweet and more creamy, and I feel far superior. I got keylime and german chocolate cake, and my guy got the mocha flavored one. Keylime was the least favorite. I feel the error was making the cake itself lime flavored. It came off more like a lime skittle. Maybe a Graham cracker inspired cake or vanilla cake with a lime curd in the middle and a merigne frosting on or vanilla buttercream would have translated better. It just tasted too artificial for me. The german chocolate cake had a great balance in its flavors. The toppings were amazing, but the cake itself was a little dry and dense. The mocha had the best balance, where both the frosting was delicious and the cake was moist. I dont normally like mocha, but it was not too strong in coffee flavor for me. This may be a con for some, though. They get a solid 4 because of their frosting type, and she was also so very nice and welcoming. The flavors change weekly. read more

OMG!!! I've been wanting to try CEG for sometime and today was my first visit. Upon entry I received a warm welcome by the owner she was very sweet and patient. Everything looked so tasty and inviting I didn't know where to start. My eyes were bigger than my stomach in my mind I wanted to buy one of Everything, but I knew that wasn't the right move. So happy I discovered this bakery! It's Black and women owned which I believe is more important than ever to support! More importantly the food and service is great. I ordered cupcakes for work. Specifically, key lime and fudge. They have delicious centers and were easy crowd pleasers. I'm absolutely a bakery person. I have been to most of the bakeries in the Atlanta area. Although I am somewhat of a snob because I wouldn't by any baked goods from grocery stores. This bakery makes the best sweet potatoe pie, brownies, cup cakes and the chocolate ganache cake is extroadinary. They also have cinnamon buns that have other ingredients and changes every day. This little bakery is hidden away not too far from Lindbergh station. Quiet and neat and clean though a bit sparse - there wasn't much of a selection on a weekday before noon. My guess is that they don't sell much so don't keep a large quantity there. I had a vanilla cupcake. The buttercream frosting was quite nice - not too sweet and almost whipped cream-like in consistency. The cake part was disappointingly dry, which is why I didn't get more cupcakes to go, as I had originally planned. I have been going to the bakery for the last couple of months. I come at least once a week to see what is new. My favorite dessert is the lemon bars and cookies. Very small and quaint, but come early for best selection. The person running the bakery at the time was very patient and friendly and was happy to explain flavors that I wasn't familiar with. The selection of flavors changes every week, I believe? And it's moderately priced, in my opinion - as a working college student hahaha. There's a little sit down area if you just want to sit, play some games, enjoy your pastry. There are various hot drinks and some bottled drinks, and the whole bakery is a nice blue and white theme. I love this little neighborhood bakery. The women who run is are so sweet and friendly and I bought a box of desserts on New Years Eve and they were all incredible.
