Sharing my overall experience how Med Spa ladies treated me so far. 100% true. Biased, discriminated, disrespectful. I've been a client at Celebrity Med Spa since 2022, but my experience has unfortunately been disappointing and frustrating. I initially trusted this place, but over time, I noticed a consistent lack of professionalism and a strong bias in favor of their staff often at the expense of customer care. On Women's Day, I was given the wrong package and double-charged. When I brought it to their attention, instead of acknowledging the mistake and offering an appropriate resolution, they offered me a $450 facial I didn't need. The staff was not properly trained, and my appointments were frequently canceled often at the last minute with no regard for my time or schedule. During calls to reschedule, I was repeatedly talked over and not allowed to express my concerns. One staff member continued speaking without letting me respond, and when I voiced that clients deserve to be heard, I was met with hostility. It became clear that they prioritized their team over their clients, which is concerning for any customer-focused business. When I mentioned that certain areas were left untreated during a session, the response I got was defensive "I have 20 years of experience, I know what I'm doing" instead of listening or addressing the issue. During a snowstorm, they canceled my 8:00 AM appointment with a message sent at 7:46 AM, focusing only on the safety of the staff and not even acknowledging the inconvenience to the customer. This was after I had already started driving in dangerous conditions. When I politely raised concerns about the consistent disregard and communication issues, I was told that I was the problem. The entire conversation shifted to defending staff behavior instead of addressing valid client concerns. I was essentially forced to end my service due to the lack of respect and understanding. It's disheartening to feel dismissed, talked over, and discriminated against. I also noticed a pattern where positive feedback is welcomed, but any complaint results in pushback or being made to feel unwelcome. They strongly encourage tipping and link discounts to gratuities, which feels more like pressure than appreciation. Sadly, I no longer feel comfortable returning to this spa. I hope they reflect on how they treat clients--especially those from diverse backgrounds and work on building a culture that values respectful, two-way communication. I did my research before picking a spa since I've never had a professional facial and I'm beyond happy with my choice. I was really pleased to hear they do an initial appointment in person to get to know you, and help you achieve your goals. Chelsea was very informative and gave me great info. Went in for a consultation in 2021, after my girl friend recommended this place but waited to buy. In December of 2021 my sons GF got a package with them, so I decided to buy a package during their spring event in 2022. This holiday season Groupon had a special so I decided to buy 1 more area for myself... when I called them to redeem my Groupon, I was told I couldn't use it! They say rules state only 1 Groupon per customer is allowed, I told them I've never purchased a Groupon for their spa before, that I went directly to them & bought my package directly from them during their Spring Event. They are telling me THEY gave me the Groupon pricing, which was never informed to me & even IF they had, I DID NOT PURCHASE A GROUPON BEFORE. So as far as the fine print goes... I'm going to start this review by telling you that the front house staff is fantastic always happy. I had cool sculpting done and Did not see any results on my arms. The nurse was supposed to call me within 48 hours of each procedure and I never got that phone call. This place burned my girlfriends bottom and refused to open a professional liability claim under their policy. They were basically going to force her to get an attorney before they did the right thing. They only reimbursed her what she had not used. But she's gonna be scarred for life. So because they don't do the right thing you should not go to this establishment. Money hungry people that don't do the right thing. And don't keep their promises. read more

The staff is exceptional at this salon, everyone is very knowledgeable in the services offered and what services would benefit your individual needs. I have been receiving laser hair removal treatments on two areas of my body (legs and underarms) since December. Celebrity Spa has a very clean facility in a convenient location with lots of parking. The staff is always very friendly, whether it is over the phone with reminder calls for my appointments or in person. Jen has been facilitating the procedures for me. She is so awesome! She does an amazing job explaining the procedure and setting expectations before/after each visit. I have sensitive skin and I have always struggled with ingrown hairs and razor burn. I have not had a single ingrown hair since I started! I'm on treatment three but I have already been impressed with the results! My hair grows back finer and my skin in the areas that have been treated is so much softer. I am sooo happy with the results and I wish I did this sooner! I used to think this type of procedure was out of my budget but if you check in on yelp while you are there, there are deals. 5 Stars all the way! From the beginning Alia has been helpful and kind to me as I navigate the offered treatments and fit them into my budget. She's worked out payment plans and offers me any deal she can. She also talks through the treatments with me and offers her own experiences as a form of guidance and reassurance. I started with a laser treatment groupon and have moved on to more areas and Venus Freeze treatments. I exclusively see Dawn for my procedures and trust her to the core. She takes really good care of me and her experience is apparent from the first treatment. The facility is very clean, well cared for, inviting, and you can tell the owner puts money into his equipment. It makes a huge difference. I have been a loyal client at Celebrity Med Spa for at least 4-5 years, primarily for spray tan services. I have had nothing but good experiences with the staff and services. The salon is always clean. The manager, Alia, is always super friendly, accommodating, and professional. She goes above and beyond to ensure the client experience is positive. I will also note that I have been to several other tanning salons in the area over the years, and everyone loves to push you into buying more stuff. If you are BLACK do not come here unless you want to be embarrassed!!! Honestly, I have never felt more disrespected in my life. I ordered a Groupon and set up an appointment to go in for laser hair removal on my neck. I walk into the facility and was greeted nicely by the receptionist. She gave me paperwork to fill out and I took a seat. While I was waiting for my paperwork to be processed. The general manager Alia Lunak walks up to me just to tell me "I'm sorry our machines do not treat your skin type here. You are too dark for our machines" Now I know Portland does not have the largest African American population but come on. I am not what most would considered the darkest black person out there. I have been getting hair removal since 2006. From Los Angeles to Houston Texas and never once in my life has anyone ever told me that I was too black to be treated. After telling me that I was too black for their machines. The manager followed up with the statement "yea you're going to have a hard time finding anywhere in Oregon that will treat your skin type. It's a common problem." She also stated "I wish I had some recommendations or somewhere else you can go but I just don't..sorry, try and google it". Meanwhile she did not bother to lower her voice as she embarrassed the hell out of me in front of their all white customers. I would love to sit and say this was not a race issue but if you know your machines do not treat black people why not make that well known on your website and group on description so people like me do not have to walk our black asses up to your establishment to be embarrassed and told we are too damn black for your machines?! I have an idea! Why don't you get machines that are inclusive for all skin types. Unless, you purposely do NOT want all skin types i.e black people coming into your facility. Black people you have been warned. Take your business elsewhere. I was well-taken care of from my initial consultation with Alia, to my first series of appointments with Dawn, then going on to being treated by Ashley. Never once have I felt self-conscious or uncomfortable, in fact, everyone on the staff has been anything short of friendly and welcoming, anticipating my needs and ensuring they are met. My results have been amazing, and have greatly contributed to my increased self-confidence. I just wish I'd tried this earlier. I would, and have, recommend the services here to any other interested parties, and plan on continuing to use them for other treatments in the future. Do not go here. I purchased the Groupon for 6 large areas, intending to do my lower legs. I show up and drive out of my way for the consult. Brittany took me back to do the consult. I explained to her that I've had laser hair removal in the past... Brazilian, under arms and upper lip. She told me to come every 6-8 weeks is what they recommend and you have 2 years to use your Groupon. DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS. You need to go every 4-6 weeks, for your hair cycle growth to continued to be lasered and "kill it" and you need to keep it up. I only needed 5 treatments before every 4 weeks and all my hair was gone (this was at a different laser spa in CA when I lived there) I then asked her what is the standard setting they use to start? She said they don't do disclose that and to "leave it up to the professionals", MAJOR RED FLAG. My prior med spa, told me and gave me a copy of the settings they used. Huge huge red flag that they don't disclose that to you upfront and during your visits. I knew the offer was too good to be true and before I was paying $130 per visit for Brazilian. Save your money. This place is a scam!!! Brittany also spoke in a condescending and demeaning tone, which was really rude. I've had this done before, you're not going to fool me. Also brittany redeemed my Groupon voucher before the consult. I showed it to her and then she pressed redeem. She obviously knew what she was doing. Because now it's harder for me to get a refund with Groupon, as Groupon has to contact the spa. Why redeem the voucher? I went in for a free consult. I didn't have any services performed. But she redeemed the voucher for services. I also made a complaint with the BBB. I'd like them to work with Groupon so I get a full refund. ALSO see Peggy's review down below... I purchased 8 hair removal sessions and paid enormous amount of money and besides that their hair removal laser technology was inefficient, I missed one appointment due to the car accident and they wanted to change me 25$ cancellation fee, i refused and then they said they wont be able to give me all my sessions(i had 3 left) this all thing pissed me off enough so I didn't do it. After one year out of an accident,my husband buying me Groupon from the same business when i called to make an appointment they said I still owe them 25$. The front desk lady was rude and snobbish, made me feel like I was cheap because I didn't want to pay 25$ and used the Groupon. Their hair removal laser technology is painless, but inefficient. It is not laser. It is like a small hair dryer and it creates a little heat and that's all it does. 4 years ago, I had three sessions of hair removal laser for my underarm in a medical center and my hair never grow back. Their machine created sharp pulses of laser and targeted each hair, it was a little painful, but it was effective. I saw Celebrity spa very close to my place and I got 6 sessions for my upper lip. My upper lip hairs grow back exactly the same as 6 months ago. Absolutely, no changes within the 6 months and after. I did a little research and I found out that for the real hair removal laser they have to go to school and study for two years, and many of these spa folks are not trained to do real laser. They usually have the esthetician certificate which gives them the permission to do less important tasks like facial or the fake laser. I would recommend spending your money in a qualified medical center that has real laser devices. read more

Not for African American women with medium brown skin. DO NOT BELIEVE OTHERWISE. I heard about this spa through Groupon. My technician was Ashley. She assured me that she had performed the laser hair removal on a lot of brown women. She went into detail about how the machine had two settings one for types I - 3 ( Asians and Caucasian) and one for types 4-5 ( darker skin like African-American). During the process she explained that because I had hair on my legs the laser would stay on the surface and that it would feel like my hair was getting tweezed. I told her repeatedly that it felt like my skin was burning. However, she continued to run the wand over the area. At the end of the session I told the coordinator, Alia, that my skin felt like it was burning and she explained that the sensation would be gone in 30-45 min. It is 6 hours later and my skin still feels like it's on fire. I've iced it and put lotion on it. I can see the pigment in my skin already darkening. I spent 10 min filling out paperwork and they barely spent any time reviewing it or even going over it with me. My sisters, this is a risk I would not take again. I recommend the following: It is more expensive but try to find a removal place with a yag laser in a dermatologists office. It works great and you walk out pain free. I've been coming to Celebrity for laser treatments for about 2 years now. There are ups and downs, but as you can tell from the 4 stars... far more ups. The good: Great customer service. Alia makes sure I'm taken care of, makes sure I'm happy with my treatments and when i'm not, she fixes it. Most of the techs are super professional and do a great job. I've been seeing the same people for two years, so at least on the treatment side, there's low turnover which is good. Especially when someone is getting very personal with a laser and your lady bits. The bad: I've found one tech that I don't get good results with. Luckily, Alia has made sure to take care of me with that regard. It's taken MUCH longer than I anticipated to get the results I was expecting based on our initial conversations, I attribute it partly to this tech. But everyone is super nice and make an unpleasant half an hour more bearable. Definitely worth checking out. I'd recommend (and have) it to friends for sure. read more

I had purchased a package of laser treatments that was ending today and I was planning on purchasing a maintenance package today regardless. However when I arrived there was misunderstanding of my package already had ended. I was caught off guard and confused by this, as well as upset because I came to my appointment thinking I still had a treatment left. As well as although I do believe the prices for laser treatment of Celebrity Spa are fair given the quality of service it still is not cheap by any means - and so that came as a blow. Her willingness to help clarify, listen to understand, but more importantly extending grace to me when I was upset and providing exceptional customer service to me when I know I was not at my best is something I will not forget. She walked into the situation with little awareness of what was happening and not only prevented a situation from becoming more inflamed, but went far above the call what she justifiably needed to provide. She understands the value of excellent customer service and put it into action today, in a way that just doesn't happen often these days. I was grateful for her service and my experience with her solidified my customer loyalty with this business. So very satisfied! Celebrity is not only an amazing value it's a beautiful space. From the moment you walk in the door you can tell that they care about their clients. It's obvious that these ladies enjoy coming to work and love seeing happy clients. Alia always greets me by name and offers me a bottle of water. I bit the bullet and decided to get Botox, because every time I looked in the mirror, all I could see were the deep lines in my forehead. I'd heard a lot about Botox, how it feels, etc., during the process, so I somewhat knew what to expect. I scheduled my appointment with Nikki, and was extremely pleased with the results. I told her I didn't want it to make my eyebrows look like I had crazy face, and she definitely delivered. It took about 7 days or so, but the lines in the my forehead are completely gone - thank goodness! Nikki was very helpful in answering my questions when I had them, not to mention the place is immaculate. I tan at Celebrity Tan because it is the cleanest, nicest tanning salon around without pushy customer service, so I fully trust their brand. Celebrity Med Spa did not disappoint in this regard, either. After a pack of treatments which I had purchased was not working for me, the staff and manager worked with me to switch them out for something more suitable and more comfortable. The worse customer service I have ever experienced! I was given an appt. on 2/22/19 at 2:15. I was told this was the time, then given a reminder card and then received a call the night before. I arrived for my appt. 7 minutes early, walked in and 2 staff members were behind the counter. I was greeted by one staff member, the other was working on th computer. I told her my name and that I had a 2:15 appt., she said she would go let the doctor know. The other women who was working on the computer told the staff member who had spoken to me that the doctor was on her break, she was not to let the doctor know that I had arrived and I could sit down and wait till the doctor was ready for me. She did not look at me or acknoledge my presence, feeling snubbed, I went and sat down. I waited until 2:30 and went back up to the counter and asked what time was my appt.? The girl behind the counter looked it up and said 2:30!!! I was gobsmacked! I asked her why I was told 2:15 and she said "I don't know." I asked for a refund, I told her I did not want to do business with you people, she told me she could not give me a refund today, it wold take at least 3 days. I told her, "yes, you can!". She said she would have to speak to her manager, I told her to go get her manager. The woman who came out was the woman who had snubbed me earlier. We exchanged words and she asked me why I was so rude?!! She was condenscending and patronizing. After about 15 minutes she gave me a refund. As I left some one behind the counter said "bye Kerry" in a very snarky tone. I had laser hair removal done several times mostly painless and the staff is professional and friendly. I appreciated their honesty in terms of getting results, that I may need more than six sessions during the initial consultation. This means I could be out of pocket more money, which is nice to know up front rather than after finishing the series. I am on my 4th session and the results are outstanding! Being a male I was a little intimidated going to my first appointment, but my technician Jen and the rest of the front desk staff made me feel comfortable every visit thus far. I initially had a bad experience with this business stemming from a series of miscommunications and am so surprised that they worked very hard to turn that impression around. I am also blown away by my laser hair removal results after just half the sessions done so far and see a noticeable improvement.
