5/5 Stars I just have to rave about Celebrity Tanning on Happy Valley Road--this place is top-notch! Every single time I've gone in, the experience has been smooth, professional, and super welcoming. But what really impressed me was my recent visit. I came in close to closing time and ran into an issue with my debit card (it had been hacked and the PIN had been changed). I was flustered and ready to just leave, but the staff was so kind and understanding. Instead of rushing me or turning me away, they told me not to worry and to take my time. They even offered me a courtesy tan and said we could sort out the payment later, either that night or in the next few days--whatever worked for me. That level of trust and customer care is rare and meant the world to me. Thanks to their patience and genuine hospitality, I was able to relax and actually enjoy my tan. Their beds are phenomenal--super clean, powerful, and well-maintained. I have the Luxury Package, which I highly recommend! It gives you access to every Celebrity Tanning location, any bed you want, red light therapy, and discounts on lotions. You also get a free spray tan when you sign up, which is such a great perk. While this specific location doesn't have the cold plunge, they do offer the red light beds--which I love. I'll be trying out the cold plunge at the Scottsdale location next week and I can't wait. I saw a coupon on their website that states $20 spray tan, so I called last night (8-23) and spoke to a very nice girl who clarified $20 covers any color (the only addition was bronzer and fragrance). She confirmed the time I wanted to come in which I said 9am. I get there at 9. Annie was working and asked all my info she stated the coupon is for first time customers. I said I don't ever recall coming to a celebrity tanning which she states it's been years (ummmm ok). She'll make an exception for me...great since I have my appt and was never told any of this last night. I was then told they don't even do appts....Annie says the girl must have been new (wonderful). Then asks me light or medium, I say medium and apparently it's an extra $5. I said this is why I called last night, to make sure everything was covered-she states it is in really small print. At this point there is someone behind me and it's embarrassing. I paid it and did the mystic tan. After getting home I look at the website and of course none of the "info" is anywhere on that coupon. If you go it's best to know all of the exceptions that you will not find on their website. Edit--- Jaclyn asked to hear more of my experience.... Went into celebrity tanning today to check out prices as I have been wanting to get a good tan for my upcoming wedding. Amber was working and helped me out. She was so friendly when I came in and offered me a tour. She showed me all the beds and explained some things about each so I knew the different levels and what they would do for me. I loved that she was so informative and answered all my questions so I was able to choose the right package. She never once tried to sell me or suggest the most expensive package which made me feel comfortable. There prices are very fair compared to competitors and I love that they have 0$ down deposit and you can cancel anytime with no contract. I tanned today in the diamond bed and it was amazing. There is so many features and personalized buttons which made it so comfortable. I feel like I got a great tan without burning. As soon as I got out Amber asked me how I liked it which was sweet. I was just there and raced out halfway through because there were men walking above the spray tan booth after dark and they got silent when I unclothed but walking and talking directly above me while in the booth, I told the front desk and she said don't worry love I will text my manager and I asked her to call the police. I've been to multiple Celebrity Tanning locations around the Valley, and have always been greeted with smiling faces, professional demeanor, and all facilities are clean and organized. I have no comparison to other tanning businesses as I have only ever used Celebrity. I love the monthly plan, and that I can suspend it whenever I want. I experienced a billing issue earlier this year, and it was resolved to my satisfaction. Their hours are really convenient as well. read more

One of the best tanning locations in the valley. The staff is really friendly and always working super hard. This location never gets to packed. I've only had to wait a few times for a bed and I've had my tanning package here for a year. The bulbs are never dull and the beds are great. They keep all of their equipment up to date and working to the greatest ability. They also have the latest selection of tanning lotions too! I'll be staying with this location for awhile! I have been tanning at Celebrity since last May. The staff is young but the girls are all so friendly, they know everyone's name, and are very glamorous looking. The price is fair and they're constantly upgrading the salon; new bed lights, new rugs, etc. I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes for a bed and the staff is constantly staying busy with upkeep of the salon. highly recommended! read more

Purchased a groupon for a mystic tan at this location. Upon arrival I was informed of the groupon only being for the 'glow' option which isn't an actual tan. if you want color, it was an additional $5 plus the optional enhancer for $5. Since this information wasn't in the offer, I only rated 2 stars. Even when I expressed dissatisfaction, the employee passed the buck as it wasn't in her control. No apology or accountability. I don't know if I would come back? We'll see how the tan turns out... read more

I pay for platinum level but it's a joke. There is only one bed at that level though they claim bed 5 is but as one other reviewer noted it is a very old bed, it is a 12 min max vs. 10, fans not cool air, no cooling feature on the bed, no place to plug in headphones in other words anywhere else this is a mid-level bed at best. About 2 months ago I came in (and I will wait for the one bed as that is what I pay for, they try to talk you in to taking a lower bed), and the girl at the counter told me they are running a special. A tanning lotion and Hempz combo. It was a good price, slightly better than Amazon considering the two products so I said ok and paid for it. Then she tells me, I'll have the Hempz in a few days. Wait? What? Why didn't you mention that. I came in a few days later and they said they accidentally sent my Hempz lotion to the other store but next week they will have it. That song and dance continued for the next 5 weeks until I got pretty annoyed and they admitted they don't have the lotion and are "having a problem with the supplier". She offered me the open bottle of original Hempz. Yuck! Everyone has been testing it, no thank you. Plus since I had to wait so long, I'd just gone out and purchased a bottle of original. This is not what I paid for. She was very nice (not her fault, she was trying), it is not the employees working the counter but the manager, Ashley. She told the desk employee to tell me I have 2 choices, take the open bottle of Hempz (for same price I paid) or they had a bottle of Sandalwood in a different brand at their other store and they would send it over in 2 days. I asked for the manager to call me, she never did. Today, which is 2 weeks after she told me I'd have this alternate bottle, they never sent it over. Turns out they don't have any. So she offered me an ultimatum that she still could not deliver on. So nearly 3 months after I paid for something I did not get, the manager still has not called me and I guess I'm just out the money. I asked for a refund to begin with but Ashley refused. So they simply kept my money. I have been platinum member for over 2 years, but my business doesn't matter. They are willing to burn a customer and it's not legal to keep my money if you don't have the product. I did submit a comment online to corporate but never heard. Frankly this company could care less about it's customers, and this manager is just awful. I am looking for another salon, this one just doesn't care. read more

I purchased a groupon for 3 mystic tans or unlimited UV tanning for a month for 24 bucks witch is a pretty good deal. The girl was really nice and helpful. Groupon doesn't do tax so make sure to bring like a few bucks to pay that. But other then that I like the place. The Unlimited UV tanning is a level 1 lay down bed but she explained to me I can upgrade my whole package for a higher level bed i could for so much more or if I want to upgrade a level bed for a day I can for a few bucks more. :) I like it there and I will go back again. And with the mystic she explained to me about what it does and how it works as well as the colors that come along with it. read more

This place is awful! I love celebrity tanning and have been going to there locations for years and I will never visit this location again. I went in to tan and this location only has one diamond level bed. The bed was being used so the girl told me they had another one, it just was finicky with starting but it's was the same thing. So trusting her I chose to use it. BIGGEST mistake. The girl they have working there totally lied. It was a completely different bed with a 12 min max instead of 10. Had no where to plug in your phone to listen to music like the normal one does. And only had fans not cool air like the one I pay 69.99 a month to use. On top of all that the top was so hard to shut I missed 2 minutes of my tan, broke a nail, and scraped my ankle trying to get it shut. This was seriously such an awful experience and it makes me not want to even go to celebrity tanning ever again. read more

I have been at many tanning establishments and by far I feel Celebrity is the best. The customer service I have received has been nothing but the utmost professional and friendly. Anytime I have had a concern or question it has been handled immediately.., meaning great follow through which is not the norm today. The girls that work at Celebrity always greet you with a smile and they are educated and honest in regards to the beds, spray tanner, and lotions. This review is strictly in regards to customer service by this location and their corporate office. I came in towards the beginning of the month to buy a 3 month tanning package. I was surprised to learn that since their cycle starts on the 18th, I couldn't just buy 3 even months, it's prorated to the 18th then the 3 months begin. This wasn't explained over the phone when I called for pricing. Less than a week into my purchase, I found that my family would have to make a sudden move out of state & there are none in my new area. I called and asked if there was anything I could do to get even a partial refund. I had spent over $200 & only got 2 sessions in. I offered to pay for the whole first month plus the 2 weeks that were prorated. Seven calls later, 5 to the store & 2 to the corporate office number, still no resolution. Multiple times I've been told I would receive a call back and have not plus the corporate number I was given has never answered or returned my phone call. Speaking from someone who works in customer service themselves, I have been very disappointed in my service & lost a lot of money for nothing. read more

I went to the location on Indian school in the East valley. I showed up right Before 840pm. As soon as I walk to the counter the girl says, " It's almost 9om and I have to wake up at 5am, so whatever you do you need to be done like exactly at 9pm so I can close." I'm mad since I pay a membership. So I pick the stand up bed with the shortest amount of time to accommodate her since she's being rude and I felt obligated. I tan and then I spray. She says I'll have the bed ready just run right in there. So I go in the bed I didn't originally want to appease her, and as a rush out half-dressed to hurry into the spray, the door shut with another customer. So I walk to the front and see what happened, and she casually says oh a customer ran in and she's just going to go real quick don't worry you'll be okay. What! Are you kidding me? read more

If you're going to get a spray tan---don't come here. 1, she set up my spray without asking what I wanted to add in and already started the machine before I said anything. 2, I realized there were no hair covers in the spray room so I walked up front and asked her and she said "sorry we don't have any..." like no accommodations or anything. So. I had to stand in there with towels over my hair, holding them, and now my tan is awkward and uneven because of how my arms were placed. These might not seem like huge complaints, but for a spray tan they are pretty critical! Customer not satisfied! read more
