Celery City Bar is hands down one of the most unprofessional bars I've ever stepped into. Both bartenders were visibly drunk, rude, and acting like they were the main characters in a sad little power trip. I ordered an espresso martini from one bartender. Another randomly made it without confirming, then absolutely spiraled when I asked about my drink. Instead of clearing it up, he chose public humiliation berating and talking down to me at the bar like I'd committed some unforgivable crime. Full medieval town-shaming energy. Shame bell not included. What were they busy doing instead of their jobs? Flirting with freshly-21 customers and openly staring at their chests. If you weren't new, young, or feeding their ego, you were invisible or worse, a target. Two grown adults behind a bar acting like sloppy, insecure children with alcohol and an attitude problem. No class. No taste. No professionalism. Just embarrassing behavior that would get you fired anywhere that actually cared about standards. Best Happy Hour we have found in downtown Sanford. You seat yourself after ordering from the bar as no servers outside at this time. We came twice during our trip because of the great outdoor dining experience and excellent service from the bartenders. They have a very limited menu and the lady working it, stayed on her phone lol. The bar is clean enough but the ladies restroom could benefit by a deal clean and fixing up a bit. The atmosphere is so nice and it's kid/pet friendly. One thing I especially loved were the nice wine glasses you can take outside. So many places have gone to plastic and while we understand, it's so appreciated. Come with confidence. read more

Celery City Craft is a craft beer spot located in Downtown Sanford. It is a nice bar that has a lot of drink options. My husband and I have not been to downtown Sanford but recently did come for a friend's birthday. She wanted to hop around different drink spots and have dinner. Since we carpooled, parking was better. We were able to find street parking. There is no designated parking for this spot. We got there very early and decided to stop here. We ended up coming back later with everyone but we enjoyed it. This is a small bar with standing room only at the bar but then they have a huge back area with lots of bench style tables and seating. Their drink menu is also very large with tons of beer options to choose from. They offered a wide range of beers, craft beer, stouts, ciders and more. I am not a huge craft beer fan so I struggled. I ended up telling the bartender what I like and he had a couple of suggestions. He also let me sample one of the ciders, which I ended up getting. I choose the Cider Boys Strawberry Cider. Really great, not overly sweet just very tasty. My husband loves craft beer and will always look for one with a high ABV. He went with the Voodoo Where our Secrets go Stout Imperial from Pennsylvania. It had a high ABV and was a dark beer, he really enjoyed it. Both times we sat outside. The second time we came over, was later in the evening and more full than the first time. They also had a musician singing, which made it extremely loud and very hard for our group to chat. Overall this is a great spot. If we lived closer I could see us coming here more frequently. We do not find ourselves visiting Sanford a lot but if we are in the area, we would for swing by again. If you live closer, I would highly recommend coming here for the vibes, the ambiance and the beers. You can also bring your dogs which is a nice touch. My only negative is there is not food to order. I would love some bar snacks or pub style food. You can bring your own food in but it would make this an A Plus if you they served food. read more

The beer selection and the Korean wings and potstickers we ordered were phenomenal. They have tvs playing sports and good music on the speakers. They have Sushi & Seoul just outside in their beer garden area where they also have live entertainment at times. Service is awesome. You can use Sushi & Seoul for food and if you don't find something on that menu to your taste I am sure you could bring it in from somewhere else too. Outside is a 4/Bathroom is a 2 We found seats near the front area around 7pm and went in for a drink. I went with a Huckleberry lemonade ($10) and it was tasty. It was packed but not insanely, was able to quickly get my drink in hand. We sat there for about an hour, listening to the live singer and getting bit bitten up by bugs. Closed the tab to wander to the next location and then came back after hitting several other locations in the area. We found a different seating area and then I needed to go to the bathroom where there is no fan, no AC - just pure absolute heat in a two-stall area. Walked in and prayed that I could leave quickly, it was that bad. Due to there being no circulating air, the stench was overtly unpleasant and stale. A very fun spot to hangout at! My boyfriend and I stopped by this place while waiting for our dinner reservations across the street. We were invited by the music and the amount of people coming inside the establishment. We went straight to the bar and were overwhelmed with their beer selections. The bartender being very patient and knowledgeable, he gave us a bunch of samples to try before spending dollars on a pint. We ended up trying their #21 - Central 28 which is a Light Lager. Similar taste to Stella. It's really cheap there too and lots of seating so you'll always be comfortable. They also have a pop-up shop for food which is a great touch to a brewery. This was my first time to any of the Sanford bars and I really enjoyed this one! Granted, we did not eat here. But I think their beer selection as well as their atmosphere really rocked! We went during happy hour on a Friday and their local beers were only $4.00. I opted for one of their Casselberry, FL beers, Daydream Tangerine (which was not the greatest) and then tried a BlueRazz Seltzerrr. That one was interesting:) Their outside area is great with a bunch of tables and games to keep people occupied. At night they put on their outside lights which made a very pretty outdoor area. Such a fun place. They have a huge outdoor presence. Their indoor space is limited. Love that they had a costume contest on Halloween. The DJ was great. We were entertained by the amazing costumes- ghostbuster, avatar, aqua man etc. we tried the berry cbd cocktail and the key lime pie cbd cocktail. Both were tasty. It's our first time here and it's pretty cool. Live music, amazing selection of beer, and they let you try a couple before you commit so that's nice. I always return to places that let me try something before committing as I'm still sorting my beer palette. Plus different breweries have varied options on some categories, in my experience. My favorite breweries remain in Colorado, but I'm trying to find some local beers I can rely on. Working on it. Staff are nice. One of the dogs here this evening is barking louder and longer than the entertainment.....we actually left a couple hours ago and came back because of this bad dog owner, but the dog is STILL barking. Love dogs, absolutely love dogs....if they are barking THIS much.....there is a reason. The poor thing clearly doesn't enjoy this environment, why on earth all these hours later he hasn't been asked to leave is a disappointment. I feel so bad for the dog. I'd never force my fur-babes through this. The other puppers are all having a good time and I love that. One of my fav places in downtown Sanford to hang out and chill at. If you haven't been to Celery City, you are missing a vibe! The menu is extensive! They have a ton of local and not so local beers on the menu plus cocktails, including some CBD ones and on tap ones. The highlight is the open beer garden area with the benches and hanging lights. Lots of seating options so perfect for a big group of people. My favorite time to visit is at night. It's a cozy feeling for sure, especially with the lights. Perfect for a date night or just a casual hangout with friends. They usually have live music at night too. I also love that this place is pet friendly! It's so cute to see all the dogs here. During my last visit, I had the sangria which was delicious! A potent mix of wine and sweetness. So so so good. I'm not really a beer drinker so the drinks I get here are either their cocktails or seltzers. I've never had a terrible drink here! It's always been an enjoyable experience. You have to order at the bar area and when they are busy, it can get real crowded. If you are hungry, you can grab a bite at the Sushi & Seoul counter.
