This was our first time trying this out. Oh man, what a great experience. The ambiance was super chill. Really nice. Our servers were Lionel and Wendy. They were AWESOME! I ordered the Lemon Drop Martini to start. Oh man hat a punch this drink had! My second and third drinks were the Espresso Martini. This was definitely my favorite drink. Amazing flavor. First time at this establishment, came with a friend to watch the World cup. the staff was friendly and welcoming; they also had free food for the patrons. Unfortunately, we did not stay for the entire game due to the internet not working properly, the game kept timing out. I had a watermelon margarita, it was quite good, I will go back to try some other cocktails. read more

A couple girl friends and I stopped in for a drink and it was an OK experience. It was a Saturday night and it was decently busy, but not packed. We sat at the bar and watched the bartenders greet others around us that sat down after us. Once we were finally recognized, we ordered drinks and hung out for a bit. I got a whiskey sour and to be honest it was pretty terrible. It might've been the worst whiskey sour I've ever had which was unfortunate because I thought that this place was a cocktail bar. My girl friends said that their drinks were fine. Mixed between the service and my subpar cocktail, I don't know that I will be rushing to go back. read more

Was hanging out with my family in Sanford and while walking around, we decided to wander into here. If you want to enjoy nice cocktails with ambience this is a great place to visit. The staff were great and very friendly. While there, I decided to go with an espresso martini and I was not disappointed. It is probably one of the best that I have had in Central Florida. I was traveling through the area for work. I was so pleasantly surprised to find this wonderful little establishment. I didn't even know what to order to drink but decided to try a speciality cocktail. I didn't know what to expect. I got the best little surprise, that really amused me. Then, the best singer of as preforming!! She was so fabulous with a great personality and great vocals, very entertaining. Our first time at the Capitol Room. Lionel and Wendy were amazing! My one and only gripe is that the menu doesn't tell you what's in the drink, simply just the name and you have to ask. Other than that, the service was spectacular and the ambiance was great. Although they don't serve food, Lionel grabbed a server from the new restaurant next door and took care of us. I like the concept. This place is really trendy, unfortunately we came when the place was slammed and didn't get prompt service. Actually, we sat for a while before any one even came to serve us. But once they located us, we were greeted by a few different servers which made the experience much better. It is Christmas themed currently. And what a Christmasy experience it was. We tried to order the Cartel Experience, like $32 with tax. It is one of their classic menu drinks, and they weren't able to accommodate, which filled me with Christmas dread. Like a lump of coal in my stocking. Riley who was our server has the patience of a saint. We were so indecisive and she patiently explained the different drinks. We went for the Christmas popup and weren't disappointed. Most popups do the corporate drink menu which can be found around the country but not here. They make their own menu and it didn't disappoint. Being a popup it is busy and there was a wait but the staff was great while we waited. As for the ambiance, wow they went above and beyond as a Christmas theme. Even hit Hanukkah properly. read more

Wow! The mixologist KILLED it with this one. I typically get double cosmopolitans and wince at the strength of it lol. So I was expecting that with this, but instead the double lemon drop martini was sweet and perfectly balanced. Couldn't even tell there were 2 shots in it and the sugar rim was super yummy. We went for the Pinup GOGO burlesque event and it was AMAZING. The performers and the entire team were incredible, so welcoming, fun, and super accommodating. The bar itself is a great space and beautifully decorated, which really added to the vibe of the night. There was only one waitress covering the entire bar, and she truly did her best to keep up. We appreciated her effort and attentiveness, especially managing everything on her own. We did try making conversation at the bar, but the interaction felt a bit short. I ordered a mocktail and asked her to surprise me since there wasn't a mocktail menu. She brought a pineapple drink that unfortunately tasted off, it turned out the juice had gone bad. My husband ordered two $12 cocktails, and both were noticeably watered down. I ordered a second mocktail, though, and that one was actually really good. I do want to point out that the drinks did come out in a timely fashion. Overall, the event and atmosphere were fantastic, and while there were a few drink hiccups, we could tell the staff was doing their best. read more

We stopped in before attending a show at Theater West End, it was the start of the holiday season so the bar is decked out for Christmas! The decorations are amazing, such a fun and cozy atmosphere! I love that you can pretty much walk in anytime, no reservations needed. We had a couple of dirty martinis as well as an espresso martini and one of the special holiday drinks. We met the owner. He was wonderful. I love supporting a local business. He's very particular about his selections in the bar. I love a craft cocktail and the menu has a large selection plus their featured cocktails. They do drag events. The owner also creates the art featured in the bar (he was telling us of his future plans and that they would be selling the current ones at the next event) Bathrooms were beautifully decorated. Overall a great bar. Would 1000/10 recommend. I got the cartel experience, which is perfect for social media. Everyone was commenting on it. read more

Cute little place. Has the "speakeasy vibes". Nice dark room with beautiful seats. There's several tables and a bar area to sit. We sat towards the back cause we were a rather large group of 6. In the back there is a stage area so looks like they might have performances as well. Our waitress was extremely knowledgeable and helpful! She made some great drink recommendations based off the kinds of spirits we usually drink. All her recommendations were on point! When we got our drinks, they were perfect, I had the aviation (because its a favorite that is hard to find on menus). It was the perfect blend of gin and Violette. I loved every sip of it. Prices are great and the drinks are strong! Great place to come bar hopping. There's lots of bars in the area and this one is definitely a must! read more

When people describe their favorite bar, this is what my mind goes to. Located in a heart of downtown Sanford this gem is unique. The Customer Service is absolutely phenomenal as where the drinks everything is handcrafted and unique. The selection is impressive and unique. This is not the place to go and order a jack and Coke but to tell your friendly bartender what you're in the mood love and let them take the wheel. The low lights in candle (electric) make this the perfect date night spot. This is very adult friendly and that's totally different crowd than the typical Sanford first Street lounge or West End . Stumbled upon this bar while walking around downtown Sanford and so glad I did. The outside and inside was so done up with christmas decorations. Garland strung, several christmas trees all lit, and lots of ornaments. Our party sat at the tables in the front of the bar. We all ordered from the curated christmas cocktail menu. I ordered the peppermint mocha expresso martini and thought it was delicious. The rim was a peppermint marshmallow fluff. We all thought the cocktails were yummy and contained a decent amount of alcohol. The christmas cocktails ranged from $14-$16. The alcohol within the bar isn't the "everyday" brands you may be use to seeing. This is a craft cocktail bar with elevated options. They even allowed us to try the key lime gin that intrigued us. It was quite nice. I am looking forward to visiting again. I would recommend this place for a date night or a classy night out with friends. read more

New cocktail bar that recently opened up and we had the pleasure of visiting during a friend's bachelorette party. They do have a room in the back that looks like it could accommodate and larger party but other than that the bar is small but very creatively decorated with a fun posh vibe. We ordered several cocktails here (as one does at a bachelorette party) and enjoyed them all. The Cartel Experience is hysterical and a fun experience. What a creative way to present a cocktail! I also really enjoyed the porn star that I tasted and pretty much everything else! The staff there was very friendly and informative and knew a lot about the cocktails, including why they were called what they were. I look forward to going back and tasting some of their other cocktails. At the time that we went, it was drinks only and no food so make sure you prep that belly before you get boozy in there! read more

I absolutely love this place! They have amazing cocktails and the decor inside is gorgeous. It was Midsummer Nights Dream themed when I went and it was fully decorated. A nice drink with my favorite person. Bee's Knee's and a Monkey Shoulder on the Rock's. My favorite Bar to have a drink downtown Sanford. Service is #1 and the Ambiance the best. My husband and I have been there about three times, and find it very cool The Capital Room is of course a bar, but very different from your run of the mill bar. First, the ambiance is very welcoming. They have small tables with these delightful little lamps on them. They DO NOT have any BRAND NAME liquor as in all other bars like Jack Daniels, Tito's, Bombay, etc.; however, they DO have liquor that is as good, if not better than the name brand liquor. The young and handsome bartender, Kaz is a "Flair bartender " who will dazzle you with his many mouthwatering cocktails, and moves behind the bar Just let him know what your favorite liquor is and he can tell you what he can make for you! At the present, they do not serve food. They also have an area that looks like it's built for a DJ and there is a dance floor. You must treat yourself and find out how unique and awesome this place is to share a drink with friends. Showing an out of town coworker around Sanford on a quiet Sunday night, we stopped in for a drink and fell in love with this place. Lionel and Caz explained the concept of the bar, the drinks, and were charming and funny. All the cocktail offerings are made with organic ingredients and black, women, and LGBTQIA+ owned sources for liquors. Sold! The vibe was chill, the music fit the tone of the evening, and how can I write a review without mentioning Nancy? A patron of the bar, and endlessly entertaining, Nancy was a highlight. Can't wait to stop out again and bring friends. Lionel explained that the bar is still tuning up their offerings, will be offering food within six months or so, and if I'm the type of customer they are seeking, they nailed their demographic! Now, if they could just get the white guys faces off the wall and be a bit more inclusive in their choice of icons - it'd be perfect. :) read more

service was terrible, we were barley attended to especially for it not being crowded the time we went. at the end of our time being there we informed them about service being slow and a bartender stated "oh well" LOL how unprofessional. if you want people to continue to attend your establishment you should have a more positive attitude and care more about the needs of your customers. For that we did not leave a tip. I do not think we will be coming back. read more

It paired nicely with the bottomless mimosas and sangrias. Their restaurant is beautiful and has many photo worthy spots. They also have a bar towards the back of the restaurant and patio seedings as well. This place was located in downtown Sanford and gives you an opportunity to walk off all the delicious food you just inhaled. I definitely want to revisit this location and try the rest of the menu.

For our concert, the venue set up a Coleman cooler of water and small free water cups by the entry, but they did not make an effort to refill the water jug, so we got quite dehydrated and unhappy halfway through. Liquid death cans and cups of ice can be purchased for about the same cost as alcohol at the bar. Nutrl was only $6 and change, I was thrilled! The sound quality was EXCEPTIONAL! Kudos and a half to Tuffy's for excellent balance and not blowing our eardrums. The light show, meh, too many dark blends, too moody and could barely see the band. When most lit up, I enjoyed seeing the stage. The place got very crowded, very quickly. They need crowd control and to not overpack concert goers like sardines. The outdoor bierhall vibe was chill but was basically a refuge for chainsmokers :( Would def go back, but have clear expectations, multiple water cans in pockets, and very very supportive shoes for tha concrete floor.

My husband stuck to Stella's most of the night, and he said they were fresh and served ice-cold, just how he likes them. The real highlight of the evening was the band--the 789s. They were absolutely fantastic! The artists were engaging with the crowd, creating an electric vibe that kept the dance floor packed the whole time. You couldn't help but be caught up in the energy of the music. The combination of great drinks and lively entertainment made for an unforgettable experience. If we're ever back in Sanford and there's a good band playing at The Alley, we will absolutely return. It's a great spot to enjoy a drink and listen to great live music.
