I've had many positive experiences at this salon over the years; however my most recent experience was so poor and the interaction with the owner Joann (to me and my mother) so hostile that I would not recommend spending money at this shop that is already well over charging for services. my color came out fine enough but I left with far less hair than I came in with, even though I asked only for a trim. I left with long layers, even though they insist only an inch came off the ends. (arent layers different lengths by definition?) my hair is very curly and the woman who took the scissors to my hair had never met me before, or knew what type of hair she was working with. at the end I explicitly said "it would take some getting used to" and that I was not thrilled with the outcome. the next morning I called and left a message that I was unhappy with the service because it wasn't what I asked for (trim) and I received a call back from an aggressive ansd hyper defensive owner that requires me to come back to the shop to fix unwanted layers and then she *made up a story* that I was banned from four salons and alleged that her stylist told her that. yes it's bizzare- but sowas this whole experience. When later confronted about this straight up lie turns out it was basically said just to hurt my feeling. super professional! my sister, mom and I will no longer be I don't thisn salon - which is a shame because most of their workers do listen well but Joann was so unprofessional and rude that it's not worth it. read more

Wonderful staff, place looks fanatic colors and details in the salon are beautiful they also have a spa side witch seems so relaxing while I waited I met the nail tech Aga she was super sweet I will be getting a mani for sure next time ! Briana is my hairdresser I know a few women who go to her and they always have he best colors and cuts I had a baby 3 months ago and was feeling down and out as my hair texture had change after the baby, This was my 1st cut color and blow out in about 9 months ! everything was perfect from the moment I walked in I was greeted lovely by Jenna at the front desk- she made sure to let brandy the assistant know I was there for my stylist Briana. Brandy than took me back got me ready for color gave me a wonder shampoo (My hair is thick) I got relaxing glass of white wine, got my hair colored cut and blown out. Katie will custom design your facial by choosing special products specifically for you, and select a mask that will benefit your skin. Extraction is done after a lengthy process of steaming, cleaning, prepping and a wonderful facial massage. Plenty of warm, moist and hot towels are applied throughout this fabulous facial. Katies' gentle soothing therapeutic touch is magnificent. Cool eye pads, aromatic products and fragment mists are used. While your mask is on, Katie continues the facial by massaging your neck, shoulders, upper back, arms, hands and fingers. Warm mitts are placed on your hands. I've been going to Celestial right about the time they opened! I've had a few different stylists take care of me over the years (life happens, people have children, change jobs, work less,etc.). Every single stylist there is highly trained (they keep up with classes every year) and up to date on the latest looks and techniques. Briana has been my stylist for the past few years and I completely trust her with my hair. She is very talented and I always leave super happy (I get a single process touch up every four weeks and a cut about every eight weeks). Brandy is an awesome assistant and everyone from the front desk staff, assistants, stylists and the owner are super nice and friendly and treat each other like family. They even hang out together after work and take trips together. You will be treated like an extension. No stupid attitudes here. I visited Celestial Hair Gallery for the first time, not knowing what to expect. I was EXTREMELY happy with the service, professionalism, and expertise that I received. I've been to so many salons in the past that gave poor haircuts, or did a horrible job with the coloring that I asked for, and I was really happy with what I saw here. Christina took great care of me, gave me a great haircut, and great color, all of which I was in need of. She also kept the appointment running very punctually, even though she was juggling other appointments at the same time! I can't recommend Celestial Hair Gallery, or Christina enough. I'm in the process of moving to Northport, but I will still make the trip back to Smithtown for future appointments. Called for an appt. The receptionist was very nice over the phone. She told me I had an appt. With PATRICK!! I went into the salon, everyone was very nice then Patrick walked over and brought me to his chair. I was very hesitant and nervous because I had so much breakage that I didn't want to loose anymore hair. He was so friendly and made me feel so comfortable. I then had my hair washed (she was so sweet). Patrick made wonders on my hair and made me feel so much better. I will recommend him to anyone and everyone. Never mind the fact he will make you laugh the entire time. I have found my hairdresser for life! Can't thank him enough. Today was my first visit at Celestial, my 3 year old son and I both got haircuts. It's always scary trying a new place and the stylist I was initially looking to consult with was booked for months. I saw Jeanine, another master stylist instead and she was great. Kind and patient with my son, and really heard me when I was explaining both of our "hair goals". I also wanted to note that all of the staff looked great - at some salons the stylists don't present themselves in a way that makes it seem like they know what they're doing for you in the business/service they're providing! Jack is an amazing stylist. His talent surpasses any other that I've experienced. He's a very sweet person. He really forms a bond with his clients. Before Jack, I was anxious going for a haircut, but Jack puts my mind as ease. I have very fine, limp hair and he gives a cut that makes it healthy, playful, and fun. I always get compliments on my hairstyle. Vinny is a gifted colorist. I grew up with him so I know him very well. His balayage is insanely beautiful. People are constantly raving over my color. Both of these men are continually taking classes to keep themselves fresh on innovative new techniques and the latest, most current fashions. I had an awesome experience at Celestial! The very reason I went to this salon was because I read such wonderful reviews. As a new client, not only was I able to get an appointment quickly, they matched me with the best stylist for me! Rosie is simply fantastic! Not only did she listen to me and carefully look at my hair, she gave me suggestions that I didn't think about and modernized my color and cut without it being too drastic of a change. My Hair is done by Jack, and I can't say enough about how talented, professional, and just wonderful he is! Everyone there at Celestial treat you like GOLD! I've been coming to Celestial for almost 10 years now, and I always get so many compliments on my hair. But recently I was diagnosed with cancer and I have been undergoing Chemotherapy, and as it goes I lost all my hair. I purchased a wig that was just not working for me, so I took it to Jack & Vinny AND...... they did the most AMAZING job with the cut and color! Beautiful color- that's what you'll get with Vinny every time! He has been coloring my hair for over 15 years and I have never been disappointed. I thought that moving off of Long Island would lead me to a new salon, but I was wrong! Bridge construction & traffic can't keep me from returning to Vinny at Celestial Hair Gallery. I tried once to make life easy and color my hair in a local salon and it was a huge mistake! I returned to Vinny and told him what I had done. Jack is amazing love how my hair feels every time I leave the salon. I have to book him a year in advance as he is so booked but I can't live without my hair done. He listen to his customers, knows his products, and lets you know what he thinks. When I was going away on vacation my appointment conflicted with when I was going away, Jack did everything in his power to work with me so I could see him before I went on vacation. First off I would like to point out that I never write reviews but I am SO in love with the result that I felt I had to share my experience. This was honestly the best hair color/cut experience I have ever had, and I've been to a lot of salons over the past 15 years! Jenn, also known as JJ, colored and cut my hair perfectly. I have blonde hair so it can be difficult to get the color just right but she matched exactly what I had asked for! She's super talented and not to mention a pleasure to talk to. I had to write a review for Vinny, Master colorist, who has been vigilant in maintaining the integrity of my hair, while color correcting my hair, as a result of inexperienced Colorist's from my past. It's been a journey, and as a blonde, it's an integral part of who I am and upkeep has been exasperating. I just moved to the area and was looking for my new go-to place. Celestial is definitely it! The salon is very clean, warm, and comfortable. The staff is friendly and professional. Vinny colored my hair and I absolutely love it! He did blonde foil highlights. They look natural and I love the tone. Plus he was super nice and worked quickly without me feeling rushed. Christina did my cut and style. I trusted her judgement to cut off a nice amount of hair and to create some angles. The result is great. Very stylish but simple to maintain on my own.
