They just lost me as a customer. I would go there on a regular basis to get dinners and food and everything was always good today I walked in. I got the number and got meat from the deli and did all of my shopping. I noticed afterwards that the cake we like is behind the counter, so I just asked the boy behind the register if he could walk there and give me one container of the cake he said he's not able to do it so I was standing there patiently waiting for maybe one of the girls behind the deli counter to ask her if she could pass me the cake, but they were obviously busy cutting meat so I stood patiently and waited as the boy behind the register, just looked at me for about 20 minutes then I realized that they were too busy behind the counter so I got another number and just asked for the container with the cake from the girls 40 minutes later I would think that if the boy behind the register would've walked behind the counter and gave me the cake that would've saved me about 40 minutes of my time. It was just super ridiculous and awkward situation as he was staring me down and was not willing to help definitely will not be back for that reason. read more

Honestly, I wasn't sure what to expect. I've lived in Lemont for a year and have always passed Celina's wistfully telling my family I will one day stop in. Well, that time finally arrived! The premise of Celina's is of being a European grocery store and they certainly didn't disappoint. I was so happy to see so many vodkas! The vodkas were primarily Polish, but I'm positive there were some more Russian types in there! Everything was so authentic and I was ecstatic to see that there were so many Russian and Ukrainian food options! Even a few of the bakery items I remember from my childhood when my father would hit up the bakery in Chicago to bring us back some treats! Every single item appeared fresh and recently cooked/baked. If the amount of patrons could prove how good Celina's is, anyone could be convinced. It is difficult being a vegetarian, but there were many options to choose from at Celina's. I decided to be conservative and only purchased some Ukrainian Borscht as well as some reduced chocolates. They always have me at reduced! Overall, though, prices are pretty high. Salads are wigged by the pound and at a steep price, bakery items are at least $4-$8. Yet, the candy was enjoyed by all. I shall return. read more

Hands-down, the best Polish food for takeout. Their deli is awesome. They have everything you could possibly want. They're hot food is amazing. I love their sauerkraut mushrooms, chicken Kyiv meatballs with dill they have over a dozen kinds of soup that you can make at home all fully prepared. Their bakery a second to none everything is fresh and delicious We have had dozens of meals here and everything has been fantastic. Never had a single issue with anything ever. It's like a full-service store. They have everything so if you run out of anything they'll have it it's fresh. It's good. They have an amazing selection of candy and meats are highest quality way ahead of Jewel. The pierogies are awesome. I make those at home as well. You cannot go wrong shopping here. read more

I quite like Celina's. They have an amazing selection and variety of different things, and the service is really great. They are all very nice and understanding. The food itself they have in the deli has never disappointed me. However, the store can get very crowded. It's a smaller place, and so it might be hard to navigate your way around without bumping into someone or getting in someone's way. read more

We have had many take out dinners from Celina's and normally I would rate them 4.5 stars but our last meal there makes me hesitant to go back. My wife and I each had a take home order of meatballs in dill sauce, sweet cabbage and mashed potatoes (our favorite meal). Nothing seemed amiss or off tasting. We both suffered stomach cramps and diarrhea afterwards. It was the only thing we ate that day that was in common. Now I am not sure I would go back and it's a shame. read more

Thank God for Celina's!!! We are here from Florida visiting my daughter. No Polish food there! We have been here at least once a month since May! Our very favorite take out food. Nothing but the best! If you want to go, try weekdays or on Saturday, please have patience! It is usually VERY crowded. But you will never be disappointed with anything you get! First, let me say that a three star rating is not a bad thing. I do believe that A-OK means I'm satisfied. I go to Celina's occasionally, not more often because I'm really not into many ethnic foods. I have to say, though, that I've really enjoyed the variety of smoked sausages that I've tried. I'd like to thank the owners for supplying samples of the foods they sell because I've tasted and then frequently bought what I sampled. That includes meats, breads and pastry goods. I've been fortunate in that I've dealt with some very nice counter staff. The younger girls (not being sexist here) have generally been helpful and patient answering any questions I've had. I wish I could be as enthusiastic about the customers I've come in contact with at Celina's. The old world customers tend to be pushy and, at times, down right rude. I've even had them cut in front of me at check-out and not think a thing about it or say "excuse me". I understand that is no fault of Celina's but it does make me think twice about stopping in when I'm in the area. read more

There are many deli's in Chicagoland, but Celina's Deli in Lemont is at the top of my list for a Polish Deli. Hot food is constantly being cooked, the cold food selection is awesome, and if you're looking for Polish beer or spirits, they have it. Instead of going to Whiting for pierogi fest, we went shopping and came home with more than a couple meals. If you are looking for authentic Polish food they have it. The cold meat selection and sausages will make anyone happy. This is a go to place and they cater too. read more

This place rules! Wow, they have great smoked meats and I love the atmosphere of being in a small European grocery store. It's especially fun to hear people speaking Polish to each other. Some other reviewers mentioned high prices, but I think the prices are very reasonable for what you get. Next time I'm in the southwest suburbs I'll go to Celina's and buy a lot more meats to take home! They're delicious! read more

I've shopped at Celina's for years and enjoy the variety of foods. Lately, I've been buying cream of chicken soup weekly and my only comment is to please be more consistent with the pepper. The store is not the typical big grocery stores around but there are a lot of good things inside. Although it is a small place it is clean and well organized. There is a variety of products from different countries especially from European countries. From wide selection of deli to canned goods, different pasta, snacks, pastries and even imported chocolates. Like the usual grocery stores they have fresh selection of produce, meat and deli but the different the store has is that they have the specialty products added to their selection. The staff in here are also friendly, accommodating and very helpful. The prices are also fair and reasonable. It is a great knowing that this location has a store like this. I honestly do not live near the place but I would definitely save time to visit it even once just to buy their exceptional selection of imported goodies at great prices. read more

First of all, let;s just say I'm a fan...of either location in Lemont. This location gets points for being bigger, and having a greater variety. When we moved to Lemont from the South (aka THE SOUTH), I wondered where our go-to comfort food would come from. Enter Celina's: I mean...come on. 2 meats and 2 sides for $6.99? That's practically criminal and goes so close to what I miss in the South: a meat and three (down home restaurant that let you select one (usually) slow-cooked meat, and three delicious sides. So Celina's already fit my bill...2 meats and two sides? I can def get behind that. And the meats are GOOD. Slow baked chicken, meatloaves and meatballs of all kinds, ribs. etc. A lot of selection. The sides are standard, but delicious: potatoes as many ways as you can count, 4 diff. kinds of sauerkraut, various veggies, etc. And in their refrigerated case? Soups----as many as you could count, for each $1.59 a container. Sweat mercy, have I gone to Heaven? Well that's what if feels like, looking at Celina's soup options. I stop here on the way home from work to pick up 2 of the to go plates of 2 meats and 2 sides each and it is enough for the three of us at home when we split it all up. This is the bigger Celina s. Basically it has the same things like the smaller Celina s on State Street. But I think they have a little more variety and brands than the small one. And they also sell alcohol. If you like Trader Joe s, I bet you would like it here. :-) I always go to one of the Celina s to buy bread, crispy fresh rolls, sausages, cold meat and cheese. They are delicious! And so authentic! And it s not really expensive! (Bigger grocery stores also have "authentic" food, but a lot of times, they taste nothing like the original and still are a bit too pricey.) I know, what I am talking about, because those are all the things that I used to eat in Germany. :-) You should go there, if you want to buy lots of great polish/european food and want to use a cart, because it s spacier. A hidden gem for polish food! They have a huge deli - great selection of hot and cold polish food. Stuffed cabbage was excellent - full of filling in a creamy tomato sauce. I also like to commend Celina, the so very gracious owner who has for many years has mai tended a constant presence in Lemont offering very fresh, hot food selections plus a full deli, bakery selections, and complete grocery store. The closure of the State Street store should of been completed years ago but Celina was committed to serving all of Lemont at convenience. Skimping on quality. I am a regular at Celina's. Lately I feel as though they are not using quality ingredients in their smoked sausages. The last few times I purchased the garlic sausage it was not the usual quality ingredients I'm used to. The garlic sausage had everything in it but garlic. It was loaded with grizzle, hunks of fat and bone. It was embarrassing to have my guests ask for tooth picks to pry the fat from their teeth. My gram thought she may have cracked her tooth on a piece of bone. The mixture was mushy. Needless to say, I'm very disappointed. read more
