THE OTHER SIDE OF TOWN Sometimes it's nice to venture to the far end of where you live, even if it's just a beer run. Of the two Meijer stores in Bolingbrook, this is the eastern location near I-355 & Boughton Rd. It's off of Janes Ave in the same general vicinity as IHOP, Buffalo Wild Wings, and Discount Tire. The store is laid out in a mirror image of the one I'm used to, so it took me a while to find what I needed. A 12pk of Half Acre Daisy Cutter was marked down to $18 (normally $25) and a 4pk of Stella Artois tallboys was $7, also a very good deal. I only bought booze on this trip, so I can't comment on the quality or availability of produce. The shopping floor seemed clean and well-organized. I made use of the US Bank ATM inside and couldn't help but notice it was much smaller than the behemoth at the Meijer on Weber Rd, AKA Bolingbrook West. I stood there slightly hunched over, punching in my PIN on a keypad that seemed tiny by comparison. Were Derek Zoolander present, he would've said "what is this, a cash machine for ants??" During self-checkout, the guy who came over to scan my ID for the beer waved his badge and was greeted with the classic 21st century nuisance--dude's password had expired! He politely retreated to his master terminal, coming back several minutes later to finish ringing me up. A minor inconvenience, plus I got a decent chuckle out of it. Glad I'm not the only one that happens to. * TL;DR * It's not the one I usually hit up, but Bolingbrook's other Meijer is A-OK. The store was tidy and I found what I needed. Self-checkout took longer than I would've liked, though not a huge issue. I don't imagine I'll come here much in the future as the one on Weber is merely a stone's throw from my house. This strikes me as a decent Meijer servicing the people of eastern Bolingbrook, Woodridge, and Darien. read more

Rather convenient nearby grocer. Nothing special though. Prices usually better than Jewel (same distance for me), but I do hate when they make you buy multiple of something to get a decent price. Jewel way worse on that though too (or to download their app). Normally, I'd give 3 stars, but I'm currently avoiding due to the fact they sold me moldy buns (Dave's). I bought them on November 10th, but the expiration date was 10/31 (which I didn't look at until after I noticed the green bread I was holding and almost bit into). 6 month ban for that. Sickening. Oh, and one more thing, not even any surprise, or even an apology, when I returned them. Just business as usual. read more

Location is bright and cleaner. Pharmacist at the pharmacy are very helpful and friendly. Had my flu vaccine and the lady was really nice and was very quick with the shot. The mperks is really great app to earn points. Get 500 points for getting a prescription filled at the pharmacy. Can redeem 1000 points for $1 off. Points actually accumulate fast when you shop there consistently. The breads they make by the bakery my favorite is the cheese bread or cheese bagels. Always great deals in their meat department. The meijer brand products are cheaper than most name brand items and are very good. They aren't 24 hours anymore, but the only store that is open the latest to 12pm in the area. read more

No warning of customer service closing at 8 pm when the store closes at midnight . I just drove 1/2 an hour to make a return .. employees are playing tag and goofing off every time o have been here .. please act like a professional store !!! read more

I used to shop here all the time and now because of some employee that took advantage of me everyone at this meijer loc including the service desk, registers, and employees that walk around are rude to me and my mother all this over a rumor and that employee that took advantage of me switches job positions to avoid seeing me as a constant reminder of what he did to me very unprofessional behavior for meijer read more

Would have given 5, but I was walking past checkouts, and an employee stopped me and said my camera app was open on my phone, and that wasn't allowed. First of all, what if it was the Meijer app and I was scanning barcodes? I proceeded to say I was taking photos for Yelp of how clean the store was. She said you can't take photos of people. I said I wasn't, and she apologized for the confusion. Meijer usually has good deals, and the stores are always clean and well-stocked. Actually they worked up to a 4.5. Lately, I have found that their pharmacy items are of a more varied selection than Osco, Mariano's, Walgreen's. Not only have they had a choice for Preservision, they accept manufacturer coupons ~ SCORE. Then. last week i was in need of a card table. Every single site I checked could either ship it to me or their local store early next week. I needed it on Friday. So, I checked Meijer. In stock and I could pick it up at a selected time. They notified me that my table was available to pick up 3 hours earlier than I had scheduled. i will warn you, the signs in the parking lot have been turned around so the pick up area is all the way to the south end of the building. You text your spce number and within 2 minutes a very friendly employee was carrying it out to my car. Could not have been any easier or made me any happier. read more

I've been going to this Meijer for over 16 years. It's reliable, employees are very helpful, the store has everything you need, the hours are great. I consistently use their app, and I appreciate the fact that you can redeem points for pretty nice discounts. I appreciate the Meijer brand foods as well. I'd only wish their produce was better. I went in this store last week to purchase a pair of headphones late night after work, I found some on clearance and purchased them I got home and there were no headphones in the box. Called meijer and they told me to come in with the receipt, so I drove 45 minutes to meijer and they told me there was nothing they can do about it. The guy in electronics wanted to help me but the management has very poor costumer service. I didn't know I have to check the box to see if the item is inside when I purchase it. I will never step foot in a meijer ever again and it is insane that they'll lose a costumer for life over some 90 dollar clearance headphones. I used to be amazed at the wide selection of goods with great customer service when Meijer's was only found in Michigan. They haven't managed to export that to Illinois or Wisconsin. They say insanity is doing the same thing the same way and expecting a different result. That makes me insane because a while ago I posted I would never return to Meijer and I did. There Weber Rd store had a sale sticker on the display for a Shark robot vacuum for $179. I'd been debating getting one for quite awhile and decided that the price was right. I searched the area and could not find any stock for the Shark (just the display) so I went to the service desk and asked for assistance to get one. After several attempts to page the department someone finally called back and I waited for her to "go in the back" to get one. She called the service desk back to say the item was not in stock (although it was the first day of the sale), and they had been discontinued so they probably wouldn't get any in. I left. I called the Boughton Rd store and went through the same scenario only this time on the phone. The woman gave me the same story. Why would you put an item on sale if it is unavailable and you have no stock to sell???? It is called "bait and switch". It didn't work on me and reinforced my decision that I will not return to Meijer anywhere. read more

What can you say that hasn't been said before, Meijers is great! I love the selection and prices! You have to shop around the busy hours which is easier for me since its close to my home and I work remotely. I live the self checkout lanes, just wish people were more prepared in using them so they don't slow down the line! You can get anything here that you need, not just groceries! Plenty of parking and there are a lot of good places to eat near the store. Service has been great here. And the bakery items tend to sell out fast. The only complaint that I have is that it seems that there isn't anyone available in the meat section all of the time. I kind of have to plan my shopping route when there is a butcher present. read more

Not a good store to shop in. Megan and John were cruel and rude. I was stopped and never told why. I told them that I have cancer and needed to sit down. John said "Yeah and I had a stroke last week. " I was ignored. Eric the store director was dismissive and insincere. He said it was a register malfunction. Wow Got 5 things at the deli counter. A mix of meats and cheeses . All in the 1/2 the ¾ pound size Nothing large or fancy Took over 25 minutes I'm talking for my order alone. Always my go to place to shop. I especially love the one off Boughton Rd & Janes!! The deal and steals they have there are amazing. I love the shop and scan option as I can roll in and right back out. I have never experienced bad service or a disgusting store so contrary to may others view. Okay, it's Meijer. It was never going to be great. I definitely respect their choice to mix the sizes of women's clothing (I assume they're doing the same with men's, but I don't know for certain), so that all sizes, from S to 3X, are on the same rack, and all styles are available in all sizes. That's inclusion, folks. Unfortunately, the store is dirty and messy and the workers seem like they'd rather be anywhere else. I had the most horrible experience at this meijers recently. Their online site showed that they had the chromecast ultra for $35. An impressive deal. I called them to check for availability of this product. On my first call I was put on an endless wait. On my second call I was told that the product was available and the guy would hold off two for me. I drove 40 minutes to reach this store. When i reached the electronics counter the same guy now told me that, the pricing was a mistake and I'll get the two items he held off for $69 each. I am disappointed because this could have been easily explained on the call, when he was holding those items for me. Secondly, the sites should be updated sooner. 3 days after, it still shows me the rates as $35. read more

I always shop at Meijer. I'd normally recommend it to anyone, but today I had an experience that really pissed me off. I purchased 4lbs. Of freshly sliced lemon pepper turkey among $200+ of other groceries and when I got home and put everything away I realized it was missing. This was the only thing I REALLY even needed at the store. I called the Meijer and spoke to the service desk who said I need to bring my receipt in to confirm whether or not it was left at the self check out. I explained exactly which self checkout I used and that I'm not going back out if I don't even know it it's there... this was after an 11 hour work day and I just wanted to be home. She said that unfortunately they have a new procedure regarding items left at self checkout and that she's sorry she needs me to bring in a receipt. JUST TO CHECK. I'm furious. This procedure has GOT TO GO. I shop here every 2 weeks or more and spend probably $3-5K or more here a year. At least a better explanation is necessary. She wasn't rude on the phone but it still took every ounce of self control not to flip out on her. I mean... to heck with the procedure, go see if someone turned it in to the service desk! read more

Having lived in the Chicago burbs, I'm well acquainted with Meijer. It falls somewhere between Wal-Mart and Target, but closer to Target. Prices are reasonable especially with sales, but you can spend a pretty penny on things you're not looking for - clothes, kitchen gadgets, video games, pet fish, and more! The one pitfall that takes this down a star is the Deli. My goodness, it should not take half an hour to get a couple pounds of sliced deli meat. It's not just at this location either... for some reason, they all seem to take forever! Love the deli prices, but not loving the long wait times. On the bright side, Meijer has the best deal on gas for your car next to Sam's Club and Costco, plus you don't need a membership to buy gas! read more

I like Meijer because they're convenient. You can find most things under one roof. When this place opened everyone was excited because we wouldn't have to pay Jewel's overpriced prices anymore.
