I thought no problem I'm not in a hurry, waited about a week and called to be sure they would be in (due to reading elsewhere that they are frequently out of the shop during business hours) A gentleman name Hue answered and said they would be in. I said perfect I'll be there in a few hours I am currently in Modesto to which he stated "ok". Well I got stuck in Modesto much longer than anticipated so I dropped by the next day (Tuesday) during regular business hours to find the door locked and open sign off. No problem I thought I'll just call and ask to call me when they are in so I can drop my Amp off. Well its a week later and still no call. I am understanding why there are a few bad reviews from others on various web pages. I can't really speak to the quality of repair they may do because I never had an opportunity to have them repair my Amp. It's just my opinion that if you are going to run a business you should be dependable and be there when you say or advertise you will be. If I hear anything from Merced Electronics or have them repair anything I will update.

Better communication and proactive updates throughout the repair process would make for a much better customer experience. Because of its wifi and the only model DC it is expensive (used one sell on eBay for over $150). My amateur diagnosis with a multimeter and I thought a capacitor was bad. No other place in town even does capacitor/circuit board repairs. But it gets better! I told the owner the capacitor was bad. He said he would confirm and repair for $20. I provided him with just 30 minutes and returned to find the device repaired. He even diagnosed the part (yes I was wrong!) and showed me the varistor was bad. Part worked as promised. I'm especially pleased as I gave him a bad diagnosis to work with. Yes he has tons of electronics in his place, but those all provide parts, don't let that scare you. I'm sure my replaced varistor (a very uncommon part to have on hand) came from some of those electronics. A real mom and pop feel, quality workmanship and now my fan works, saving me over $130. A+

The final straw came when we discovered a large, active wasp nest inside our dryer vent. Not only was it a safety concern, but it also meant we couldn't use our washer or dryer. The second screen was delayed via shipping and I would have been out a phone for over a week. He did lend me a phone until then which was nice, but still very inconvenient because I had none of my stuff on there (contacts, photos, apps). Upon receiving the phone with the new screen, the next day I noticed the color of the screen when outside would get all inverted, but neon. Photos attached. I believe this was an installation issue rather than a screen issue. It only happens when I'm outside, with a colder temperature change. When I explained this to him, he said that there was "no warranty" despite paying $200. And that the only step offered was to send the screen back to the manufacturer, which would take 7-10 business days - once again leaving me without a phone. Also, if the screen broke when they took it off, I would be out of luck. So why would I risk that? He also insinuated I dropped the phone for that to happen, which was kind of insulting, especially reporting the issue within 24 hours? I am now stuck with a screen that does not work, and a useless phone. I wish I would have just kept my shattered screen because at least I could actually use the phone. One inconvenience after another and while I understand a lot of this was out of his control, it still does not negate my very negative experience here. I now have to upgrade and get a new phone. I am beyond upset.
