It's not an attractive piece of real estate and the location is less than desirable. I'm guessing for the owners of Good Luck Communications that equates to low overhead. Anyway, don't judge this book by its cover. Once inside, I was third in the queue which looked to be about a 10-15 minute wait. Luckily, one of the workers, probably a co-owner, showed up and assisted me. I explained that the wife had broken the screen on her iPad mini and needed to have it replaced. He assured me that it could be done quickly and easily. I had purchased a Groupon for $79 but he explained that if the plastic frame under the glass was damaged that it would cost an additional $30. However, as that's the amount that they pay Groupon, he said that if he needed to replace the frame that I should return the Groupon and he would do the entire job for the $79. OK, I said, just let me know. He had me fill out a card, and said it would take a couple of hours because they had some other screens to replace before they got to mine. I took this interlude to drive over to The Big Bib BBQ restaurant on Austin Hwy (see my review), and to do some other errands. I got a text 90 minutes later saying the frame was indeed cracked and that I should return the Groupon. That was easy enough. When I returned at the predetermined time, the iPad was ready to go. He had numerous rubber bands tightened around the iPad holding the new screen tightly to the base so that the glue (I think) adhered properly. He said I should leave the rubber bands on a couple more hours. A couple of hours later, we removed the rubber bands, peeled off the plastic screen cover, and fired it up. The first thing we noticed was that the depth of the home button was deeper which means the screen is either thicker or the rim around the home button a tad higher. We noticed the ring around the home button was silver. Was this an iPad mini 3rd generation screen? Our mini was a 2nd generation. Anyway, other than that, it worked like a champ. The screen is as good as new, with no loss of touch sensitivity and no issues with how it was adhering to the base. Overall, I'd recommend Good Luck Communications if you need a screen replaced, or if you're in need of some accessories or a cheap calling/data plan. I'd recommend calling ahead as they might honor the Groupon price in-house rather than paying a commission to Groupon.

The screen that was installed is not an OLED. Shahzada over charged and forced negotiations. The price in store was different than over the phone. Once we agreed on the product and price work began. I was then shown the phone very briefly to verify work was done and told there are no warranties of any sort. Not being in the industry I trusted that he did the work requested. He installed a low tier screen at a high tier price and did not disclose this. I called to discuss and he could not tell me what kind of screen was installed - he calls it a generic iPhone screen. It is terrible quality- glitchy, low brightness, battery draining, and makes your phone run hot. His pricing started at $450. We negotiated for an OLED for $200. An OLED was not installed. Do not do business here. The store does not keep the advertised hours. The one redeeming quality is that the work was done quickly.

It's a small place, where the front does minimal sales of accessories and pushes hard on Asurion's monthly coverage plan - but respectfully. The staff keep it clean, it has seating. You won't feel uncomfortable standing or sitting. The service was fairly quick for the repair I needed. And they got my old iPad looking brand spankin' new. The parking lot is small because it shares the small lot with other suites in the strip mall. If I needed another repair, I would highly consider a return to this location.

Instead of trying to fix it, the tech told me to go to my carrier to have it fixed! I did and the carrier confirmed that UBreakIFix had damaged the antenna. I went back to the shop and was told that the tech who had worked on my phone had left and I would have to come back the next day! Overnight, the screen began to show bruising that ended up covering the screen entirely! (See attached picture) When I took the phone in the next day to repair the damage the tech had caused, I was told they would have to order the parts they had damaged! When I expressed my frustration at the situation, the tech became very angry and emotional and threatened to not fix my phone if I kept 'disrespecting him'! So unprofessional! I ended up keeping my phone and filing an insurance claim with my carrier to get a new one. I will never return to UBreakIFix. The techs are rude and incompetent.
