Fixed the back of my iPhone 8 Plus (the back was cracked) for a very reasonable price (especially compared to apple). Told me ahead of time needed to order the part and that the back would no longer have Apple logo - no problem for me - I use my phone for utility, not for the logo anyways. When I came back when he had the part, was able to fix my phone on the spot, while I shopped in the area - lots of great stores around. The person there was super friendly, helpful, and worked hard to get my phone done while I was around shopping! Really appreciate fixing my phone quickly and so well. My daughter took her iPhone 8 in fo repair for a cracked case (backside). Was told it would take 3 hours to repair and we would receive a call/text to pick up. Never got call or text. When we returned we were told that he had to order a part and to come back the next day but he requested that since he had an open ticket we would need to pay balance in full before he could continue. Payment was made. The next day by noon we still had not received a call or text but decided to return since he said it would be completed by the morning. When we arrived, he claimed to have "just" received the part and needed and additional 30 minutes to complete. When we finally returned to retrieve the fixed phone we discovered that he had replaced the previous glass Apple back the had the Apple logo with a nonglass back that doesn't even have and Apple logo. The once Apple iPhone now looks like an after market phone with an unknown brand. If I could give a ZERO rating I absolutely would. We should have been told that after market parts would be used and given the option to proceed or not. Lesson learned the hard way. WILL NEVER RETURN. And will tell all of my family, friends, coworkers about this experience so they won't fall victim. read more

I cracked the glass on my iPhone 6 plus. On the way to the Apple store I noticed the Cellaris kiosk. I was quoted about $150 for repairs, screen guard, and a sturdy case. I returned to the kiosk about 30 minutes later. While waiting on line, a couple in front of me were arguing with the person who performed the repairs. I heard something like, "If you're going to fix it, then fix it...my (something) doesn't work". I realized later that the customer was probably talking about the Touch ID which now doesn't work on my phone. I really wish I had know this before the repairs were performed. I would have just purchased the XR. Also of concern was how the person who performed the repairs asked me to log into Google ratings and to give him 5 stars. I did what he asked since he was standing right in front of me. Of course I had to tell the real story on Yelp. Good luck! read more

Cellaris Southpoint replaced the screen on my IPad. One of the corners of the screen detached almost immediately. I took it back for them to fix. It detached again within a couple of hours. I took it back again in the same day for yet another repair. A few hours later it popped up AGAIN. The person working there has already said he has no idea why it's happening. What is the point of offering a warranty on there work if no one there is qualified to repair devices? I definitely would not recommend letting them touch your device. read more

I brought my daughter's ipad mini 2 to replace a racked screen on January 14. We were charged $139 by two not so friendly employees. 2 hours later it was fixed and seemed to be in fine working order. After putting a case on it to protect it in the future, the home button stopped working properly and upon taking the case off, there were three cracks on it that weren't there when we put the case on it. Surely a new screen can handle a case being placed on it. Now it is cracked very badly, as if a truck ran over it, and the home button doesn't work at all. Very odd since she has only used it twice since we had it repaired. Horrible place, shady service. read more

This was the worst experience I have had at a retail store in my life. They put 4 screens on my Iphone6 over the course of 4 hours. They covered my phone with crazy glue and my screen still came off. I took it to a Apple store late in the week and they said it was missing screws and parts. They said it was the worst screen replacement job they had ever seen. I called 4 days in a row trying to ask for a refund and no one called me back! Nothing is professional about Cellaris in South Point. read more

I took my iPhone 7 to the Cellaris at Southpoint mall in Durham. The screen was mildly cracked. The phone was only 6 months old and working fine. Immediately after their repair the screen was slightly dimmer. The 3 d touch was not working right. I took it back and they pressed it down and then it was working. 5 days later half the screen went out. I took it back and the person at the kiosk said I must have dropped it and damaged it. This is a false accusation. Then he said "ah I see a crack". I wish I had taken a picture of his "crack". Complete lie. There was no crack or damage. He was pointing at nothing to put the blame of the non working screen on me. I said why would an invisible crack cause the screen to stop functioning? This is shoddy work by unprofessionals unwilling to stand by their work because they are using cheap materials and don't know what they are doing. They broke my phone for $75. Then I had to get the phone fixed by the Apple store for $145. Do not allow them to touch your phone! read more

I dropped my iPhone5 on May 23, cracking the glass, and took it to the Cellairis Kiosk at Durham Southpoint Mall the next day for screen repair. That night I noticed that my battery meter (% of power left that displays in top-right corner of most screens) remained at 81% despite any usage. After I charged it overnight, the meter was still at 81%. That behavior had never previously happened on my iPhone, so it was clearly associated with the activities on my iPhone by the Cellairis Kiosk. I resolved to take my iPhone back to the Kiosk, but first I rebooted the phone in case that might resolve the problem. Upon reboot completion, the battery meter showed 9% and wouldn't change. Another reboot: 74%. Another: 92%. One more: 81%. Upon arriving at the Kiosk, one of the attendants told me that the problem had nothing to do with their repair. He said it must be an old battery - they develop problems when they are older. However, that wasn't true of my iPhone - I had the battery replaced by Apple 6 months earlier as part of the existing battery problem that was inherent with some of the iPhone 5 models. And the meter problem appeared immediately after and not before the screen repair. So they opened the phone, poked around, and said it must be the battery (and that I would have to pay for a new battery if that turned out to be the problem). The new battery didn't change any behavior. They took the phone apart again, and after about another hour (and another new screen), the meter still had the same problem. In addition, now the phone rebooted itself every couple of minutes. So the phone was even in worse shape before I brought it in this second time. The Kiosk people refused to take any responsibility for (indirectly) breaking my phone and only refunded the money I had paid for the original screen repair. They would not compensate for or otherwise address their breaking the functionality of my phone. They said I'd have to take it up with Cellairis customer service. From that point they pointedly ignored me and proceeded to do booth housekeeping and other 'he's not there' activities. When I called Cellairis customer service from the Kiosk, I got a message asking me to leave a message that would be returned in one business day. Of course, that did not resolve the problem and I left the Kiosk with a nonfunctioning phone. I followed up with Cellairis Customer Service. They replied by asking for my receipt and doing little else despite my contacting them several times. They promised to "have someone in high management at the store contact you to see what they can do on their end." But that contact never took place despite multiple queries from me. I am somewhat surprised and definitely disappointed by my treatment by the Kiosk people. Reviews for this service at the mall have been generally very good, and this behavior stands out as a huge negative contrast to their review record. read more

Do not consider this place, unless you are looking for a major headache and a broken device! After calling a few places about an iPad screen replacement, I ended up taking mine into Cellaris since they were the only place that could do it same-day and we were leaving on a long car trip the next morning with kids (i.e., needed the iPad for in-car entertainment). The 1 hour turn-around-time they quoted me ended up being 3 hours. They threw in a free case for my troubles, but when I got the iPad home I realized that the screen could easily be pried off of the iPad, plus the power and volume buttons were not working. By the time we got back into town a week later, the actual screen was unresponsive and the iPad was totally unusable. I went back in and the guy working the kiosk told me it must be a defective screen and he could replace it again at no charge, and attributed the button issues to the faulty screen (which seemed weird to me). I ended up bringing it to the Apple store, who told me they had seen similar scenarios from places like this, and that the iPad was unfixable and needed to be replaced. After a heated exchange with the Cellaris guy, who continued to try and convince me I should let him just "fix" it, he opened up the register and gave me the cash amount that Apple had quoted to replace the iPad (iPad 2, so about $250), which I took back to Apple to swap out the iPad. So, not a total "F" since my problem eventually was solved, but definitely NOT by this place. Trust me, any money or time you think you will save by going here is not worth it. read more
