Worse than no help at all! The phone repair that was to take two hours took a day. And, wasn't repaired. To top it off, his lousy attitude (never taking responsibility for delays and his ultimate failure to do the assigned job successfully) was the last straw. This Batteries Plus store is under new management. My wife brought in my watch to have the battery replaced, but the new owner broke the watch. He said he would get it fixed it for us, but it has been over two weeks now with no resolution. He keeps making excuses ("I'm looking for a repair place, I'm understaffed and haven't had time to find one, etc.") - in the meantime I have no watch. He should just buy me a new watch or pay me for it. Regardless of what happens, I will not be returning to this store. read more

Friendly and fast service for watch battery replacement. It was Sunday morning and I was traveling up to Richmond, VA. The jewelry store I usually go to did open until Tuesday. The gentleman at Batteries Plus Bulbs was terrific and replaced the watch battery quickly for me. The price was only $15 vs the Jewelry store always charged $39. I know where I will go for any of my battery needs... IE Car Keys Batteries or other watches or phone batteries. I would suggest don't waste your time googling any other place... Yes they have iPad Screen repair and they repaired my screen but broke my fingerprint scanner. They told me that they were aware that there was a 50% chance that this would happen when replacing the broken screen. If they would have told me this I would have taken my iPad to Apple where they have the experience to replace a screen without breaking other things. Additionally, they knew that when they handed me my iPad back that the fingerprint scanner was broken. They did not tell me. I discovered it only when I got home and tried to reset my security settings that I could no longer use the fingerprint scanner. WTF. Has integrity been washed away from every part of our society??? Save yourself the headache and go to Apple for your screen repairs. read more

This place was way too easy. I needed a new battery for my altell phone, but tried to go to the verizon store (after the merge) to get a replacement. They sold me the wrong one, but when i returned to get the correct one, it took a half hour to figure out they didnt have it! Had a terrible customer service experience there. My husband and I bought watch batteries and had them installed for two water proof watches, and the next day, one of the watches that had been operating perfectly fine, filled with water when we swam in an indoor pool. We took the watch, showed the evidence of how the watch was destroyed due to a defective installation of the watch battery, and the manager agreed to refund the cost of one of the battery replacements, but not the other since we had not yet tried it in the water. That watch cost over $200, so after the 1st watch was ruined, we did not want to risk destroying the 2nd. The man who claimed he was the manager (but his name, Solomon, did not match the name on the business card of the manager, which was Neal) refused to refund the 2nd watch battery, even though we offered to let him remove it from the watch. We asked politely again noting that we could not risk destroying a $200 watch for an $8 battery, but he was adamant. I was displeased, but my husband remained calm. Then, he took over 10 minutes refunding the $ since he claimed there was a problem or delay with his computer. He eventually gave us cash. Last year, the same thing happened to my $110 Timex triathlon watch after I went to this same store for a battery replacement for my waterproof watch, but I did not make the connection between a faulty installation and my watch getting destroyed by the ocean water which flooded the screen after I wore it the first time after Batteries and Bulbs replaced the battery. Terrible customer service, and the loss of us as customers since 2005 all over $8. I will never shop there again and will tell everyone I know to boycott the store. I would give it a zero if I could. I spent $13.00 for disc batteries for the remote for my Christmas tree lights. I brought the old battery into the store with me to make sure I purchased the correct size. The salesperson, unfortunately I don't have his name, sold me a battery. Even though the number was different than on the original battery, he assured me it would work. Will it didn't fit. I packaged it up and tried to return it. Since the package was opened, of course it was opened I tried to us it, there is no refund. The batteries are of no use to me so I left them at the store and will call my charge card company to dispute the charge and have my money refunded that way. I then called the Corporate Office and they were of absolutely no help. Didn't even care. I will never do business here again. I found the battery with the same number as the one I was replacing on Amazon for 1/3 of the cost. I may have to wait two days, but it's worth it. read more

I went to Batteries Plus to have my husband's watch battery replaced. It's a pretty old watch and getting the back off to replace the battery is a pain. Unfortunately, while trying to get the back off, the gentleman working on it broke the watch band. Accidents happen, I understand. What surprised me, though, was that they had the watch repaired and replaced the battery at no charge. It took about two weeks. Not a perfect experience, but I was very pleased by the way they handled their mistake. It's not common that people take responsibility for their actions these days. read more
