This place was wonderful to stop at on our way to Bar Harbor - wine was great as well given the super reasonable price. We didn't have reservations and were easily able to find a spot. We got there around 4:30 and the staff let us know we were free to hang out outside as long as we wanted however the indoor closed at 5.

We had a fantastic day here! They have indoor and outdoor seating. A chef to make tapas. Snacks to buy. Amazing staff. Every one of them!! A tasting room with wines and gifts to purchase. The wines are delectable and so well enjoyed! The grounds are beautiful. I can not wait to return here and encourage all to make a trip in.

Visited in early October 2024. Beautiful view overlooking the vineyards while enjoying a wine tasting and admiring the vibrant colors of the leaves. Left with a bottle of red to fly home with. Very reasonably priced wines, too! Really loved our stop here.

We didn't have a reservations. Location was breathtaking. Parking is limited, we access on the backside and across the street. Margery got us settled with the run-down of their tastings/wine selections. Recommended everything but the sweeter tasting. Even stated "we like to hide this". We ordered the sweeter tasting. Jill was overheard talking to Pam (customer) with a stern and sarcastic voice, almost judging her selection of "dessert wine". That really changed the tone of our stay. We must note that the "sweet and dessert wines" are not going to be what you're used to.

Great wine list, a beautiful winery with a wonderful staff and cozy atmosphere. Definitely a wonderful place to spend a sunny afternoon and have a wine tasting Cheers!

Fabulous view and great time to be had. Our server was so sweet and attentive! I'm sorry to say, I forgot her name. She was a joy to talk to! We sat outside on the deck and enjoyed our tastings, which was self guided. Next time. I think I would book a food and wine paring. This was full and in action when we were there it looks like so much fun ! Reasonable tasting wines!

We were lucky enough to get tickets to "Full Circle" dinner at Cellardoor Winery in partnership with Walkers Maine as our first ever visit to Cellardoor, and we were blown away by everyone involved. The venue itself is beyond gorgeous. The pond and surrounding area was filled with fall colors, and you can see the vineyards in the background. The barn itself is pretty much original and beautifully restored / maintained. Everything from the chandeliers to stools is beautiful inside. The staff was so amazingly friendly and attentive, and all the fellow guests were also so welcoming to us out of towners. We hear this was their first event back after Covid, and it was beautifully done. The wines were beautifully paired with each app, entree, and dessert. Each course and app and wine was amazing!!! We appreciated the Chefs coming out to talk about the swordfish and the short rib preparations. The reserve red was so incredible - I wish I had bought some bottles to enjoy for the occasional after-work glass of wine. I wish we lived nearby to go there often, but for now, it's just a beautiful evening during our honeymoon! Thank you Cellardoor team for everything!!!

Piper helped us out when I wasn't sure where to go to check in for my reservation. The wine was amazing-we got three different flights and there was not one we didn't like. Mackenzie was sweet and so friendly -even told me where my husband was parked and waiting for me as I paid for some bottles to bring home. The view was incredible-this is a winery that is a must visit if you know anything about wineries!

My husband is not much of a wine drinker so despite the fact that we visit Camden regularly, he has previously been lukewarm about going to Cellardoor for one of their wine tastings until this year. We had a rainy day and our outdoor plans needed to change. I suggested that we go to Cellardoor for a wine tasting and much to my surprise he happily agreed that it was a capital plan. We arrived in the early afternoon on a weekday and found there were a number of people there but it wasn't crowded. There was just a nice, happy ambiance of chatting, convivial wine-tasters. The winery itself is in a stunning location. The views are spectacular and the winery itself is in a gorgeous converted barn. It is a most pleasant place to spend time. We took two seats at the expansive bar although there are other areas in which to sit. We were assisted by a lovely woman whose name I am sorry to say I didn't get. She handed us menus and a marker and told us that we were able to choose up to 4 wines per $8.00 tasting. My husband and I each chose 4 reds although there is what looks to be a nice selection of white wines. The woman helping us poured each wine in succession and explained them nicely. My husband and I both loved the Super Tuscan the best. After we had tasted all 4 of the wines we each ordered a glass of the Super Tuscan. The full glasses of wine cost $8.00 which is quite reasonable. We weren't rushed or hurried along. We were able to savor the wine, relax, look out the windows at the beautiful grounds and have a wonderful time. We probably spent about 90 lovely minutes in there. We purchased a couple of bottles of the Super Tuscan to take home with us. As we were leaving we walked around the rest of the building. There are really pretty spaces which you can rent to host events or weddings. There is a small gift shop as well. Buy the time we left the rain had stopped and there was a lovely light fog lingering which hung over the property. It was simply stunning. I do recommend that you check out Cellardoor and enjoy a relaxing, no pressure wine-tasting. Check out the property too if you're interested in a venue like this for any events you might be hosting.

Cellardoor has one of the most stunning views I've ever seen at a vineyard. We were lucky enough to catch the start of fall color change and gorgeous sunny day. Covid has shifted their operations quite a bit it seems but we felt as though they did a great job. They do require reservations and they took about 24 hours to respond to my email request. You are allowed to pick from pre-selected tastings or enjoy a glass of any wine for $10. The glasses are yours to keep and the samples are dispensed in takeout condiment containers. They also have premade platters of cheeses and fruits for purchase. The wines themselves were lack luster. We did the September tasting and the red tasting and didn't enjoy a single wine that we tried. We had given ourselves time to spend and enjoy perhaps another glass but opted to leave soon after finishing our tastings. Little depth of flavor or uniqueness to the wine. We also missed out on being educated about the vineyard itself and where their grapes are sourced.

Would love to come back for a food and wine pairing.

The view is 10/10. The wines itself are pretty good and the women working were friendly and helpful. We didn't have a reservation but were able to get a seat outside. I can definitely see this place getting busy though, so I would book a reservation in the future. We elected to buy a separate cheese and crackers and they have boards and tools so you can cut your own. I thought that was great since we didn't want to buy a pre made box. They both tasted fantastic as well. The only thing I really didn't like is the plastic cups. Seems wasteful and cheap and I didn't like getting wine on my hands just to open them and pour my own wine. I still gave 5 stars just for the view and cheese.

This place is such a gem. The ambiance is amazing and the grounds are beautiful. The staff is so kind and helpful. If you're in the area, make it your business to try it. Prices are reasonable too.

Thankfully we made it for their last open weekend for 2021! Service was extremely friendly - and we learned a ton about the winery and their practices. My husband listened to a podcast about the winery (which is why we'd wanted to visit), and the owner used to plow only using a horse. They have since switched to more modern ways - but I love that their wines are all-natural and with as minimal intervention as possible. The wines themselves are fantastic!! We had a 1/2 pour of each of the six offerings (sparkling white morphos, sparkling rose morphos, Chardonnay, cab franc, merlot and a cider) and I truly was surprised to find they are all GREAT!!! The sparkling white and Chardonnay were my favorites, but the reds were nice and dry and full of flavor. The cider was also dry and tart - it is lovely! The rose morphos was a bit too sweet for me, but tasty nonetheless! We will absolutely be back next time we are in the area!

It's a big ol' barn full of haphazard seating at and away from the bar. There's a good selection of wines, and the casual atmosphere only got better during our stay as more people filed in and filled the place up more. But even without a crowd, it was a peaceful spot to sit and decompress for a bit after a busy several days hiking at the national park and driving around Maine. The wine was very tasty, with my wife saying one of the sparkling wines she had was particularly good. I went with a blueberry wine because Maine, right? Also quite good, as well as thematically appropriate. Shoutout to the cute pup who greeted us when we pulled into the parking lot and walked us to the front door. He was chilling on welcome-dog duty when we left a while later haha. Great mascot. Great place.

Wow, where do I start... this place, wine, and people are all truly wonderful…read more the place: if you're a 5-star kind of person, you may not feel overly impressed with the space. if you are a real, authentic person who enjoys farming, organic foods, and can appreciate a hard working man's labor of love - you will LOVE the property. It's a "working farm", meaning it's not all polished up for the masses like some other wineries. This is Jim's home, his working orchard, his place of fermentation, bottling etc. And, you get to feel all cozy in rustic barn he built while he describes his organic wines with passion, a true passion that comes from many years of experience making wine and serving others with love. the wine: goodness, it's delicious. It's not the super sweet syrupy kind of fruit wine that you may come to expect, it's still sweet, but far less sweet, and drier. it actually tastes like wine, not a fruit drink. it is DELICIOUS! and evidently, it is the ONLY organic fruit winery on the east coast!!! THAT is wild... why can't they all use fruit without chemicals and pesticides...?!? But, I guess that's Jim's advantage. We tried every one he had, and none disappointed. Blueberry, Cider, Rhubarb, Kiwi and Honey Mead. He had a few others in works, but not ready yet. Man, they were all seriously good. the people: Jim is basically a one-man show. His wife is a super sweet lady, who also had her own winery back in the day (pre-Jim), so her expertise and wisdom I am sure has a major influence on the quality of their wines. That said, her health hasn't been the best in recent times so Jim is juggling a lot helping her and tending to all that needs to be done with his winery. It truly is a labor of love, and it shows. Ask him about the history of his home, how half of it was brought in across the iced over lake by oxen over 100 years ago. Or about the barn that the tasting room sits in, the one he built with his own hands. Or about what makes his wines different and superior than anything else you'll find. He will carefully tell the rich stories, lending to a remarkable experience you will cherish and remember for years to come. I HIGHLY recommend checking out Shalom farms if in the area. It is very worth the visit. You too will walk away with a sense of "Shalom" knowing you're doing your body good with true organic wine, and your soul good by supporting such a beautiful family.

Wanting to stay away from overly sweet blueberry wine, we settled on Shalom orchard, which is in Franklin. The drive there is beautiful, winding & hilly off coastal route 1 through farmland, and blueberry feilds, past a tidal marshland. When we arrived we were greeted by the sweetest dogs. Then Mathias took us through a tasting explaining the types of varietals of fruit in each bottle and the process of making them, all while seated in a beautiful cozy tasting room made of big post and beam Timbers with a funky retro kitchen. It felt like being welcomed into someone's home. We got a bit of new school Honey in The Rock ciders and old school Shalom. One criticism-- it would be nice to have an outdoor tasting room or screen porch there to enjoy the grounds, which are beautiful and rustic overlooking a special part of Downeast maine off the beaten track of touristy lobster pots and fishing boats dotting harbors. If you're looking for a stuffy wine expert or perfectly manicured orchard and garden, look elsewhere. This is real Downeast maine. And the cider speaks for itself. These guys the new cider makers there are ushering in a new creative rebirth of Shalom's operation-- they are young but very talented. But expect no frills, and be open minded for an educational experience. Do take home a bottle or two of cider at the very least to support this local business. Especially if you just spent $30 on a lobster roll and/or bought a T-shirt that says Bar Harbor. Also PRO TIP while you're there a.) hit hog bay pottery and b.) schoodic hollow local farm stand for self help self pay honor system goods. Now you have cider/wine, local arts/crafts and tasty produce. Congrats! You have just hit the holy trifecta of really experiencing and supporting our hyper local Maine makers and doers.
